The worst part about the Vampsters sidequest
There's been a lot of talk about the Vampsters and varying accounts on how fun or not fun the quest is. When I began the slow march across town to do the first one I had the grim realization that this was incredibly tedious, but that I'd probably do it 100 times, because I find completing this kind of thing satisfying. I felt confident that maybe it would gradually unlock helpful or funny things incrementally as I reached milestones (like how this operates in the Soul Blobs quest). Nope. Well, I still kept gradually returning the Vampsters and studying the currently bugged log in the grimoire to narrow my search down, and I began whittling it down slowly but surely just for fun. I know that the reward is allegedly mostly cosmetic at this point and not very functional, but really at this point I was wanting to complete this quest for the satisfaction of having hunted them all down myself more than anything.
So I'm now sitting at 97 tonight, and have learned that one of the ones I'm missing was exclusively obtainable at the Loveage festival. :)
I'm in Summer Year 2. :)
At this point I will probably be finished with the game before the first patch ever makes it out for Switch 2. And I don't foresee myself playing into Year 3. :)
Just a little sad about this. I would have appreciated some kind of warning. A helpful bit of dialogue from Alina, who is a Vampster expert, could have been helpful. Something like, "I saw a Vampster scurrying around today that looks like it's dressed just for this occasion." Just a little helpful hint of some kind that there is something missable here would have been nice.
