Had a really funny dream about Mihawk (non romantic/ safe for work)

So I had a dream last night where there was a theatre company that would take a storyline you written and hired actors to act it out with you like this large improv larping convention and unfortunately for him Mihawk was one of the actors. And I don’t mean Mihawk’s actor was one of the actors I mean actual Mihawk was hired as one of the actors. I guess he needed the extra berry I don’t know. And he was not exactly thrilled about it. But he was so cool and so popular he just kept getting dragged from story to story by all these different players. People kept getting his name wrong, he would have to be the romantic hero or the villain or the sexy side piece character, he had to be everything. So to cope he would go to the bar they had there and just slammed whiskeys one after another. His face was like the picture above. He was so done with everyone’s shit. But in this dream he had the ability to change his form and by the end of the dream he was so drunk and so stressed he turned himself into a black scorpion and stung anyone who tried to pull him into a scene.
That’s when I woke up and I was thinking “Wow I hope be’s okay cause he is gonna have a massive hang over.”
Anyways, that was the dream. Hope it made someone giggle.

Mihawk gives jaded teacher vibes

Maybe because my school year is so close to ending but Mihawk here with Zoro just radiates to me a very jaded educator up against an annoying and overly confident student disrupting class.

German Actor in South Africa

German actor David Schütter has been seen on Joe Manganiello’s Instagram with other One Piece actors, including fellow German actor Lera Abova. Recently, he was also seen in one of Emilio Sakraya’s Instagram posts. Emilio is another German actor rumored to play >!Koza!< and based on recent posts is currently in South Africa. This means David has been spending a lot of time in South Africa. Is he part of the cast, or is he spending time there with his actor friends? Is he dating Lera? Some people have speculated that he might play >!Koza!< but that role seems more likely to be played by Emilio. If he’s in the show who could he play?

EDIT: I think he could be a great >!Sabo!<

Potential Couple in Season 3 (?)

Do you think they're going to lean more into a romantic undertone for Vivi and Koza in season 3, like they did with Usopp and Kaya in season 1? I could see Netflix pushing that narrative, and maybe it could happen since one of them is not a Straw Hat. I'm not saying they should turn it into a romantic subplot (which would probably hurt the overall story), but add just enough to enhance the story and potentially make Koza a more memorable and interesting character.

And while we're at it, another pair they could hint at is Smoker and Hina (if Hina is in season 3).

I just watched ALL of the live action series. My thoughts.

So the acting and everything was super on point and its VERY accurate to the manga, I was impressed. I think my favorite episode is Season 1 Episode 7, the one with Nami's backstory. The part where she was screaming and they were taking the money away from her legit gave me chills - the actress for Nami did an AMAZING job. Oh and the scene where she asked Luffy to help her was great, too.

And I loved Chopper and his backstory. This show is honestly great, I hope they make more seasons.

Where should I start after I finish one piece live action season 2?

I’m about to finish the live action and pick up from where the story leaves off in the anime, how many episodes do the two seasons cover and what episode should I start with?

You know what I like about Wapol being giving the Munch Munch fruit?

We see that Wapol has a very insane appetite, to the point that he's always eating.

In the anime and when you look it up, The Munch Munch fruit gives you an endless appetite, meaning you're always hungry.

Baroque works likely gave him the fruit because he wouldn't even notice the endless appetite.

Kind of hilarious and clever.

In season 3...

Luffy losing to crocodile will have no impact. Let's talk about contrast, shall we? Contrast causes your hand to feel extra cold after being in something warm. It also causes warm baths to feel extra nice in cold weather. Contrast is good.

Luffy, in the first few arcs of the manga, is very strong. Not overpowered, but he can definitely hold his own. He doesn't dominate, but he never feels like he's constantly on the backfoot and needs help.

That makes the contrast of his loss to crocodile, his first major loss, so much better and sweeter in the manga. It adds so much extra shock, Luffy felt like a protagonist, like an unstoppable force, until now, and suddenly we're reminded, Luffy is still a rookie.

This moment builds up crocodile SO well, it absolutely makes him so intimidating as the first one to defeat our protagonist, twice at that, and makes Luffy beating him so much more cathartic. It does double duty, it makes crocodile a memorable villain, everyone remembers the guy who created contrast, who delivered something unique for the first time in the show. It's what makes knights of Cerberus so memorable, and while I wouldn't say crocodile is a knight of Cerberus, him beating Luffy achieves a similar function, and CP9 further amplified and pushes that into new realms of contrast, threat, and catharsis. Every good villain in one piece does this, after arcs of beating big mom's commanders, Kaido one shots Luffy, after arcs of beating up the new world, Doflamingo let's us remember why it's so difficult in the first place.

Live action Luffy will not get that same contrast. And that'll hurt crocodile as a villain, the catharsis of the final battle, and while I'm at it, changing crocodile's dream will make him worse from a narrative standpoint, as it'll make him more generic, villain wants same thing protagonist wants is very common compared to villain was actively broken while trying to achieve protagonists dream so now mocks the dream, and it'll make his backstory, if they ever do reach that far, hit less hard because his dreams weren't broken and Luffy didn't need to relight them. Of course this final point likely won't be a factor as it'll be canceled before that point, but it's still a point on the board, we won't see how the grand line breaks people. It'll make his rookie speech, a direct tieback to his own past, t Luffy hit softer. It'll make him and Luffy have less contrast.

And it'll hurt the show overall. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk. There mods, vague title, spoiler, and tag

Eric Litman (editor): "The note Oda wanted (regarding Miss All Sunday vs Marines scene): I want this to be violent, scary and nightmarish"

Surprised this interview went under the radar. More awesome insights on the Below the Line podcast, my standout was Eric sharing Oda's note on the Nico vs Marines hallway scene around min 10:00 of the podcast. Great watch

I've read criticism about this scene because (spoiler)>!she isnt shown killing anyone in the source material, and by having her actually killing on screen will make it more difficult to write her as a crew member in later seasons, But in my opinion its pretty believable that her as the partner of the head of an assasin organization would have killed even in the manga. !<>!Its even more explicit during Usopp's interview after she joins when she shares that her special skill is assassination. Regardless of us not seeing it directly in the manga, given all context its pretty plausible she has killed and is pretty experienced at it. On top of all this we also have the perspective of her tragic past with marines which makes it even more believable that she would have no qualms facing marines.!<

I'm so happy to know that Oda specifically wants this characterization of Robin bc it means (spoiler) >!he wants the OPLA viewers to feel uneasy and untrusting of her as a member of the crew during Jaya and Skypea even more than in the source material, which will ultimately lead to the greatest 180 turn on the viewers feelings towards her in Ennies Lobby.!<
