New User - Lock Screen Help

OK so got this beast a few days ago and coming from the S23 Ultra ..... wow. Love it.

I'm not sure how i managed it initially, but when unfolded, the twin screens had their own lock screen that differed from the single screen. Say you had it open, went away from a bit and came back - the lock screen would be a diff wallpaper than the one used as the main single, or then the active unfolded screen.

Probably not making a lot of sense but i'm trying to get that going again....anyone ?

Tesla App on the N6 in the US

Hey just wondering how the digital car key is on the N6? For those of you with a Model S or X (or any other car) with the proximity opening trunks, do those work at all? I imagine not without the UWB hardware.

Samsung AI features alternatives

I switched from S26 ultra to Oppo find N6 and I missed AI features specifically in Sam browser like translation and summarize etc.,

Also I missed AI for keyboards like Grammer check with auto replace and correction and more and more.

Any recommendations for a similar experience with My Oppo find N6??

Loose Hinge

I will say the hinge design the phone feels a bit loose when open, similar to early Galaxy Folds. Open the phone and then wiggle both sides. You can actually feel the 2 sides of the phone tapping into each other. Very strange.

It seems to be a normal for this hinge design (not very stiff when fully opened). Newer galaxies and Honor phones have fixed this, but it seems oppo has not. Anyone else surprised that zero reviews mention this? It definitely cheapens what is otherwise a REALLY nice experience.

And my wallpaper keeps switching to "dark mode" no matter what I do. I'm sure they'll fix that though.

Edit: my last few foldables were Galaxy Fold 7 (very stiff hinge), Honor Magic V2 (had springs in it that held the phone fully open, no flex modes), and Pixel Fold (similar wobbly hinge to z find N6).

Sound issue

I recently sold my Samsung S26 ultra and bought Find n6, but I am disappointed from the sound volume, it is very low compared to any other phone

Is this problem in my phone only?

Any solutions for that please ?

Crease campaign almost deterred me

The amount of YouTube videos bringing up that the crease is barely noticable was noticably paid for. The crease is small, but the amount of videos highlighting that as the focal point made me almost not want to buy it.

Anyway.. I bought it. Looks like a no-compensation phone. I couldn't do the fold 8 ultra with the baby front screen. Hoping it works with my OG AT&T plan 😬

Crease

Does anyone else's crease feel slightly more noticeable / bumpier on the top than the bottom? I've had my phone for 6 months.

Recreating this with colourOS?

Hey guys, just a quick one - I’m looking into getting the find N6 real soon as an upgrade from my iPhone 14pro. Long story short, I want to try android again and what better phone than the best foldable on the market right now.

While I know android is objectively more customisable than IOS, I haven’t had any experience with colourOS before. What do you think my chances are of recreating this or something similar on my new N6? Primarily the individual custom app icons - ever since I started using them I can’t go back, I just love the uniform look of it all. I know it’s all subjective and some of you might hate it, but this is the style I like.

Anyways, does anyone have any tips for how to do something similar natively or some third party apps to use otherwise? Thanks!

I'm really happy with my N6 - AMA

I've been a Z Fold 6 User for two years. The phone did not age very well, as it started having issues with charging an unfortounately the inner screen broke and got black dots which grew over time.

After a long struggle cause of the price, I finally pulled the trigger on the Oppo Find N6. And what can I say...

...it's amazing!

I love the very customizable Android. Something I'm always doubting on chinese phones (even though it's the global version). But ColorOS comes with so many settings while still feeling vanilla enough.

The screens are great and I'm still in disbelief in the absence of the crease. You can find it, if look for it. But honestly, it's like there is none. Which isn't true even on the newer Fold 8.

Another strong point are the cameras, especially when shooting in Hasselblad Hi-Res mode. I just came back from a two week vacation in Cancun, and the photo quality speaks for itself. Of course, not all pictures are equally good, but when it hits a high, it's simple incredible. I uploaded some examples, but reddit alows only for 20MB files, so I wasn't able to show you the best ones.

Some small things, that I don't like: it is a little to wide for single handed us, it is very top-heavy when holding (because of the cameras) and I had to install some third-party app to be able to prop it up half-open and use the outer screen while using it as a stand. But these are all smaller issues, that I'm happy to live with them.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me anything.

EDIT: unfortounately the reddit images are very compressed. They look way clearer in full quality

Can 2 different wallpapers be used internally and externally

Sitting on the fence about pulling the trigger on the Oppo Find N6 and have a couple questions.

  • Can the internal and external wallpapers be different
  • Can the internal and external screen layouts be different

I currently use Nova as a launcher but since the Oppo comes with ColorOS, I'd like to maybe use that as it seems to have some nice features.

Oppo Find N6 vs Honor Magic V6 for 5 years?

Hello the community!
I’m choosing between the Oppo Find N6 and Honor Magic V6, and plan to keep it for around 5 years.

So my main concern is reliability and daily usability.

