I was suppose to be in the academy sep 30 class but I got DQd. My best guess is because I was fired from a job for falling asleep. And honestly it’s all because I was applying for the NYPD I started falling asleep on my downtime at work. I was doing my citizenship (that alone was a lot), the online credits , and I worked overnight shift at a hospital also I had a day job for 3 hours.all at once. I’ve always had two jobs that wasn’t the issue. The issue was getting all the requirements for the NYPD started my problems. I was very honest to the doctor , I took responsibility and basically said i bit off more than I can chew (pause) at the time. I took full responsibility that I’m the reason for losing my job and that it was a learning curve. Trial and error and I’ve learned from my mistakes. I wanna go at it again because I worked so hard just to get this far and I don’t wanna come this far just to come this far. Does anybody have any advice or what is even the next step I should take ?
I received a NOPD for emotion regulation/stress tolerance. Just for some background context. I disclosed to my psychologist that i had thoughts of self harm and never went through with it back in 9th grade. In highschool I joined the JROTC, did athletics such as wrestling and lacrosse. I never seek for any therapy and just joined programs to open new perspectives on life. I am now 21 I am a volunteer firefighter, uphold a part time job, full time student starting college with a 3.0 to now 3.68 gpa Deans list every year.
Is it better to just withdraw or do I have a better chance to trying to appeal it? I am leaning towards more appealing it but want to see the worse case scenarios.
If appealing and seeking MPH will ruin my chances for the next times i apply if i don’t pass?
Should I just appeal with a statement highlighting all the things ive done to change my approaches on taking stressful situations with not MPH?
