parramatta support players break character

It was cool to see Parramatta support players trailing the ball blown away by Dylan Walkers backpedaling flick pass.

Are comments such as the 'Milkman' and 'Big Red' derogatory racist comments?

I have been hearing a few nicknames for the some of the NRL players that appear to have anglo european ancestory.

I personally find them a little uncomfortable. These are some of my fav players but hearing the nicknames feel a little cringe. Personally I dont like nicknames ans find them silly, let alone ones with a probable link to ones appearance.

It seems condecending and disrespectful.

I think we should treat people with respect and only call one by their respective name.

For example -

Thomas Jenkins of the Penrith Panters, commonly named 'Milkman' or 'Milky'. Is this a comment about the fact he always 'delivers' or has nordic white features? The fact he is called 'milky' seems quite obvious it is the latter.

Corey Horsburgh of the Canberra Raiders called 'Big-Red' appearing as a celtic white man with ginger hair. Seems to invoke the common racist stereotype of 'ginger' appearance.

Perhaps its time to have a conversation about the impact of these comments have on wider society. Especailly schools (imagine the bullying that goes on due to these commets) and perhaps the producers at certain entertainment conglomerates take heed it is 2026 and we should be respectful and considerate to everyones identity and appearance.

Thank you.

What happened to Jackson Hastings?

Solid player and provided stability in the spine. Good quality number 7.

He would be a good player for a team for experience. Hard done by the Knights in my view.
