I never thought I’d say this, but I only recently discovered you can actually see a bit of downtown Toronto from the Lakeview area in Oshawa.
I’ve lived around here for a while and somehow never noticed it. On a clear day, you can make out part of the skyline across the lake, and it honestly caught me off guard. I always assumed Toronto was too far away to be visible from here.

Does anyone know anywhere hiring in Oshawa for a 16 year old? My younger brother has been trying to get his first job for like a year and a half now. I’ve gone into a couple stores with him and talked to managers, but they usually just take his resume and nothing happens after that. He only has volunteer experience right now, but he has Food Safety, WHMIS, and a few other free certificates too. I tried referring him at my job, but we’re full. He even applied for all of those youth Canadian jobs but he didn't get any interviews
At this point, is Oshawa just cooked for youth jobs or does anyone know places that actually hire students with no work experience? 😭😭😭
I recently noticed some moisture behind the basement insulation along one corner of my foundation wall. There are also damp streaks on the concrete and a small amount of water collecting on the floor in that corner.
The insulation has a clear vapor barrier, and it looks like there may be some moisture trapped behind it. I’m not sure if this is condensation or something else but definitely noticed it today after last few days of humidity n rain.
What’s the best way to get it checked ?

My papas birthday is coming up next weekend and there's a bottle of wine that he really loved from a local winery in Niagara. I've tried to have it shipped to my local LCBO but have been unsuccessful.
There's a few bottles at the LCBO on Bathurst and Lawrence in Toronto but I don't drive and will have a hard time getting there. I was hoping to find someone to buy the bottles for me and bring them back to Oshawa during your commute. I will obviously cover the bottles and pay extra for delivery, but I'd prefer to pay for everything when you're dropping them off instead of transferring a stranger.
I know this is a big ask, especially since you'd be buying them and I'd be reimbursing you, but I will gladly toss an extra $20 or what you feel is fair for your time and effort on top of the cost!
