Hi! Working on a really tight budget for an elopement this October in New York. I'd like to ask if a budget of $300 for hair and makeup realistic? Will I be able to find a good one within this budget?

Or am I better off going to a salon near our hotel?

**Photography + Videography:** Budget around **$5K total**. Would especially love a team that can incorporate **film photography/video** if possible.

**Florist/Decor:** Budget around **$4.5K**. Looking for a romantic, elegant, candlelit feel with organic greenery and delicate white flowers — beautiful but not overly elaborate. Our venues has lots of wood and green seems to look amazing.

**City Hall Shoot:** Also looking for a photographer available for a short **NYC City Hall/couple shoot in mid-to-late October**, ideally around **$500**.

**Live Music:** I would love for a **cellist, violinist, or string quartet** to play during cocktail hour. Open to recommendations for something elegant and romantic. Open to discuss more on pricing.

We're having about 85 people at Greenpoint Loft in October. Family photos are going to take at least 45 minutes because relatives are coming in from three different airports and getting everyone into position is going to be a mess.

For the 90-minute cocktail hour, we currently have Campbell & Co doing passed bites, a phone setup from VoiceMento by the stairs, and Magic Mike Jacobson doing close-up stuff while people walk around.

I'm starting to stress that 90 minutes is too long for people to just stand around with drinks. Did anyone who used Greenpoint Loft add extra lounge furniture on the main floor? Or should we request a second bartender just to keep the line moving? How did you keep the timeline from dragging before dinner starts?

Hi everyone! I’m starting to look for a venue/restaurant for a 2027 wedding and would love any recommendations!

We’re thinking around 100 people, but we don’t have a date set yet and are pretty flexible on the time of year.

The biggest thing for me is having a really good space for a DJ and a dance floor — I want this to feel more like a huge fun party where everyone is dancing all night rather than a traditional wedding. 😂

We’re actually not doing a ceremony at the venue (we’ll be doing that separately at City Hall), and I’m still flexible on the food situation. I could definitely see us doing a more traditional seated dinner, but I’m also open to something more relaxed like grazing tables, passed apps, stations, or a mix of dinner + more casual late-night food options throughout the night.

Ideally, I’d love to keep the venue + open bar + food around $20–30k total.
Looking for:
● Manhattan, Brooklyn, or Queens
● ~100 guests
● LOTS of room/space for dancing + DJ
● Open bar
● Flexible food options (seated dinner, stations, or more cocktail-style grazing ideas)

Looking for a non-traditional venue to host a winter wedding in NYC/ NJ. Guest count ~ 100. Would love skyline views or an outdoor nature view despite it being winter. Since we are deciding last minute for this December a lot of venues are sold out. The ones that are now will host ceremonies indoor which makes it similar to a usual ballroom. The main caveat is that they have to allow outside catering for Indian food. Budget ~ 70K for the day

Our Coordinator/Day-Of Support resource has experienced an emergency and is now not available to support our events on Friday August 21 (rehearsal/welcome dinner) and Saturday August 22 (bride prep on UWS, church wedding on UES and reception at the Bowery Hotel). We are looking for an experienced emergency resource with availability starting now (to orient, confirm vendors, finalize timeline, etc.) through our dates above. Typical support requirements including dropping hotel welcome bags at 4 locations, vendor reachouts for confirmation/coordination, transportation coordination, in person support at all events). Prefer an experienced coordinator who is familiar with The Bowery Hotel venue. Compensation offered $4,000 all in. Will require immediate attention and commitment. Hi! Planning a 2027 wedding and trying to make it intentional, not instagram-able. My fiancée and I have decided to have an intimate ceremony and dinner party with family and closest friends then the next day do a dance party with all our friends.

I want to know: what were the most special and memorable parts of your wedding? Can be part of your day’s schedule or wedding format, a meaningful decor item, a really fun part of the celebration etc. But something that really made a difference in your experience, not just a great photo.

I got married in early June and still haven’t gotten my pictures yet (it’s been a little over two months). How long does it typically take to receive wedding photos?

My other concern is that I’ve emailed the photographer twice to ask when I should expect the photos and have received no response. I’ve only received automated messages from her post-wedding. At this point should I reach out again? Is it inappropriate to text her? We texted her a few times during the wedding planning process, for context.

I’m considering Central Park Boathouse for my wedding and I wanted to see if anyone else has gotten married with with a similar guest count. My guest count is 200 which is their max capacity. If you had similar, did it feel crowded? Did it feel like enough room for a dance floor area with a band?