For people who own these phones, or older Oppo/Honor foldables:

  • How reliable have they been?
  • Any hinge, inner screen, protector, battery, or software issues?
  • Which software do you prefer long term: ColorOS or MagicOS?
  • If you’re in the US, how difficult are repairs/service?
  • Any small annoyances that become a big deal after using the phone every day?

Basically, if you had to buy one today and keep it until 2031, which would you choose?

Would especially love to hear from people who have used both brands.

Edit: I’m in the US

More lock screen widgets on OPPO Find N6 Global?

Is there any way to get more lock screen widgets on the OPPO Find N6 Global version?

The current selection of lock screen widgets seems pretty limited. I was wondering if there’s a setting, app, region change, or another workaround that can enable additional widgets.

Has anyone found a way to expand the available lock screen widgets on the Global ROM?

Any options for warranty / repairs?

Hey guys - I’m a longtime iPhone user and am excited to hopefully swap to the oppo find N6 sometime very soon. My biggest concern at the moment though is with repairs.

I’m aware it has the plastic film and I’m perfectly okay with the compromises that brings, but nonetheless I’m not looking forward to the day 2 years down the line where it’s banged up with nothing I can do about it. Some minor dents and blemishes from accidental hard presses and little accidents are fine by me, but I’d love a way to ideally deal with them if/when it gets bad enough
-
Correct me if I’m wrong, but in Samsungs case, they offer a one off replacement for free in the first year and then following replacements for very cheap since it’s just that outer plastic film. Seemingly, replacing that inner protector will remove any and all blemishes without forcing you to pay the excessive $1000+ to replace the actual display - most notably, those “finger nail” scratches people often complain about. I just can’t find any conclusive answers anywhere as to whether or not OPPO offers something similar. I know the cover screen protector is simply removable so I’ll likely just swap it with a glass one, but it’s that inner one I worry about.

For reference I’m in Australia - I just can’t find anything concrete online.

Thanks guys :)

Unable to receive messages on Oppo n6 fold

Hello, I've just received my Oppo N6 fold a few days ago and fell in love with it. Now the only issue is that I can't receive messages. I can send messages, make and receive calls. 5g and Volte are both working. Everything has been going great except this one thing. I tried shutting and opening the phone. Closing the data, putting on airplane mode, closing the phone for a while, restarting it, and it still didn't work. I tried clearing messages cache. Tried resetting the phone network settings, didn't work. I took the sim out and put it in my old phone (iphone) and I was able to receive messages, I closed imessages before brining my sim back and that also didn't work. I'm at the end of my rope here, if anyone has any suggestions on what to do? Or do I have to change my carrier? I need to be able to receive messages for my work, so I won't be able to make the switch until I'm able to receive messages. I'm currently with Bell in Canada.

Edit: So i was finally able to get texting to work!! I called my carrier to try to do a network reset from their side but they kept saying that the issue was with the phone and nothing they did would help, they refused to do it saying they're currently doing maintenance and can't do anything at the time being. So that was a waste of time.

Apparently the issue was that I was trying to use the Oppo stock messaging app and nothing seemed to work, so I just changed the default messaging app to Google messages and suddenly everything seemed to click and started working! I don't really know why it would work for Google messages and not the stock Oppo message app, it just does. I'll be leaving this post up in case any unfortunate soul out there encounters the same issue in the future.

Circle to Search doesn't work for buttons mode?

On Buttons mode, Circle to Search doesn't work no matter how long I press the circle button. It works for Gestures mode though. Anyone have the same issue?

camera tips and tricks?

unboxed my find n6 yesterday and have completely fallen in love with the hardware - it's such a gorgeous device, and it feels so premium and runs so smoothly. now that i've spent some time with that stunning inner screen, I don't think I could go back to a normal slab phone. every time I switch to my old phone to transfer stuff, the screen just feels so dinky in comparison! 😂

my only gripe so far is with the camera. I'm coming from a Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is as idiot-proof a point-and-shooter as possible, with surprisingly good video (despite everyone constantly trashing Pixel on this count). I know I can't expect a foldable phone to beat a flagship slab but I had hoped the photo and video would at least be serviceable

during the day, I've found both to be pretty good to decent. I definitely have a bit of a learning curve after being spoiled by Pixel for so long. but I like how customisable Master Mode is. I went out for an evening walk though, and my goodness the photos and videos were... pretty terrible. again, I know I can't expect Oppo to beat Pixel on this front. I don't expect it to. but the videos I tried to take at night were shaky and couldn't even focus on brightly lit signs just across the road (much less multiple blocks away).

any tips and tricks in general when shooting photos and especially videos with this phone? what settings do you use, especially in low light? I don't need the output to be crystal-clear but I'd like to know if there's a way to get around taking images/videos that are blurry/shaky/unusable even for just social media

How is the hinges compared to Fold 8/Ultra

So the Fold 8 and 8 Ultra has some kind of "spring action" or magnet when unfolding which keeps it stable as it snaps into place (Unfolded) , does the N6 have something similar?
