Help getting contacts info migrated from Samsung to Oppo. I used sms back up but my contacts aren't showing up.

I switched from Samsung to Google messages a few weeks back and everything has been fine until I got a new phone Oppo Find N6 that also uses google messages. When I did the back up none of my contact history or texts showed up. I waited some 24 hours and still nothing. I had to use a 3rd party sms backup and restore to get my texts and phone histories but now the contact info doesn't show up. I look for my bosses name and its not in the contact list neither are some coworkers or doctors I have appointments with. I switched Google messenger to the oppo and back , I deleted cache data and restarted and google messages refuses to budge and update. It took me about a week to transfer my data to this phone and I really don't want to do a factory reset. Any suggestions?

Tap pay NFC completely inconsistent

Has anyone had issues with this? I'm using Google wallet and for the first few weeks everything worked flawlessly. Now when I unlock my phone, sometimes tap doesn't work and I have to open the wallet app manually for it to work. I've even had it not work at all when opening the wallet app manually.

Incredibly annoying

Does digital car keys work?

I just bought a car that allows digital car keys and I can't get them to work on my n6. Am I the only one?

Lens protection

Does the Find N6 come from the factory with a protector on the lens? I can't tell.

I bought one and it wouldn't stick, so I am guessing there is one on there already.

Unwanted, random pocket dialing?

Has anyone else had a problem with their Find N6 making occasional random phone calls while sitting in your pocket? Is there something in settings to help prevent this? Thanks.

Case to help the N6 lie flat.

I just got my N6. I love it so far except for the fact that its doesnt lie flat with the camera facing down and it wobbles. I think this is due to the camera bump being a circle. Are there any cases that fix this?

How do I pay the Waybill invoice after purchasing from overseas?

For those who bought their phones overseas, I need some guidance. I recently bought my Oppo Find N6 from Giztop and had it shipped to the USA. My phone came and I also received an invoice notice with a Waybill Number. I'm guessing this is the travel fee for importing international goods or the tariff cost. My question is, where and how do I pay this invoice? It's 158.98 in total and there are no instructions on doing so. I don't want something so small to go to collections either for unpaid debt so I want to make sure this is my next move.

Fold Phone question: Oppo, Honor, Motorola, anything as good as Samsung Secure Folder for banking application (and others)?

context:

I have a Samsung S21 Ultra and I'm using Secure Folder to have the same application twice between personal and pro, like Revolut Business, Paypal, Paxum, local banks application, Google Chrome, Google Auth, Microsoft auth, Drive, OneDrive, Asana... I need also a dual nano sim for my two phone numbers.

Last year, I tried the Fold7 and I found the cover screen too small (too narrow to type), the edge of the phone too pointy/squared, the opening of the fold too hard, the fingerprint misplaced, the camera bump, the horrible vertical camera position always on my fingers. Screen, software, I love it, but the ergonomics were too bad for a phone at this price.

One year later, I don't expect much from Samsung, the form factor will be the same, the screen will be still too narrow, the camera will be still badly placed so I'm looking for alternatives.

So far, I'm between the Oppo Find N6 and the Honor Magic V6, I'm not against the Motorola Razr Fold but not as a first choice.

But I have very hard time to find actual information about a similar service as Secure Folder.

On Oppo, there is a System Cloner, on Honor, there are Parallel Space and Private Space, on Motorola, the Secure Moto, and kind of all of them have the Private Space from Android 16... and I'm lost about what theses tools can or can not do in "real situation".

Here my questions for the users of these 3 phones:

  1. Can you duplicate 100% of the applications (banking, payments, messages, email, everything...) ?

  2. Do you have unified notification (meaning, you receive notification from the other profile into the active profile) ?

I'm not looking for alternative software like Island, I need something robust, supported by the phone builder that is doing the job. Thank you in advance for your insights 3>

Case with magnetic card holder?

Hi, just got this phone. Anyone found a good case with a card holder too? That allows me to not carry a wallet out. I had this for my previous phone (S24 Ultra).

Need help with pen / stylus alternatives!

