Feast invite
Has anyone here who completed their online assessment this month received an invite?

Hello everyone. Today I received the email that I am eligible for course offer. While I'm absolutely ecstatic with this news, I still have the feeling that this could all still be ripped away. I'm confident that my background check, medical, and references will all be satisfactory, but is there still the possibility that my application could still be denied at this stage for other reasons? Has anyone been rejected after they became eligible for reasons other than the pre employement requirements?
I'm from the Surrey, Newton area of British Columbia, I've been looking into air traffic control but I'm still not educated on it. Basically reaching out to see if anyone has similar experience or advice, preferably from the Vancouver or surrey area but anyone's 2 cents is welcome. I want to get insight into this field, anything would help, I'm 22.
No shame, but it’s something I’m starting to worry about now that I’m in the offer stage.
Anything you would do differently?
From reading the threads I have learned you can bid out to different towers after 2 years of qualification (subject to seniority and operational needs). Bidding down can only happen after 6 years of qualification.
What rule exists if a VFR employee wants to bid to IFR?
If they are successful, how does that work? I’m assuming you need to qualify at the ACC. Do you retain your current VFR salary during? What happens if you fail?
Lastly (unrelated) - is YOW sought after tower?
Thanks!!!
I completed the initial assessment in July for Toronto, but looking around here it sounds like there is often a long wait until receiving the Feast invitation.
I hear that they are on a hiring push so maybe they are speeding things up a little?
edit: speak of the devil, got my invitation just now.
I came across this article and saw they were having trouble recruiting Air Traffic Controllers for the Kingston area? Is there any way to apply externally for a position or is it through the Toronto catchment area?
Thanks!
what’s your shift schedule and sleep times look like as a controller? curious how people manage the changing shifts and especially midnight shifts while maintaining regular sleep
NAV sent me an invitation to do the FEAST test but the time slots they gave were in the same week and I had other plans so couldn’t choose any of them but they told me to choose that no slot is available and they will re invite me again. Just wanted to confirm: are they going to re invite me? And how much time normally it takes to get a re invitation? Thank you!
Prospective VFR candidate here. Questions about training lengths for each tower.
I get the length of the OJT training varies based on many variables. That said, does anybody know the average length of time one usually stays on OJT training at, lets say, YUL vs YHU vs YOW?
The official training length written on the nav canada website shows anywhere between 6-18 months for OJT. Trying to get an idea of what to expect.
Thanks!
