I joined the club!
I picked up my Nx500 Friday, and took her out to the Great Ocean Road, Victoria, Australia.
What a ride!
Being 55 years old I don't need a 1100cc racing machine anymore. This Honda ticks all the boxes :not too heavy, can handle the occasional gravel roads I encounter, nimble enough and handles extremely well.
Looking forward to much more riding here in Victoria!
I am getting an upgrade!
Hey guys! So yesterday I sold my CB300F and I'll get the NX 500. I'm so excited!
Do you have any recommendations on modifications or things I should get for my bike as soon as possible?
Installing auxiliary high beam lights, 2025 NX500
Any advice on finding the high beam wire to tap into for the the relay? I haven't started looking yet, saving the job for this weekend. The only legal way to install in NSW is to have the aux lights triggered by the high beam, so please no "just wire it directly to a switch".
Is there a NX 500 Owner’s Group/Community in Bangalore, India?
I am looking for NX500 owners group/community in Bangalore. To ride together and learn from.
Rear rack recommendation.
Honda sells a rack plus a 38-liter top case for €633. The rack is rated to support 6 kg (according to Honda), but excluding the weight of the top case, you're essentially spending more than €600 to load 3 kg... absurd.
I started researching the aftermarket, and the only companies selling racks that support 10 kg (including the plate, top case, and top case contents) are:
Shad with the H0CX55ST rack (about €100), to which you need to add the universal Givi E251 plate (about €40) for Givi top cases, or Shad top cases with the plate included.
Sw-Motech. Street rack rack for about €190, to which you need to add the Street Rack plate for Givi or Shad, another €40.
Shad and Givi top cases can hold a maximum of 10 kg inside, some models even less, 6 kg, 4 kg, and weigh an average of about 5 kg (capacity about 40 liters). Prices range from €130 for the Givi brand to over €200 for the Shad.
Removing the weight of the top cases, we can load a maximum of 5 kg inside.
So, would someone spend a total of €250 to €400 to carry just 5 kg on a trip?
It all seems absurd to me.
Do I have to stick to these kg limits for the racks, or can I load more?
I'd like to at least fill the top cases with 8 kg of content.
My first bike ❤️
Good morning everyone, for my first bike, I'm leaning toward the Honda NX 500 E-Clutch, which I'll equip for touring.
It will be for all-around use: city riding (with many bumpy roads), home/work, day trips, and even long trips, mostly on country roads rather than highways (mostly without a passenger), with some easy dirt roads if possible.
My question is, for someone who's 1.75m tall and weighs 80kg, how does the stock seat perform on long journeys, and is the riding position comfortable enough?
