Update! We finally named this little corgi! Also a PSA to puppy parents!
Update on my previous post titled… “I’m having a hard time choosing a name for this little corgi. Pop culture or food names preferred”
I absolutely loved all the suggestions, but we settled on Floki, after he ate my (clicker) hoop nose ring right off my face! 😱
So we felt the puppy earned his Viking name by pillaging and hiding valuables... inside his stomach. 😂
Floki has been seen by emergency vet, his regular vet, had x rays several times and has finally been given the all clear! 🩻
🚨Very important PSA to puppy parents:
Make sure your jewelry can't be pulled off! I thought it happening with earrings but never my nose ring! ⚠️
When it comes to things like jewelry inducing vomiting usually fails and did with Floki. Even when it does work it's dangerous because it can cause damage on the way up. 🤮
Puppies this small are often not candidates for retrieval via endoscopy because their esophagus is too small. This often means they will need a highly dangerous and invasive surgery where your pup is cut from breast bone to pelvis and a surgeon has to handle their delicate paper thin organs.😧
We got incredibly lucky that he passed it without issue particularly because my hoop didn’t have a sharp end and partially due to the help of the emergency vet. However, even with the best possible outcome it was dangerous, terrifying and very expensive! 💸
Be smarter than me!! 🙏🧠
