Are there any moments from NITW you identified with?

I played NITW when I was 16. Now, playing this game being 23 hurts a lot since many moments Mae is going through are... kind like my actual struggles. So I need your experiences or opinions. Did they help you somehow when you played some scenes?

My nitw vinyl didn't arrive yet

I pre-ordered it back in may so I'm not sure if it was supposed to arrive by now

If anyone here has ordered it yet, please tell me whether I'm the only one. Idk, maybe I'm just a bit impatient lmao

Human Mae WIP

Screenshot from my stream so ignore my avatar 😆

One day I'll finish it... Once I catch up with commissions orz

Of note about how I picked how I wanted her to look:

I think because of the dialog in game she could be chunky, curvy, or like a bit on the flat side but with a bit of weight on. Whatever weight she has doesn't seem to impact her mobility. In game we've gotten comments from her and I think a family member? But she's an unreliable narrator and overly hard on herself. I personally like depicting her about my weight but less 'top heavy' because that has impaired my own mobility and I used to climb EVERYTHING.

As for ethnicity, as a Hispanic I heavily identify with her family dynamics, education history, and financial situation. But it sounds like her family has been in that town for many generations so another possible human depiction could be African American cause, you know, *gestures at African American history and policy effects on their generational wealth or lack thereof*. Another option is white of a background that was considered "less than" or "not the right kind of white" and could have affected opportunities in the past for her family, think Irish, Italian, Jewish, etc.

I know they took out the remarks from that old gator when you leave your house but I think there is still some subtle things that remained from when they were going with showing discrimination was an issue she also dealt with.

If you also identify with her and her family let me know how! I'm only sure of the latino perspective here and I'd like to see how other people feel!

Mods if this is too much let me know and edit or repost without the details/discussion prompt. I understand discussion could spiral so i trust your judgement o7 you know this community better than I do.
