Moody Blues Inspired Poem
I wrote this 25 years ago before Timeless Flight was released. The Moody Blues definitely inspired me and other things going on in my life at the time. I just copied this real quick into this post so it doesn’t have all the correct capitalization and punctuation. What do you think?
A Journey Home
I travel strange and foreign lands
On a timeless flight through far-off clouds
Across distant shores and dark grey skies
I search deep blue waters where only beauty lies
For peace in my heart, for a place called home
Home is family filled with warmth and love
The graceful flight of a gliding white dove
The look of sadness in a stranger’s eye
The far away light where the ocean meets sky
Home is hope staring at the stars above
As a stumble along this crazy life
Through times of triumph and days of strife
I dream of a place captured in time long ago
Where the sun always shines and the moon always glows……….
Where childhood days are care-free and blithe
Through forests and fields I still roam
In search of a flower I have not yet known
But my memory keep returning to those simpler times
When I was so young and school bells chimed……..
And I would run as a child to a place called home…………..
And I search like a child for a place called home.
My eyes (like driftwood)
Darkness
Darkness so meek
Find me a light across the radiant deep
Song
Song so quiet
Your voice is near you need only to find it
My eyes
My eyes find you
Like driftwood
Like driftwood finds the shore
World
World so lone
Been spinning now much too long on your own
Space
Space so vast
“Are we alone” to the cosmos so ask
My eyes
My eyes find you
Like driftwood
Like driftwood finds the shore
Darkness
Darkness so meek
Just cause you don’t got a voice doesn’t mean you can’t sing
Why
Why do we need
An answer to the end to be able to breathe
World
Precious Star
Your value doesn’t come from matching the bar
My eyes
My eyes find you
Like driftwood
Like driftwood finds the shore
Oh like driftwood finds the shore
Question
Not of hate and death and war (shoutout guy I stole that joke from). But basically I wrote this poem HEAVILY inspired by Driftwood. And I was wondering if it would be cool if I posted it here as a bit of a tribute. Just making sure before I do
Guyssss
Similar to a previous story I was listening to Talking out of turn on the radio on the way home from work. Unironically may be the best moodies song for the aux, absolutely heavenly on full volume. With all the orchestrals? Fuck, dude. Can’t recommend this enough. Do you guys have a favorite moodies song for the aux? I think this is probably mine
Scorching hot take
The other side of life has the best moody blues guitar solo by a fucking mile. It’s genuinely righteous and fits in with the song. And honestly a lot of their other solos, even from good songs, just feel like they’re there to pad out the runtime. Driftwood, Magic, even Ride my Seesaw. But two other non guitar solos I’ll point out our Nights in white satin and Lazy day. They definitely shake it up and do something different with the flute and harmonica respectfully and it’s much more welcome. If I had to point out a single other guitar solo I would consider good, it would likely be bless the wings but I don’t know if it really counts considering how much other instrumentation it’s accompanied by

Never Comes the Question on Tuesday
Maybe this is common knowledge and I'm the afterthought I usually am once again. But I've always wondered if anyone else caught this: while the DVD does play the audio of Never Comes The Day, it actually shows footage from Question and Tuesday Afternoon (and probably other random shots from the gig too). It's actually REALLY well done; when you don't pay much attention it's very easy not to catch it.
But when you've watched it for the umpteenth time and you can basically dream these dreamy shots (😁), you're starting to catch on quickly. Anyone else notice?
PS: While I'm at it... Where the hell is Ray? I've read somewhere that he wasn't even asked for an interview, anyone know if is that true? And if it is, why? It's a shame, really.
Edit because I'm particularly airheaded today: this is about Threshold Of A Dream...

Poll: Who’s Your Favorite Moodie?
Dropping in to ask a question I’ve long had that would devolve any other Moody Blues forum into chaos. (Not us, though, since we’ve demonstrated over and over that we’re a mature and respectable bunch).
So I ask… Who’s your personal favorite member of the band?
Of course they’re all great in their own way, but one surely must come to mind first whenever you think of the Moody Blues; someone’s gotta top your list for one reason or another.
Explanation is not required (but is always accepted) for the choice you make.
Play along and prove a point! 😁

So about the "Request a show" button...
Good morning everyone,
I have a question; not about hate and death and war, but about that mean little button at the bottom of the list of Justin's tour dates. XD
Does it actually make a difference if you click it or not? Is somebody actually going to see your request, or do millions of people click that button everyday? I prefer not to break out into some silly sob story, but long story short: I found out Justin did two gigs in The Netherlands last year and I MISSED IT. Completely my own fault as I tend to keep a low profile on the internet and don't generally check tour dates, as I'm usually not able to go anyway due to several stupid personal reasons. But I can tell you that this hurt. Badly. I feel nothing but love for this man and his music, and seeing him live would be a dream come true. ❤️🔥
Anyway, I have already clicked the button, I just don't know if it's possibly going to set something into motion or if it just fell into a vast ocean like a mere rain drop. I would like to think I might still have a shot at seeing Justin. So does anyone here have any experience with this gambling machine? Thank you in advance either way. XD
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour: The Moody Blues Album That Gives Me Goosebumps
Every Good Boy Deserves Favour was one of the earliest Moody Blues records that I listened to, and I still thoroughly enjoy it to this day. Although I don't rank it as my favourite Moodies effort, one of its songs gives me goosebumps every time I hear it...
