An Au where Izuku is not actually happy with his life and wishes to go back in time to change everything.

The night air atop the hill was biting, carrying the distant hum of Musutafu's city lights, but Izuku couldn't feel the cold. All he could feel was the hollow, aching emptiness where One For All used to reside a phantom limb that throbbed with every heartbeat. The power that had once defined his entire existence, the legacy of countless heroes, had been sacrificed to save a soul that society had already written off. He had saved the world, but in doing so, he had lost himself.

"Please..." Izuku choked out, his voice cracking as he pressed his palms into the dirt, claws digging into the earth. "Just once more. Let me do it differently."

His green hair was matted with sweat and grime, sticking to his forehead as he bowed his head. The tears fell freely now, hot against his cheeks, carving paths through the dried salt and dust. He wasn't just grieving the Quirk; he was grieving the eight years of silence that had followed the war. The group chats that went dead, the invitations that never came, the birthdays he spent alone in his apartment while his former classmates celebrated their hero careers on television. They had moved on to a world that no longer had room for a Quirkless Deku, leaving him behind like a relic of a war they preferred to forget.

"Why does it have to be like this?" he screamed at the indifferent stars, his chest heaving with ragged, desperate breaths. "I gave everything! I gave everything to make sure you all could have a future worth living in!"

The silence of the hill was his only answer. No thunder rolled, no divine hand reached down to grant his wish. There was only the wind whistling through the grass and the crushing weight of his own loneliness."I didn't ask for this!" Izuku shrieked, the sound tearing from his throat like something physical, raw and bleeding. "I didn't ask to be left behind!"

He threw his head back, exposing his throat to the vast, uncaring cosmos. The muscles in his neck strained, and his vision blurred behind a veil of salt and grief. His heart hammered against his ribs. The frantic, terrified beat of a man who had been hollowed out from the inside. For eight years, he had lived in the periphery of their lives, a ghost haunting the edges of their success. He had watched through screens as Katsuki, Ochaco, Shoto, Yuga, Mina, Tsuyu, Tenya, Mashirao, Denki, Eijiro, Koji, Rikido, Mezo, Kyoka, Hanta, Fumikage, Toru, Minoru, Momo, all of them flourished in the spotlight he had helped build for them, while he remained trapped in the quiet, dusty halls of U.A. as a teacher who taught students how to dream of a world he no longer truly belonged to.

"Send me back!" His voice broke into a sob, his forehead slamming against the ground. "Let me go back before I lost it! Let me fight Shigaraki differently so I don't lose One For All and the people I love!"

The desperation was a physical weight, pressing down on his shoulders until he felt he might shatter. He would trade every lesson taught, every sunrise witnessed in solitude, every memory of his quiet adulthood, just to feel that spark of electricity beneath his skin one more time not just for the power, but for the connection it represented. He wanted to feel like he mattered enough to be remembered. He wanted to be more than a footnote in their heroic legends.

"Please," he whimpered against the dirt, his body shaking with uncontrollable tremors. "Just let me try again. Don't let me be alone anymore."

Essentially a time travel fix-it idea of Izuku is not truly happy with his life and wants to go back in time to change everything so he won't lose One For All. He never gotten the power suit in this.

Feel free to take this and turn it into a story if you wish.

Let's talk about My Hero Academia's Final Movie

So, let's talk about the final My Hero Academia movie, You're Next. First of all, the movie's main conflict stems entirely from a single line, 'You're next.' I really liked how Dark Might interpreted that line in a completely different way. On top of that, he came from a villain family, and despite being a villain, he was a massive fan of All Might. His powers were also super cool. But when Deku enters his domain, touches the tree, and remarks that it feels hollow on the inside, I loved how that line mirrors Dark Might himself. Even though he resembles All Might on the outside, he is completely hollow on the inside as a person. Later on, we learn that he didn't even naturally look like All Might, he altered his face just to resemble him, that's how deep his obsession went. In the final sequence, when he stops putting on an act after being backed into a corner, he reveals his true form as a monster.

I also really liked how he served as a direct contrast to the main trio, All Might's true successors. Dark Might admired All Might purely because of his raw power, whereas when the three of them strike him while reciting their own individual reasons for admiring All Might, that scene was awesome! Another thing, I feel like Dark Might's family isn't even a real family, he literally kills one of his own family members. It's more like a mafia crime syndicate that he just calls his family.

The movie's original characters, Anna and Giulio, were fantastic too. They might honestly be my favorites across all four movies, maybe right after Melissa.

Another unique thing about this movie was that it didn't bother giving any background context for the main series, it just threw us straight into this world. If a new viewer watched this, they'd think it was set in some post-apocalyptic world. The movie also had its own opening song, which was super cool. The soundtrack was amazing, and while many people found the pacing too fast, I personally didn't feel that way. The animation was top tier, every single fight scene was incredible, and the final battle blew my mind!

It's kind of ironic how All Might wasn't really featured much in this movie, but since this was more about his true successors than All Might himself, I don't really have any complaints. Other movies might be technically better in certain aspects, but in terms of pure enjoyment, this one takes the crown for me and is my personal favorite. If I were to rate it, I'd give it a 9.2/10.

I’m Never Wrong 😑

I’m Never Wrong 😑

Our Garden Patrol Heroes continue to clean out the garden bed. Uraraka is checking out some walnut and acorn shells that fell off from the trees to see if she could use them. However she starts to hear Katsuki getting into a heated conversation with Izuku. Why can’t Katsuki just chill sometimes.

It just Needs A Little Love

Uraraka perked up one of the plants that was struggling in the garden as the boys watched her work. She floated up to see if there was anything else she could do and was happy to report that the plant was going to make it through the summer as it had a rough start. Giving the plant a try with some love and care, she was able to show off it’s beautiful small flowers for our nectar thriving insects to enjoy 🐝

What are some mythical/mythological/magical elements you could imagine adding to MHA in an AU that includes/adds on those elements?

Sometimes I like to imagine what MHA would be like if it had a more standard Superhero Setting with all the kitchen sink stuff that entails.

That includes magical stuff or tapping into Mythology.

Main superhero comics do tend to lean towards a specific corner; Marvel comics has Norse mythology as the big thing, with Thor as one of its main heroes, and DC has Greek mythology as its main thing, with Wonder Woman as one of its big characters, along with a little bit of Aquaman. Not to say that these mythologies are the ONLY ones that occur in these superhero comics (Greek Mythology is still there in Marvel, for example), but they do tend to specialize/focus.

So for MHA, what could we do?

We could go Arthurian, considering how much Japan likes that fantasy European aesthetic, and maybe lean into the Fantasy AU ED that people love.

If we got Shinto/Japanese mythology, I had the idea of dealing with Inari who, from what I have read, does have connections to finance, business, and industry, and I feel like tweaking that to make it fit into MHA's themes of a corporatized/commercialized hero society would fit (especially if people want to focus more on that in an AU), something similar to Dario Agger/Minotaur from Marvel comics.

If we want to go more broadly, then obviously I think it would be cool to compare the mythological heroes to modern superheroes. We all know that mythic heroes are more about grand feats than being actual good people, and that could be compared to how some heroes are all about flash and fame rather than true heroics.

What do you think would be an interesting fantasy/mythology theme for the characters in MHA to deal with?
