Runtime on iplayer

Saw that iPlayer had added the film on their movie section but why it is shorter than it was in cinemas?

To my recollection the film was just shy of about 3 hours yet here there’s about 10 minutes missing

Got my premiere poster framed after 3 years in storage!

Almost three years ago, I was lucky enough to see the IMAX premiere of Oppenheimer here in Vietnam (our release was pushed back to August 11th due to censorship delays).

At the end of the screening, they handed out these huge official posters. I didn't have space for it at the time, so I ended up tucking it away in my attic. With the 3rd anniversary coming up next month, I finally pulled it out, got it framed, and hung it up on the wall.

Do you guys have any cool merch or posters from the movie?

The movie was released on July 21, 2023 and grossed $975 million worldwide, which made it at the time the 54th highest-grossing movie in the world, the 51st without re-releases and the 2nd highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world (behind Joker 1). It's now the 64th highest-grossing movie in the world, the 60th without re-releases and the 3rd highest-grossing R-rated movie in the world (behind Deadpool 3 and Joker 1). It's also the 3rd highest-grossing movie of 2023 (behind Barbie and Mario 1). It was also the highest-grossing biographical movie in the world (surpassing Bohemian Rhapsody, where ironically Rami Malek also appears) until it was surpassed by Michael this year. It was also the 71st movie in history to gross $900 million, the 69th to do so in its initial release, the 12th Universal movie to do so, the 2nd biographical movie to do so (after Bohemian Rhapsody) and the 2nd R-rated movie in history to do so (after Joker 1). It was also the 33rd movie (and most recent one to date) to win the Oscar for Best Picture without winning any for screenplay and the 26th to do so without winning its screenplay nomination (and also the most recent one to date). This is my favorite movie directed by Christopher Nolan

Aspect Ratio

Hey y’all, I’m genuinely curious, as someone who has seen Oppenheimer now 4 times, why does the aspect ratio change during the film? I’ve heard people say its supposed to show what is objective and subjective, but the same is true about the color palette differing between parts of the film, and yet there are both colored and greyscale shots in both aspect ratios used. What purpose does it serve for the aspect ratio to change if the color palette switches already implicate what is objective and from Oppenheimers perspective?

Why is Oppenheimer not available on any of the subscription streaming platforms?

Genuinely, this seems like the most irrational error the studios can make. Christopher Nolan has just released arguably the biggest movie of the summer, and the one that he earned an Oscar for isn’t currently available with any of the subscription platforms is just pure idiocy.

People would be watching Oppenheimer by the millions right now, and the retarded execs at the studios aren’t carrying the actually rights for the movie.
