Commute time?
What is your typical/average commute time when driving over the causeway? When do you leave and what time do you arrive at work? Do you work in the CBD? Very curious about people that live north of I-12. Thanks for any info.

(22f) is there anywhereeee here to make friends? i’m very crafty and i love little nerd things! i have no clue where to meet people!
(22m)I've been living in Mandeville for the past few months and I'm getting real exhausted of sitting in my house doing not much of anything. Genuinely just really need some place to go with loud music and drinks and a crowded space.
Any nightclubs, raves, or alt(goth/emo/scene/wtvr) within an hour drive are extremely welcome suggestions please!
I waited until dark, swallowed my pride, and let all the headlights pass by so I could stealthily check out and grab something to eat tonight from the 2 closest community boxes in Mandeville. First one had canned carrots, rotel tomatoes, corn and some books. The 2nd box had more rotel, carrots and a single can of no salt pinto beans. I grabbed the pintos.
I've never used the community boxes before but this week is... a real doozy. From the pictures of them on Facebook, I thought they would have maybe a can of spaghettios? I don't want to sound ungrateful and I'm not picky at all! I just feel so defeated and can't help but think people who didn't actually need it came and wiped them out.
I have 11 cents in my account until Wednesday, but I will be replacing the pintos I took. I pray that I can eventually donate more. Something that can pass as a meal.
My son is big into bolt action and warhammer. We are PCSing to the area at the end of the month. Where are some good places for a 16 year old to play?
If you’ve been personally victimized by this local bully, let’s hear about it. She’s quick to drag other people but the moment anyone speaks about her she gets her “lawyers”.
She talks about other people’s drama and dark times and monetizes off of it on Facebook.
She calls people out for things she’s done herself, including sleeping with peoples husbands. She sends threatening and abusive texts to people’s phones when they stand against her. She’s a sad excuse for a human being.
If you’re sick of this bully, let’s figure out a way to quiet her.
I just moved to Slidell from Atlanta. 43 y/o experienced as a gigging semi-pro musician.
Currently inspired by "The Spiritual Sound" from Agriculture and "Stillicide" from Helms Alee. Torche, Melvins, Fugazi are some other influences.
I'm looking for ppl to play big noisy riffs with on baritone guitar, or bass is awesome too. Looking to collaborate and write heavy music that's fun to play and interesting to listen to.
Edit, guys the dagger has been claimed, I still have the football tho,
I have some Lord of the rings memorabilia I inherited from my dad, I don't really like Lord of the ring so I'm not really interested in keeping them and would rather add to my college fund, I haven't had the best of luck selling other items at second and Charles so I'm seeing if there's other options, TIA.
If you live near Heavens Dr, Kimberly Ann Dr, or Laurel Oak Dr and this drill is driving you and your family insane because it’s on all day every day vibrating the entire house then I urge you to call and file a complaint at the St Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office at 985-898-2338. Apparently this has to do with the parish and and the only way they can do something about it is if a complaint is filed through them. Do not call Mandeville PD.
NOW for my rant. It is one thing for this drill to be on during work hours, HOWEVER, that is not the case. It was on from 6:30 am till midnight last night blasting through my entire home making it unbearable to do anything. You can’t even go up stairs in my home without your brain feeling like it’s rattling in your head.
I am awake right now at 6:30 and sure enough my head is f**king blasting. It sounds like an extremely loud bass going through the entire house at ALL waking hours of the day. How is this okay?
Please please please if this is bothering you as well, I urge you to file a complaint so we can do something about this insane noise disturbance.
Decades ago there was Gamers Conclave by the old WinnDixie now Altitude/Crunch fitness. Google isn’t finding me anything. Looking for a card shop that buys, sells, and trades. Anything like that around here?
St. Tammany President Mike Cooper vetoed two controversial rezoning measures approved last week by the parish council, a rare move that could throw two planned subdivisions in the Goodbee area into doubt.
The subdivisions are set to be located on a 264-acre tract and a smaller 31-acre tract that together were approved to add up to 800 homes. Area residents showed up to chambers en masse at the council's monthly meeting Thursday to try and persuade the council to vote down the measures, saying any new construction in the area could pile on to existing flooding and traffic problems.
Instead, the large tract for the “Isadora” subdivision was approved by an 8-6 vote and the smaller tract for the “Esperanza” subdivision was approved 10-4.
Hello fellow Northshore Buds. Please enjoy this completely unbiased recommendation for a comedy show that I am absolutely not involved in producing.
Okay, I’m producing it.
Some of y’all might remember me as the former owner of The Hideaway Den & Arcade here in Mandeville. We used to put on a ton of live comedy there, and after a few years away from producing shows, I apparently decided I missed the stress.
So fellow comedian Keegan O’Connell and I are bringing comedy back to Mandeville with a new monthly comedy show at Rubys Roadhouse.
Keegan and I have both been doing stand-up for 10+ years, and our goal is pretty simple: bring some of the best comedians from New Orleans and around the Gulf South over to the Northshore once a month.
Our first show is Thursday, August 20, with Mallory Head headlining and Kevin Little, Morgan Dantone and Terence Delaine.
And we’ve got another great Northshore local involved! Chafunkta Brewing Company is our official beer sponsor, and we’ll have some small Chafunkta giveaways during the show.
Doors at 7:30pm Show at 8pm
$10 cash or Venmo at the door.
No Ticketmaster. No service fees. No two-drink minimum. Just come to Rubys, give us ten bucks, grab a beer and enjoy some live comedy.
Hope to see some of y’all there. 🍻
New activity now available at Indian Hills Nudist Park. When should we do another one?
Check your account. I recently learned that I "saved -20%" on a defective ladder.
Wondering what a septic system install(total cost) is running roughly in Abita springs/unincorporated mandeville
Thanks in advance
We’re moving to Mandeville next month with our toddler, and I've been looking around the area for good parks, trails, and local spots.
Someone suggested joining a local Facebook mom group to build a community and find playdates, but when I searched, so many options popped up that I got a bit overwhelmed! I’m not super active on social media, but I really connect with creators who keep parenting real and relatable (think Emily Feret vibes).
Does anyone have recommendations for friendly, casual, low-pressure mom groups or toddler meetups in Mandeville or the Northshore area? Would love to connect with other parents in the same stage of life!
Looking for a private nail artist on the Northshore. I’ve just had too many bad experiences at salons and my nails are also really thin so want someone that will be able to help me with that!
