Hey yall, single straight male here looking to make friends. Been living in the city for roughly 3 years. I’m into basketball, running, hip hop. I spend too much time watching basketball podcasts on YouTube. I just bought a full-frame mirrorless camera but have no idea how to use it yet lol. I’m Latino but don’t really speak Spanish ( I understand it though). I’m from Maryland (go Terps!). I’m a software engineer in tech; have been pretty busy with interview prep as of late. I want to learn about social media marketing and start-ups but haven’t made the time. I plan on living here for a very long time (unless I get offered a job opportunity of a lifetime elsewhere… then maybe I’d reconsider). My living situation is very stable. I don’t drink but I’m open to bars. I live a sober life. HMU

I’ve been working out by myself for about 2 years now and while I’ve enjoyed sculpting my body I do feel like something’s missing. At the very least I’d like a workout partner that can keep me on my Ps and Qs..but ultimately I’d like to build it into a community that will always be there for each other and keep each other motivated!

Ideally I’d like for the meetup to be somewhere local where we all can meet which I figure would be Central Park. Or there can be a different location for each week at a calisthenics park.

Time/day would be 12-3pm every Sunday or whenever really. I’m assuming everyone goes out for night activities on this day so why not knockout the work early and get it over with?

Hello there! I'm 27M and brand new to NYC. I would love to meet some new people and form genuine friendships. I (30 M) just moved to NYC and hoping to find a social life. I know how hard it is to make friends as adults and I am already doing the things i need to do so far like going to activities and rec leageus etc.

I am very introverted and still very much struggle at these events to make connections with people. I struggle to share things about myself and ask others as well. I tend to sit at home because of this.

has anyone else faced similar challenges and found ways to make real friends? how do you go from baseline level to actual friends?

are there events you do that regularly meet like a rec league but something else like volunteering or some activity that has helped?
