Read this before getting into nirma...

I am a recent graduate of the Institute of Technology. With a compulsory minor. and have been receiving DM's about admission and related so i thought to make a small post about how i see and feel nirma now.

Let's start with the events first (why not) many people might be taking admission for the college life they have seen in the bollywood and Hollywood movies, events and all but let me tell you. There are literally no events for which you'd be excited and enjoy, make new friends and meet new cultures as well as experiences. Once in a while sometimes something happens and a good event might come up but before you know it's gone.

And with the restriction of 85% attendance even if there is some ok-ok event but you want to attend you'll not attend cause everyone knows you might want to take random leave or maybe feel dont want to attend for those days you won't risk attendance for such events that are not so important.

In fact my own class never had a single successful massbunk cause there are many students whose attendance is very less. Sometimes you'll feel bad for them and also every batch has one gandu who’s life is just to lick professor’s.

Lets keep events aside and focus on teaching. nirma is stuck in their 2010’s syllabus and evaluation era. In every 5 to 6 weeks there will be one examination. And evaluation scheme such that you cant afford to skip some. just exam after exam no creativity in the syllabus nor examination process just factory of making kitabi-kida. The teaching scheme is also very shallow, if we conduct competitive examinations of current students such as GATE or BARC one, hardly 5% student may pass.

I am not saying that every student should learn that much in depth but at least 60-70% of the competitive examination syllabus should be covered right ?. I am saying all of this after comparing nirma with some of the top-50 private universities syllabus, examination and evaluation scheme.  And learning from the professors of many different universities, and not for short term, i was with them for longer duration such as 1-2 months.

One particular incident I remember was when my friend (from a top 50 university) at that time was in third year and used to be my junior. He made only his end semester examination shifted to six months back with just one phone call to his HOD and no he was not hod’s favorite or anything just regular student. And mind you whatever they were doing from that university there are at least 20 to 30 students each year who got LPA more than 50. And in that university there is no restriction to choose for placements or higher studies; one can even sit for multiple companies even though they have offers in hand. And while he graduated his resume had 12 months of actual industry experience, skills and knowledge.

Can i come in your college ??

Hello! I’m a content creator, and I make funny videos where I interview people. I’ve recently started creating content. Would it be okay if I came to your college and made some content there?

What are the placement scenarios in cse?

7th semester guys are having placement season. Some of my classmates told me it’s lower than their expections? Even the median and avg is going down this year. Is that true?

Hey seniors, I'd love to get your advice on how to prep efficiently.

PYQs works here?

And how strictly do evaluators grade answer length vs. concise points?

Any tips or common mistakes to avoid would be super helpful!
