Hi! I’m 33F living in Midtown East and looking to expand my social circle and make genuine connections with people around my age. 😊

A bit about me: I’m into photography, filmmaking, psychology/philosophy, and I enjoy deep convos over small talk. I enjoy spending time digesting art at museums/galleries, especially super technical work. But I’m also perfectly happy just wandering around.

black F + manhattan, transplant of about 2 years here! quite a few of my friends live in brooklyn (and open to meeting more!) but would love to meet more people in the city as well! it would be dope to have people nearby who can just pull up to a local bar, grab dinner, see a movie, etc. on a random weeknight. i have more of a loose network of friends rn so would also be interested in forming or being integrated into a friend group :)

i'm into language learning (currently french + my heritage language), reading (mostly literary fiction, lots of mieko kawakami lately), cooking, fashion/design, movies + random classes/workshops (perfume making, flower arranging, etc). also would love to join a book club! love travel too—recently MTL + miami and hoping to do CDMX/maybe amsterdam soon :)

nightlife person and pretty open genre-wise: electronic (particularly a house head), indie, reggaeton/neoperreo, afrobeats/dancehall, r&b, etc. very down to go to whatever random event popped up on your partiful/dice/resident advisor (sometimes even on a weekday!) but equally down to have a picnic, walk around your favorite park, see a movie, or just sit somewhere and be kind of annoying.

i've been trying to be more intentional about decreasing my screen time + being present in the real world, so trying to open myself up to more spontaneity and actually Doing Things. i've been working/traveling a ton this summer so feel a little out of the loop 😭 would love to get back into stuff like lectures/book talks, art festivals, open streets, gallery stuff, random pop-ups, etc.

i work in healthcare/social services (very advocacy-focused) and would be down to bring more of that into my non-work life too- i've been to a couple events at the people's forum and am interested in more community organizing/volunteering/teach-ins etc. my career isn't particularly creative, so i also love basically any opportunity to consume/make/learn about art.

some places i frequent/have enjoyed, for an unnecessarily specific vibe check: elsewhere, damballa, baby's all right, pianos, 99 scott, jean's, the ripple room, poster house, noguchi museum, cooper hewitt, little island (one of my fave parks <3), AMC (a-list baby), angelika, BAM, the strand, rizzoli, NYPL, 2nd street, tokio 7, the people's forum, sugarfish, r/rs_x (iykyk), etc.

I’m 40F, childfree, and work a corporate Monday–Friday job. I’d love to meet some other remote/hybrid workers who are up for getting out of the house once in a while—trying new coffee shops or places to work, grabbing lunch, or occasionally deciding to log off a little early and enjoy the day.
I’m also a newer car enthusiast and have been getting into making some small modifications to my car, with hopes of eventually taking on some bigger projects.
I love food and cooking, and I’m always up for trying a new restaurant, finding a great cocktail spot, or spending an evening cooking something new at home. I enjoy the beach too, although I definitely haven’t made it there nearly enough this summer!
Mostly, I’m just looking to meet good people and build some genuine friendships. I’m open to connecting with anyone who enjoys good conversation, trying new things, and doesn’t mind making the occasional spontaneous plan.

Hi! I used to be part of a weekly film club where we'd watch a film out at a theatre, or someone's apartment if there was space and they felt comfortable hosting. I really miss the routine, and also have wanted to do it frequently Sunday nights to fight the Sunday scaries.

Does anyone know of any existing Sunday film clubs, or is interested in starting one together?

If starting, am thinking we would start with a few at a theatre in Brooklyn (we can choose once we have a critical mass and know everyone's commute), and maybe get a few drinks after if we are vibing.
