Thank you, Ottawa Charge for an amazing ride!

It was a season for the books. In the off-season, we lost some talent and many were more than a little worried when the first puck dropped last November. The early couple of months had a few nail-biters and Ottawa found themselves behind the pack. They never gave up and even won their last four games straight and it took the last game of the season for the Charge to eke into the playoffs. We all knew they were better than their record. Heck, even the Victoire chose to not play Ottawa in that first round. They knew it too.

We saw some amazing individual performances along the way: Jenner, Leslie, Hughes, Kadirova, Woz, Savolainen, Larocque, Markowski, Clark. And Philips. Especially Philips - at only 25, she has a bright future ahead for her (and for us!). We had a lot of bright sparks but it's how these pros played as a team that really impressed. I really thought they gelled over the course of the season, rallying behind coach Carla, finding ways to win in a sometimes-gruelling schedule, and just competing hard game in and game out. Oh yeah, and there were the Olympic games in their too.

The team gave us a lot to cheer for over the last five months or so. Yeah, last night wasn't our night but let's acknowledge the Victoire and congratulate their stars for bringing the Walter Cup to Canada for the first time. I'd rather have seen Jenner, Leslie, and Philips hoist the Cup but it sure was nice to see Poulin as a champion. I want that for us next year.

Soon, we will head into the uncertainty of the expansion draft, unsure of what lies ahead of us. But let's all pause while this team is how it is in the moment and thank this Ottawa Charge team for all they accomplished this year.

Bravo!

New fan for the last time this season!

Holy s***!!!!!!!!!

What a ride!

A few thoughts:

  1. hats off to the charge. Obviously well run team that just fell short. Congrats Ottawa, you all are an amazing bunch. Classy fans too.

  2. #11 ❤️ #7❤️ #35❤️ AND #29❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

  3. We played such a good defensive game. Debiens is the star of the game (to me), but the trap they ran was impenetrable. What a masterclass in defending.

  4. the game seemed sloppy, with a bunch of whiffs, but The MV soldiered through.

  5. this sub has been so amazingly welcoming, cool and just f***in awesome. Thank you for letting me in the club!

LFG/ALLEZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm making my own Kadirova bobblehead!

I just started sculpting it today so it's a little rough, but I'm really excited about sculpting and 3D printing some PWHL bobbleheads! I'm thinking Abby Roque (complete with black eye) next :)

400 line to Canadian Tire Centre

Hi there

Is this running today? Anxious because I heard it wasn't. I am visiting for the week and got a ticket for tonight's game. Any insight would be great and if the 400 series isn't running how to get to Canadian Tire Center???? Thanks

How whispers, winks and nudges suggest Ottawa Charge and PWHL expect to make CTC full-time home

Each week more and more ‘rumours’ emerge… I wouldn’t be surprised but I’m starting to suspect

Reflection of the fan zone (finas game 3)

Got this cool shot outside the CTC yesterday and figured y’all would appreciate it

It’d be really cool if next season the Charge move here permanently and they shift the Sens logo off to the side and put the Charge logo beside it on the glass

In praise of Rebecca Leslie - what a dramatic game winner!

I was on the edge of my seat all game and leapt to my feet when Becca notched the game winner in the final minute.

With her game winner in the final minute last night, Leslie not only won the game for us but also achieved:

  • her fourth goal of the playoffs - tied for best in the league
  • now at .86 points per game in the post-season - 3rd in the league
  • 6 points so far - 2nd in the league, just behind Poulin
  • 20% shooting percent on 20 shots - 4th in the league
  • her first playoff game winning goal in the PWHL
  • her fifth game winning goal since the start of the regular season

Remember, this is the same Rebecca Leslie who scored 14 regular season goals (2nd most in the league), 23 points (5th), .77 PPG (11th). Until this season, Rebecca had never scored a game winner in the PWHL.

Becca is on fire and at just the right time.

Go Charge Go!

Are there dead zones in audience visibility for the CTC cameras?

I wear a homemade sparkly jersey to games and am slightly surprised not to have made it onto the big screen yet at CTC -- I was on most games at Lansdowne.

But even moreso, there was a young girl near me who was absolutely laying it out dancing during the intermissions last night and she never once made it onto the camera even though it showed a lot of people who were barely moving and returned to some of the same people over and over again. All of which made me wonder -- are there places in the audience that the cameras can't see? We are in the front of the 200s very close to center ice on the bench side. She was working so hard to make it onto the screens and it was so disappointing that she didn't get up there.

(I thought I posted this before but I seem to have screwed it up, and hope I fixed it, but if you see this twice, I apologize.)

Ref : skate and hockey stick (Winning goal - mtl v Ottawa)

Hey !

I don’t want to be a salty Charge fan, but like… isn’t that supposed to be a penalty?

The fact that Victoire scored while putting a player on the ground from a hockey stick in Ottawa’s best defender’s skate, especially seeing as the puck passed straight beside Savolainen, this seems fishy from the refs 🤷‍♂️

I’m a new fan so I’m super open to everyone’s thoughts on this play! Maybe there’s something I don’t know or am not seeing, but I find this extremely frustrating especially when the stakes are this high.

I’m not one to complain usually, but this one seems so blatant 😤

Best way to avoid parking at the CTC?

DAMN its expensive. Whats the best way to avoid it? Costco and walk? Grab a meal at eggspectation and walk after?

Sorry, can't do public transit sadly as we come from Gatineau from the game :(
