Last in my “is it worth it or not” line of reviews (and if I was to continue this series i’d need a second job), The Kaleidoscope Collective. Roughly around the same price of the North Fork Cannabis Co., I picked up their TKC’s Desert Mints and it provided a very similar experience. High expectations from the steep price for great bud that isn’t perfect.

The flower is beautiful, smelled a little more complex and loud than the North Fork. Smell translated to taste, not overtly but you could taste the Mintz on a dry pull and throughout. Pretty smooth however didn’t burn the cleanest. High was a pretty strong mood uplift and body relaxing experience. Was expecting more of a sleepy experience but wasn’t as sedating as I thought it’d be.

The flower is solid, top tier, just the price isn’t. Which, in my humble opinion, is something you’ll find with any brand over $50. It goes from being very solid flower to mid the moment you start charging quarter prices for eighths. I enjoyed it yes and would even recommend for someone’s lineup but at the price, this is a novelty not a go to.

Picked up from Planet Nugg for $65+tax. I was going there to pick up a new PuffCo pivot since they had the pine color and saw this new drop as well. I had 15% off so figured might as well. Price is really solid for a quarter oz and budtenders said good things about the other strain they had.

Bag Appeal 9/10: This jar is really nice. It’s heavy and dark and seems to seal good. There was no additional seal inside but the buds were very fresh and sticky. Nice color and nice trichomes. This is above my expectations for this price range.

Smell 7.5/10: It is a touch muted but very nice smell from what you get. Warm fruit and pine notes come thru the most which I always enjoy. I wish it was louder but it only tested 0.96% terpenes. Personally I think it is a bit higher terps than the lab says because wouldn’t under 1% have no nose or taste?

Taste 7.5/10: Following the smell its the same notes and I like that. It comes through as much as the nose. Was not very harsh but I have had smoother as well. For the price it is still very solid.

Effects 8/10: High is very nice body high. Very relaxing but isn’t knocking me out. Some wanna be knocked out but personally I enjoy this type of indica high where I feel better but not dead. This one was lowkey nice for pain relief I been pretty sore and right now I feeling pretty ok.

Overall 8/10: I knew of Jerome Baker for glasswork but never knew they were dropping flower until I saw it. Honestly I would put this in my daily/budget smoke rotation if it was around regularly.

First up in the “is it worth it or not” series of reviews is North Fork Cannabis Co. which has been pretty popular on the interwebs for some time now. At $68 post tax you start to think to yourself am I getting worked over here or what? Long story short yeah a bit but not for the reason you think.

Starting with the flower I can’t say it’s not premium and at the top of the class. Presentation, condition of the flower, effects, burn, all amazing. Smoking this effects are immediately notable as my head felt like it was growing in size and senses were tingling like my name is Peter Parker. Smooth as all hell and burned perfect. Smell was a bit muted, slightly like piney but not crazy. Taste was slightly citrusy sour. Nothing jumped out in flavor which at the price point you would really hope for.

That is the real crux of the issue at hand though. At $68, expectations of product are way too high for any one to match it. Especially when there are micros already providing better or matching flower at $50 pretax. I’m not saying the bud isn’t good, or that the growers work isn’t worth top dollar. Instead i’m arguing from the position that an eighth should never be over $50 pre tax, and if you are charging that price or more it better be damn near a ten outta ten. I like what this company is doing, their labeling is beautiful and informative, the work is obvious, but it isn’t perfect and this steep price makes me want it to be.

1st picture: Candy Rain rosin

Taste: perfect mix of sweetness and gas, very strong taste.

Smell: Very strong opened the outer box and was immediately hit with a very sweet weed smell. Smells exactly like it would taste

Potency: Hits just as hard as any other topshelf rosin brand, its an indica but the high is pretty clear and doesn't wind you down much. relaxing and clear headed.

Overall: amazing stuff, typically I think it's like 80/g at the place I went to without tax but I used points I saved up for a deal. If you're willing to pay that price point this rosin will not disappoint, the texture is kinda hard to work with it's very "wet" but the taste is crazy.

2nd photo: Hashburger rosin

Taste: Straight weed kinda hard to explain the specifics but if you've had the resin its a lot like that but "smoother", the taste Isn't as potent as the resin, more subtle but lingers for a while after the exhale.

Smell: Not a super strong smell, don't pop out too much, hash/gas when you got a closer whiff.

Potency: This one will KO you, very strong head and body high that makes you want to relax. perfect for night time. Small dabs had me put down my puffco after a pull.

overall: Happy with my purchase. 75/g at my dispensary near me pretty pricey but not that crazy. I see tons of black market brands selling 2gs at 140-150 that's not a crazy price for top quality stuff.

3rd photo: Sour Diesel live resin

Taste: True to strain, good diesel/gas taste. comes through amazingly well at 2.2-2.4 volts

potency: Hit's hard for me, very energetic high great for daytime use.

Overall: MFNY killed it with this one imo I planned to save it for a memorial weekend trip but imma have to buy another if I want it to make it through that weekend lol. If you like the strain you'll love this one.

4th photo: The Belafonte live resin

Taste: This is one of my favorites carts for taste out of anything I've tried, I always love grabbing this strain from MFNY. Very complex sweet flavor. MFNY kills it with this strain.

Potency: Amazing fo daytime use as well. A hit or two will give you a nice buzz and won't be overpowering, however this cart can be perfect for end of days too.

Overall: If you haven't had MFNYs belafonte you're missing out! I see most dispenser have them at discounts you can get one for like 30-35 dollars. definitely worth it.

Not bot lol, ill try to ask again. Im genuinely wondering if anyone tried this brand out before I test it myself. Scooped jetty dazed & confused, rhythm animal scout in live resin and live rosin. Jetty can confirm smacks. I usually stick to my coldfires since nothing comes close but a few brands here do come near That level. Jetty so far has been my favorite.

Upon opening I was met with a bit of a hay smell, but if you try really hard you can smell a bit of citrus. Buds were all small and pretty larpy. Felt a bit dry, but had a good bit of spice flavor. Good solid high though. Good head buzz and a good bit of couch lock. I’d give it a 7/10
