Chaos Arrival AU: CONCEPT art [Work In Progress] SFW
I am not used to making these kinds of posts, so forgive me if I am a bit clumsy with my presentation lol. I'm afraid that this is not the most scary AU, and I only included it here due to some darker themes that don't completely fit with the OG show's rating (although the visuals are pretty SFW). I'm still workshopping so some things might change. Anyway, here is my AU split into sections to explain each slide:
The Source:
In this AU, the demigod of chaos (Chikn) lands on Earth in an unstable chaotic form. As soon as he hits the surface, chaos erupts and spreads across Earth. The lifeforms change rapidly in ability, appearance, and intelligence. Even the Earth itself had changed in composition, with the demigod's touch morphing the world in physically impossible ways. However, the demigod could not fully spread his chaos throughout the entire Earth. The Earth's guardians of order, both good and evil (Ice cream and French fry), had come together and restrained the demigod with magic chains. The chains were so powerful that they forced the demigod into a solid form, stopping the spread. However, he was able to overcome the guardians of order by using his chaos powers to trap them inside of their own restraints alongside him, trapping them all together. The guardians of order whispered things into the Demigod's ears to try to convince him to become either good or evil. However, the demigod becomes tormented by the situation and the voices, since the restraints go against his nature of constantly going through erratic changes. His terror of being trapped seemed to manifest and lock him away in a bubble of his own power. With the demigod locked away, the Earth was never fully conquered by chaos, making distinct regions going outwards from his location: the source (where the demigod lives), the limit, the civilization, and the wild. The lands by the source of the chaos are uninhabitable, everything that gets too close becomes abstract concepts of what they are. Only powerful beings are able to go through these lands and still remain intact.
The Limit of Insanity:
The stretch of land that borders the source is called the limit of insanity. The limit is a place that is highly concentrated with chaotic energy. Any sort of physics or logic seems inapplicable in this location. There are things like voids, shifting landscapes, and strange lifeforms that occur in this area. While regular lifeforms can live here without being deconstructed, many are too afraid to get near it. The constant chaotic events makes it almost impossible to escape if you go too far in. While regular lifeforms will be physically unaffected, they say that overexposure will change you mentally and make you go insane. Most people avoid this zone, but oftentimes the civilization will banish prisoners to this zone as an extreme punishment.
- Onyn Ring went into this universe due to the chaotic state making the separation between dimensions weak. Onyn was once a great scientist who wanted to explore this new universe and find new discoveries to help his world's advancement. However, as he stayed longer and longer in the limit, he lost his mind. He became obsessed with the chaotic power, becoming a religious fanatic of his own cult headed by himself. He prays to the demigod hoping that the world will end and that he will be freed from the mental labyrinth.
- Hawt Sauce used to live in the civilization. Hawt Sauce has no real family, his mother had been deconstructed during the arrival of the demigod and his father left him when he was a child since he found it too difficult to raise Hawt Sauce on his own. Hawt Sauce had eventually made some friends that helped him steal food and find shelter. However, his friends would often do risky things, and Hawt Sauce being the newest member, would be the scapegoat. Hawt Sauce would often get in trouble for his friends' behavior. However, years later when Hawt Sauce was an adult and simply trying to get by, he was dragged back down by his friends. His friends had gotten into a squeamish with another criminal group, and the fight escalated, only for someone to end up killed. The group decided to turn in Hawt Sauce for the crime, even though he wasn't even there, to get the law off their backs. Hawt Sauce was framed for murder, each and every one of his "friends" testified against him. Without any family or friends to vouch for him and a criminal past, Hawt Sauce was convicted. Hawt Sauce was sentenced to be imprisoned on the border of the limit, one of the highest punishments possible. He now waits for someone to help him, but he feels hopeless.
