Randomized Song Discussion #172: Eyes of a Child Part II

I am picking a random song (using a random number generator) from the Moody Blues albums from The Magnificent Moodies through December (plus a few non-album tracks thrown in).

Today’s song is the 1969 John Lodge track, Eyes of a Child Part II, from To Our Children's Children's Children.

What are your thoughts on this song?

Does anyone else wonder why forever autumn is on the Moodies Greatest Hits

I mean, no one is putting paul mccartney's hits on the beatles greatest hits. And I feel like the Moodies have plenty of good songs on their own without needing to put heywards music on it.

Is this just me or am I missing something?

Moody Summer Sadness Bracket: Prelude

It's time to begin the Summer Sadness Bracket to find the worst (least-loved?) Moodies song of all time.

Sixteen songs didn't quite seem like enough, and 32 songs was too many. I settled on 20 songs. To maintain the bracket format, twelve unpopular tunes are receiving a bye into the second round. The eight remaining songs will do battle in four, round one matches. The four survivors will move on to round two, where a standard 16-entry bracket commences.

I hope this makes sense. You can see in the attached image that 12 tunes have already "won". If there are any objections, corrections, or points of confusion, please let me know at this time.

We can start the first matchup tomorrow.

The Moodies and psychedelics

I feel like no one talks about their relationship to psychadelism and psychedelic substances when every other song they make is a trip report...

I personally came to love them because no one described those worlds of feelings and experiences like them. I

Has anyone else ever related to them this way?
