My NX500 :) off road tire recs?

Hey yall!! Been waiting for mod approval to post for a lil while (tysm btw mods!), I just wanted to share a pretty sunset photo of my bike :)

She’s my first bike, bought her late in the year last year and I’m loving riding in my first full season!! I’ve added these crash bars and luggage rigging that I’ve painted copper cause 💅🏻✨, I want to follow my bf off road eventually and do some moto-camping. What off road tires would you guys recommend? I have the skid plate I think it’s called on my list too, as well as taller wind screen cause I’m tall and feels like I’m riding a naked bike lol.

My new 2024 NX500

I completely forgot to post this right after getting it 2 weeks back. It's been a joy of a ride almost every day since picking it up. Brand new '24 that I was fortunate enough to find at a dealer earlier this year. I rode home about 120kms and have put an extra 400kms on in these last couple of weeks. Upgrading from a Yamaha V250 was so worth it. I'm 5'11" and this bike just boosted my riding confidence after about an hour on it.

Definitely needs more comfy seats for longer rides but I know together we'll conquer many kilometers!

Inspecting the coolant level - hard to see the coolant reserve tank?

I find it tricky to get enough visibility on the coolant reserve tank for checking coolant levels, since it's so hidden away inside the bike, behind the rear shock. I'm wondering if I'm just not seeing anything because there's not enough coolant, or just not having good visibility. Any tips? Shine a flashlight onto the tank in the dark?

Tyres, what you think?

Been on this for about 3 months, banged out nearly 10k kms.

Time for some new tyres.

Thinking tractionator gps front and rear. Do mostly hwy kms, 110km commute return daily, but dirt roads when I can on days off.

What do you think of these?

Best sun visor for blinding sun - recommendations

As the Brisbane winter sets in, my ride home from work is straight into the sun, it’s extremely blinding, hard to see, and obviously not ideal from a safety perspective.

I’m currently wearing a Shoei GT-Air II. My setup at the moment is:

Dark sunglasses
Internal drop-down tinted sun visor (not an external tinted visor)
Clear external visor

Even with all of that, the low, direct sun is still pretty brutal.

So I’m looking for recommendations on a tinted external visor (or any other proven solutions) that help with direct, low-angle sun. Keen to hear what’s worked well for others.

Nailed it!

Picked up a nail somewhere along a 100+ mile ride.. going to get it patched right given the size of the nail. Just plugged it for now. Make sure you’re checking those tires before every ride. A quick spin can go a long way.

Chronics and what to look for on a used nx500

The title speaks for itself but let me add a little. Recently sold my bike and looking for an nx500, I will be using the bike as a daily commuter during rush hours, also as a long distance (maybe once or twice in a year with a pillion) bike probably every two months I will be doing extended trips.

Are there any chronic problems that I should be looking for on a used one? What are some of the heads up about this bike?
