The Muskokas

The Toronto Tempo introduced their team mascots. Dez’s hometown is “The Muskokas.”

Did anyone see the falcon second stage last night at 11PM?

Was a really cool experience, there was a giant halo effect in front of the rocket. If anyone has any more pics/vids/ info please share!

MeshCore in Muskoka

MeshCore is a free, open-source, community, off-grid messaging network that uses small LoRa radios to communicate without cell service, Wi-Fi, or the internet.

There are now several repeaters running in the Huntsville area, forming the beginnings of a local Muskoka Mesh Network. The more people who add a small node or repeater, the farther that network can reach — between homes, cottages, towns and beyond.

If you’re in Huntsville or Muskoka and interested in radio, emergency communications, off-grid tech, or just experimenting with something new, come join us.

Feel free to ask questions or DM for more info

Bracebridge things to do?

Hi

We are staying at a cottage this week until Friday around bracebridge and we are looking for recommendations on things to do in the area. We have 2 kids 10 and 13 and we are looking for family activities. We know about Santa's village but we don't know what else is in the area that people recommend. Things like go karts and mini golf can be fun, or a cool place to go site see. Thanks for any recommendations and your time

Did the Ford government promise an MZO as part of a secret Muskoka land deal? Residents want answers

  • Approached by boat from busy Muskoka Bay near Gravenhurst, the roughly 77-acre stretch was once home to a tuberculosis sanatorium, and then an institution for people with developmental disabilities.
  • It’s been vacant for decades but was conditionally sold by the province a few years ago.
  • Now there are plans to build a massive new development on the site called “Cliff Bay.”
  • The main point of contention is whether the province has promised a Minister’s Zoning Order as part of the sale, a controversial tool that allows projects to bypass local zoning rules to speed up construction on provincial priorities.

Bell Fiber

Does anyone know if Bell is going to continue rollout of fiber. The government gave them a ton of money a few years ago with a deadline of the end of this year to install. Seems like nothing is happening. Just outside of Port Carling area.

Thx
