Why do anime fans) think a one sided crush is better and more likely to form a romance than two people who are good friends?

I have never understood the notion that "one sided is better than zero sided". Personally, I think ships where both sides have no romantic feelings yet but are good friends and have an emotional bond are better than the ones with a one sided crush and realistically more likely to be together.

I think ships like Naruto and Hinata and Goku and Chichi wouldn't work in real life.

Give me some of your hot takes about the Straw Hats

Here are some of mine:

  1. Zoro and Sanji are equal in power

  2. Nami and Luffy have the best dynamic among them all.

  3. Current Usopp is stronger than start of series Zoro.

  4. They should have introduced a Straw Hat temporarily who would be killed later to raise the stakes.

This is one of my favourite Nami moments

One of my favourite moments about Nami is when she refused to deny that Luffy would be Pirate King, even at the cost of her own life. Shows how much she has developed. She used to be someone who was a coward, stole from others and was an expert at lying etc. Here, she is unable to lie even at the cost of her own life just for her best friend.

Anyone else has Luffy and Nami as their favourite dynamic among the Straw Hats

It's one of the best executions of the dumb and immature boy and the level headed who brings sense to him. It strikes the balance between wholesome moments and funny moments where Nami hits Luffy.
