NIMCET 2027 preparation: Self-study or online coaching?

Hi everyone! I’m planning to prepare for NIMCET 2027 and I’m a bit confused about how I should approach my preparation.

My Maths is quite weak, especially when it comes to the basics, so I’m not sure whether self-study would be the best option for me. I’m considering either:

  1. Self-study using different resources (YouTube, telegram)
  2. Joining an online NIMCET coaching, where I can follow a structured schedule and have proper guidance.

I’m leaning towards coaching because I feel that having someone teach the concepts from the basics and having a fixed structure might help me, but I’m also wondering if it’s actually worth paying for a course when there are so many free resources available.

For those who have prepared for NIMCET, especially if your Maths was weak initially:

  • Would you recommend self-study or coaching?
  • If coaching is better, which institute would you recommend and why?
  • How good are the popular NIMCET online courses when it comes to teaching Maths from the basics?
  • Is it better to join a full course or just take Maths classes and self-study the other sections?
  • If you self-studied, what resources did you use?

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have actually prepared for NIMCET. I’m trying to choose the right approach before I start seriously, so I don’t end up wasting time or jumping between too many resources.

Need genuine opinion !!!

I am currently pursuing BCA. Should I go for NIMCET, even though I do not have any prior experience in Maths from 11th or 12th grade? Please suggest your opinion.

NIMCET 2028 — How should I start?

I’m currently in 2nd year (3rd sem) of BCA, and I’m planning to appear for NIMCET 2028.

My college is tier-3 and doesn’t offer much academically, so I’m planning to focus more on self-study + NIMCET prep and use a library for studying.

I want to start preparing now, but most coaching batches I’m finding are for NIMCET 2027. Should I join a 2027 batch, self-study for now, or wait for a 2028 batch?

What would you recommend for someone starting NIMCET 2028 prep this early? Any good resources/coaching suggestions?

Is Aspire Study NIMCET 2027 Course Worth ₹22–25k? Need Honest Reviews

Urgent: Is Aspire Study NIMCET 2027 Course Worth ₹22–25k?

I'm a BCA student preparing for NIMCET 2027 and I'm about to decide whether to buy Aspire Study's New One Session 2027 Complete Course.

It's fully online and costs around ₹22–25k.

I already have Arihant NIMCET books, so I'm confused whether the course is worth spending another ₹22–25k.

If you've taken Aspire, please help me decide:

  • How are the Maths/classes & teachers?
  • How is the doubt support?
  • Are the mocks/test series good?
  • Do they complete the syllabus?
  • Is it actually worth ₹22–25k?
  • Any better online alternatives?
  • Would you buy it again?

I'm planning to purchase soon, so please share your experience ASAP, especially if you've used the recent batch.

Aspire or Arihant + self-study?

My honest experience with Aspire — please ask a few students before joining

I was a student at Aspire, so I’m sharing this purely from my own experience. I’m not trying to promote or defame anyone.

My first suggestion would be: before joining Aspire, talk to 2–4 students who have actually studied there and got into NITs. And honestly, if you’re not sure whether to believe my experience, just talk to a few students yourself. You’ll get a much better idea from their experiences.

If you still want to join, I would personally prefer the online batch.

If you’re still planning to join offline, I would strongly suggest avoiding the full-day setup. Based on my experience, I found it much more manageable to attend either the morning or evening batch rather than staying for the entire day.

If you have other commitments or simply don't want to spend the entire day there, tell Sir about your preferred timing before joining and get yourself enrolled in a suitable morning/evening batch. I personally feel this is something you should clarify beforehand rather than regretting it later.

  1. Sir’s behaviour

My experience with Sir’s behaviour offline was quite different from what I expected after seeing the online classes/content. Online, the impression can be very different, while my offline experience was not the same.

  1. Maths teaching

Coming to Maths, this is probably where I had the biggest issue with Sir’s teaching.

Coordinate Geometry — I think Sir teaches it well. Algebra was also okay-ish in my experience.

But honestly, Trigonometry and Calculus were very disappointing for me.

I clearly remember multiple instances where Sir would spend around 20–30 minutes stuck on a Trigonometry question during class. There were questions where, from my perspective, he seemed to struggle with arriving at the solution.

Calculus was another level for me 😭. I personally did not find the teaching effective.

I also remember one particular Calculus question where Sir couldn't get to the solution during class. He said something along the lines of “Last year this question was solved correctly, why isn't it happening this year?” That moment honestly made me question how consistently the questions were being prepared beforehand.

My overall impression was that many questions seemed to be taught from familiarity/memorisation rather than being worked out from the underlying concept, although that's just my personal observation.

I also remember one particular instance where a Limits question was solved incorrectly in class. Another student pointed it out, and after that the question was skipped.

Screen recording wasn't allowed during the classes, otherwise I would have uploaded the recording so people could judge the situation themselves.

  1. About this year's selections

Someone might say, “But Aspire had good selections this year.”

My point is: selections alone don't necessarily tell the whole story.

From what I observed, many students who got selected already had a strong Maths background, with several having prepared for JEE earlier. A lot of the students I saw getting selected were also from the online batch.

I was in the classroom/offline setup, so I got to see the students there personally. I remember Sir mentioning a few students as being from a Biology background, but I personally knew some of those students and, from what I knew, they were actually from Maths and were already quite strong in Maths from the very first day. So I wouldn't assume that every “student background” mentioned in discussions or presentations tells the complete story.

I also noticed that some selected students didn't really attribute their preparation to Aspire during the award ceremony. Obviously, that's their personal choice.

Again, I'm not saying the selections aren't genuine or that Aspire had no role in anyone's preparation. I'm just saying that selection numbers don't tell you everything about where those students started from or how much they already knew.

  1. One more thing I'd suggest

If you're researching Aspire, don't depend on just one source—whether that's a Reddit post, Instagram, YouTube video, or the institute's own content.

I personally came across a YouTuber who recommended Aspire to me and also does promotional content related to the institute. At the time, I naturally assumed the recommendation was simply based on what was working well for students. Looking back, I think it's better to understand the context behind any recommendation and check multiple independent student experiences before making a decision.

Also, if you try asking about Aspire on Reddit and happen to get replies that seem very one-sided, just take those opinions with a grain of salt and verify things yourself. 😂 Instagram/DMs can actually be a better way to directly talk to students who have studied there.

Again, this is only my personal experience as a former Aspire student. I'm not saying nobody can benefit from Aspire. I'm just saying that before spending your money, talk to multiple actual students and make your own decision.

Do your own research, talk to students directly, and then decide.

Day 12 of My NIMCET 2028 Journey – Had to Take a Break Due to Illness, Ready to Restart

It’s been a few days since my last update.
After dealing with a personal emergency, I also fell sick, which led to a 4-day break from my studies.
Honestly, it feels frustrating because I had built some momentum, but health comes first.
Instead of focusing on the break, I’m focusing on restarting.
My goal remains the same:
Crack NIMCET 2028
Strengthen Mathematics and Reasoning
Learn Python consistently
Balance BCA academics
The next step is simple: start again, one day at a time.
A short break doesn’t define the journey. What matters is coming back.