The Civilization:
Farther out from the limit is the civilization. The civilization is in the sweet spot between pure chaos and the real world. The land is not that affected from the chaos, regular physics still apply with only minor inconsistencies that don't really affect much (IE: oddly colored trees, weird sky events, etc). The chaos had transformed all creatures into more intelligent, anthropomorphic beings. Unfortunately this process did not help humans, it only made them deconstruct, which lead to this region being inhabited only by animals. They evolved rapidly and were able to put together a pretty advanced society. While the society seems a bit archaic, like something you would see in the 1800s, the creatures have human level thought. The government is somewhat unstable due to how quickly the society evolved, so there is a large amount of crimes that are often not punished fairly. The government, and many citizens in the civilization, are deathly afraid of the chaos bleaching into their region. Some lifeforms are more affected by the chaos than others, often gaining special abilities. These special creatures are locked away by the government in asylums since they are considered contaminated, and people are afraid that they will spread chaotic energy to the rest of the civilization.
- After the arrival of the demigod the chaos energy gave Slushi the ability to draw images of the future. Slushi became obsessed with drawing these pictures, to the point where she stopped going outside and stayed awake all day and night drawing. It felt like an instinct that she couldn't refuse. The government had, like with many cases of odd creatures, locked Slushi away in an asylum. The asylums are very cruel, due to the fear and distrust of the special animals, they are not well cared for and the guards tend to be violent towards the patients in order to "keep them in line". Slushi is not physically strong, and was quite emotionally vulnerable due to the terrifying events after getting her ability, so she was often targeted by crooked guards. The guards would beat her up for small indiscretions, and the doctors would use her for experiments to test different strategies to remove the chaos energy. The tests ranged from psychological to physical terror that ultimately did nothing to remove her ability. Slushi became more reserved, she became essentially mute, and refused to talk to anyone. She knows from her drawing that a big event will start up the end of the world. She also foretold that she would meet someone like herself..
- Sody pop was born with the ability to receive otherworldly messages informing him of important events. Sody gets these visions, like photographs that flash in his mind, that tell him about the doomsday. The visions only give him glimpses of these events, showing him the people or places in the present that will become important, but they don't show him what will happen. Unlike Slushi's power, Sody can't see the future, he is just given hints of things that will be important. Sody doesn't understand what these visions mean, and these intrusive thoughts make his life somewhat difficult. Sody has become a very nervous person. However, one faithful day, he was so overcome with these visions that he freaked out. He was forced to be evaluated and, when the tests showed that he had too much chaos energy within him, he was taken away from his mother and put into an asylum. There he met Slushi, who he recognized from one of his visions. They became friends and realized that they had to stop the end of the world by gathering a certain group of people. They were going to break out of the asylum and make the world a safer place where Sody could finally go home.
The Wild:
The wild is the farthest away from the source. It is almost entirely the same as real life. However, sometimes small specks of chaos float by and change things. The humans abandoned most of the grounds by the civilization, leaving a lot of abandoned buildings and other areas.
- Cofi was once a normal sheep who was a part of a herd of abandoned sheep. One day a small fleck of pure chaos drifted along the wind and touched her nose. She fell back and suddenly awoke: her wool was pink, she could stand on her two back legs comfortably, and she could only speak in a new language. The other sheep did not recognize her, even her own mother, and they became afraid of her. They could no longer understand her and she couldn't understand their bleating anymore. Without her flock, Cofi would be vulnerable. However, she couldn't stand being in the abandoned farm with the rejection from the flock. She decided to go off on her own, grabbing the farmer's gun which he left behind. She had remembered that the gun was used by the farmer to scare predators away, so she thought it would be useful. As she made her way into a nearby forest, she was attacked by a wolf that wanted to eat her. After a struggle to get used to firing the gun, she eventually shot the wolf. She was luckily next to an abandoned cabin, which was full of supplies. She had cut off the wolf's pelt and fashioned it into an outfit that would ward off predators using sewing supplies in the cabin. She lived in the cabin and made it her own. While life became more comfortable, Cofi still had this feeling of loneliness since she was no longer part of her flock. To her knowledge, she was the only animal like this who existed.
- Chee was a stray kitten that lived in an abandoned city when a fleck of pure chaos transformed her. However, this was no ordinary speck of chaos, it broke off directly during the fight between the demigod and the guardians. The small piece was cut off of him and was shot far into the air. The piece contained a small amount of sentience as well. When Chee was transformed, she was given special abilities, which included the ability to communicate with the chaos energy and other immortals. Chee befriended the little piece, despite the fact it could not talk. Chee became a traveler of sorts, and eventually met up with Cofi. Chee has no idea that she will play a key role in the end of the world.
