COMSATS Islamabad (electronics preferably) vs. NUST CEME for Electrical Engineering (EE)?

I need some advice on choosing a university for Electrical Engineering.

I know NUST's main campus (H-12) is the top choice, but the merit is just too high. My second option there is NUST CEME. However, I’ve noticed that COMSATS has better global rankings and research output. I’ve heard COMSAT'S EE department is really underestimated, but at the same time, I hear people say COMSATS is mainly an IT/CS university, not a "core" engineering college. What is the reality?

I would really appreciate it if senior students (5th to 8th semester) from either university could share their experiences. Considering job opportunities and how manageable it is to maintain a good GPA, which one should I choose? Help me out!

Eme Environment

As a civilian how is eme

My family has had a few relatives going to army medical and all of them have negative experience saying that they don't treat civilians like cadets and look down on them

How are teachers in general in eme (CE specifically) like are they good arrogant a clear bias towards cadets

Is the Electrical Engineering program at CEME the same as the Islamabad campus (SEECS)?

I wanted to ask if the Electrical Engineering program at CEME is essentially the same as the one offered at Islamabad.

Is the curriculum/syllabus the same?
Are the labs and practical facilities comparable?
Is the equipment used in the labs similar? or same to the ones in isb

Overall, is the academic experience equivalent?

If anyone has the official Electrical Engineering syllabus for CEME, I'd really appreciate it if you could share it. I'm trying to compare it with the SEECS syllabus in detail.

Questions regarding the new BS Energy Engineering program (Fall 2026)

I heard NUST is introducing a BS in Energy Engineering this Fall. I know it broadly covers topics like renewable energy, power systems, smart grids, and sustainability, but does anyone have deeper insights into the actual syllabus?

Furthermore, since this is a brand new program, what do you guys think the closing merit is going to look like? higher or lower than mechanical ? well i think what ever its gonna be its surely not gonna get higher than electrical....

Also any one got any idea how many seats there gonna be ?

Do you have to wear uniform as a civilian in CEME

As the caption said someone told me that you you have to wear it for some time is it for the military cadets or for normal civilians as well.

Mechanical Engineering Scope in Pakistan and international opportunities

I have just finished my Fsc. exams. I want to pursue Mechanical engineering not because of pay or anything but because I like the field personally I am very interested in these kinds of things. My siblings are asking me to find scope for this field they say I should pursue medical. If there are any mechanical engineers in this subreddit, I would love to hear real world advice and your personal experiences as fresh graduates. I just want to know if its worth it because my brother says that I will be jobless. If there are any opportunities and high paying jobs Kindy let me know.

I plan on going to either PIEAS or UET, NUST is also an option.

NUST Mechanical Engineering Students Need Syllabus, Notes & YouTube Recommendations for First Semester

Assalam-o-Alaikum everyone,

anyone has:

Lecture notes

Handwritten notes

Slides/PPTs

Past papers

Assignments

Recommended books

Please share them with me. It would be a huge help.

For students who have already completed the first semester:

Which subjects were the most difficult?

Which topics should I study before classes start?

What mistakes should freshmen avoid?

Can you recommend the best YouTube channels/playlists for each major first-semester subject? Please mention:

Subject name

YouTube channel

Playlist/video link

Any advice from seniors regarding GPA, study strategy, and semester survival would also be appreciated.

Thank you.
