Finding a breeder

Hello dog breeders of Reddit, I have no idea what I’m doing and I’ve asked a similar question in the past but I’m committed to it now.

How do I get into breeding? I want to breed rough collies that conform to the breed standard and strong herding instinct, I want them to make excellent service dog prospects or show dog prospects.

I don’t really know where to start and hope to get my first potential dog to start in around 2028-ish but of course I’m willing to wait for the perfect breeder and the perfect dog!

Any pointers on where to start with a breeding program? I can be patient and do whatever I need to in regards to ethics, health testing, and titling.

me and my rough collie have so far been in only two junior shows!

I was hoping to maybe get some critique on our stack, and maybe the way were presenting and if there’s anything I should know about showing a rough coated collie.

(I don’t stand like that in the ring the way I am in the photo, i was only standing like that so the main focus of the picture was my dog and not myself)