Long time Samsung Fold user who finally places an order for the N6. A huge draw for me was the stylus, but unlike Samsung that has like 100 stylus clones for cheap, I can't seem to find any alternatives to the oppo ai pen. I came across some threads saying the oppo pen (for N2-N5) would work but without Ai features. So my questions are :

- how much AI features will I lose with the oppo pen (N2-N5), like circle to search, tool pallette

- is there any alternative to the Ai pen or regular pen that's cheap, even if there's no Ai features. I mean, the original oppo pen is pretty pricey so it I am not getting the ai features anyway then might as well get a cheap one

Charging the AI pen putting the case on the phone

Hello, I want to know if it's possible to charge the AI pen without putting the case on the phone. I would like to use a magsafe charger. Do you have any suggestions on which magsafe charger should I use? Thanks

Persistent Error 1099 on Oppo Find N6 when triggering Gemini via power button long-press

For the last 24 hours, I’ve been hitting a brick wall trying to use the built-in Gemini assistant on my Oppo Find N6.

Every single time I try to activate it by holding down the power button, the assistant overlay crashes immediately with this message:

"Something went wrong, please try again (1099)"

The strange part is that it is only happening with the long-press power button shortcut. If I tap the home screen widget or open the Gemini app directly from its icon, it connects and works perfectly fine.

I’ve already spent a bunch of time troubleshooting and ruled out a lot of the standard local fixes:

Cleared the app cache and force-stopped the app.

Tore down and reset the Android default digital assistant mapping in system settings.

Tried switching the active Gemini model via the app interface.

None of it has shaken the error loose. It seems like the system gesture handshake is failing or hitting a hard deadlock on the backend cluster for this specific shortcut.

Has anyone else with a Find N6 run into Error 1099 on the power button gesture recently? If you managed to fix it without resorting to a secondary Google account or completely wiping your core Google app data, what did the trick?

Appreciate any insights!

Bump on crease

Today I noticed a slight bump on my crease, phone has never been dropped, already contacted the seller to try and get my money back but I was wondering, has anyone encountered this issue yet or is it just my device?

I want to get this phone but I have a few questions about using it in the USA. I also would like to know what insurance you guys use since T mobile won't cover it.

So I'm using a Note20 ultra because I like expandable storage and the pen and water resistance. I'm a bit clumsy and have dropped my phone but it has a cover. So my questions are

  1. In regards to using it on T mobile it's been mixed so far but it works apparently though I haven't heard anything about use in Miami, FL. Any clarification on that would be appreciated

  2. From what I understand you can't use the oppo account unless you set the region as PR. What does this do? I take it it allows data transfers like contacts and texts? Or does it mean I star from scratch? Can I just use Google (I've had samsung phones since the galaxy and so that's the only eco system I've used to transfer).

  3. Is insurance worth it? T mobile has been pretty good for drops and water damage. I can try and be as careful as I can but I'm always on the move and I occasionally have butter fingers and I know they won't cover it. Do what is my best alternative?

  4. I found out there's no 1tb global version so I have to go with 512gb. Anything I should specifically be on the lookout when purchasing ?Is bludiode a good place to buy it?

Is something wrong with my phone

So with very minimal usage (only 36 mins of YouTube on the folded screen, very minimal waze, and on wifi for most of the time) - battery can only reach up to 1 day. I was asleep for more than 8 hours.

I haven't used the unfolded screen much yesterday. I don't get what the processor would have wasted the battery on - should I move away from the classic ripple wallpaper for instance, trim down screen refresh (and basically waste the supposed super features of this phone)?

Battery charging speed also lags behind the open because of the way the phone heats up (especially with the heatwave here in London). My open can fully charge in less than an hour despite the heat - the n6 took almost THREE hours as per the battery usage chart (was using an 80w supervooc charger i was using as spare for the open).

Reviewers have been raving about battery but it feels the razr fold and the honor magic v6 might have significantly better battery efficiency - despite oppo killing most of my apps.

I have upgraded for the battery mainly but the n6's battery seems really not an upgrade compared to the open.

Am I doing something wrong? Is this phone a lemon?

Got it yesterday and issues with banking app

I bank with chime and I've tried everything I can think of. I can sign in through Chrome. But the app just says "yikes! Try again and contact us at 844-244-6363 if the problem continues." I've turned off dev options reinstalled the app re started my phone so mmmm, if anyone else in the US figured out a fix. Please let me know. I absolutely love the phone tho I'm so happy I pulled the trigger.
