Professional Fees Question

Hi, I want to ask anyone who had a laparoscopy. I had a laparoscopy to remove my dermoid cyst on my left ovary. I was shocked by the price of the PFs. The total was 260k. 125k for my main surgeon, 85k for the anesthesiologist and 50k for thr assistant. Is that normal? This is a private hospital in Laguna.

How do you take your inositol?

Do you just mix it with water? I tried this but sobrang panget ng lasa for me na para akong masusuka.

I tried it with my morning coffee kaso di daw pala dapat itake to kasama ng caffeine bec it reduces the effectiveness.

I tried taking it with Acai Berry but ayoko naman na laging ang tamis (lol).

Give me recos pls huhu

PCOS: Bleeding came back 6 days after Tranexamic Acid

Has anyone experienced this?

I took Tranexamic Acid, and my period stopped. However, 6 days later, I started bleeding again. I consulted my OB, and she told me to continue taking the Tranexamic Acid. But instead of improving, the bleeding seems to be getting heavier.

Because of this, I still can’t schedule my transrectal ultrasound since I’m bleeding.

Hi, I’m 21, and I honestly can’t take this situation anymore.

Na-diagnose ako with PCOS last March, pero feeling ko nagsimula na siya last year pa. Halos dumoble yung timbang ko within 3–4 months.

Pero ngayon, mas lalo pa akong nag-gain ng weight, and I think I’m starting to show signs of diabetes too. Nakakatakot.

Ang hirap kasi gusto ko talagang magbago. Gusto kong kumain nang healthy. Gusto kong gumalaw. Gusto kong mag-workout. Honestly, feeling ko depressed na rin ako because of all of this.

Gusto kong magbago. Gusto kong humaba pa yung buhay ko. Gusto kong sumali ulit sa beauty pageants. Gusto kong magsuot ng swimsuits without feeling ashamed. Gusto kong maibalik yung sarili ko. Pero most days, nakahiga lang ako and I feel stuck.

Can I skip Dienogest?

I've been diagnosed with PCOS since September 2024.

I didn't get my period for 3 months and then by May 28, I got it and it hasn't stopped since. The blood flow is light, but there's a lot of big, blood clots. Yesterday, there's CBC and ultrasound done to me. The doctor assured me that it's preferable for me to shed blood clots rather than blood flowing like a dam.

During the consultation, I've mentioned that my periods have been painful and it disables my daily routine for a day or two. She prescribed me Dienogest that will treat endometriosis. Here's the catch, her only diagnosis is PCOS/PMOS but endo? Not official. Although I get that it is due to my thickened uterine lining, she wants me to take this.

However, my experience with hormonal pills is really bad. My PCOS/PMOS symptoms worsened because of pills. Now I have to take them again but a different kind. She also prescribed me Calcium Carbonate because apparently it can mess up with bone density too.

I wanted to proceed with stopping the bleeding with Tranexamic Acid 500mg, then take inositol + metformin together. That is along with diet changes and increase in physical activities like walking.

Can I ask for your insight regarding my situation? Or if you can recommend me some supplements, I'd really appreciate that. Thanks!

Do I have to be on my period to get any form of contraceptives?

I consulted an OB-Gyne before, and she told me to come back on the first day of my period so I could start taking contraceptives. The problem is, whenever I get my period, I don't have time to visit since the clinic is far from me, and they're also closed on Sundays.

Ganito ba talaga practice ng mga OB? Also, can anyone recommend an OB around QC, or yung may online consultations thru now serving app?

Does the OB also decide which contraceptive you can take, or can you choose the type you want?

Diane-35 similar recos

Hi gurlies!

I’m on my 7th day of taking Diane-35.

Weird ba yung symptoms ko or need ko magpalit to Althea?

*bakit di ko matanong yung OB? -niresetahan kasi ako ng pills good for 6mos na.

Salamatsss

[21F] Stuck in a cycle of bed rotting, overeating with PCOS, and feeling completely overwhelmed about the upcoming semester. How do I start changing?

I don’t even know how to start changing myself. I feel overweight, unattractive, not smart enough, and like no matter what I do, I can't lose weight or fat. I try taking different supplements, but I still can't stop myself from overeating. Today, I just couldn't help myself and kept eating sweets, carbs, and processed food all day. I know "how" to change in theory, but I don't know how to actually start. Instead, I just find myself "bed rotting" all day, staring at my laptop, or just playing with my cat.

On the outside, I look happy and act like nothing is wrong, but inside I am deeply insecure about everything. I hate seeing myself in photos, I hate how my clothes hug my body, and I'm insecure about my facial features.

I have a bit of time before the new college semester starts in August, and I desperately want to get out of this bad shape. On top of the upcoming semester, I have a major government/civil service exam to study for and an online certification course I'm supposed to be finishing. I used to be so eager and motivated about these things, but now I have zero energy. To make things worse, I haven't even come up with my thesis topic yet, and I feel like I'm completely in a daze.

I want to change, but the lack of motivation and the hormonal struggle of PCOS feels paralyzing. How do I break this cycle when even taking the first step feels impossible?

Dermoid Cyst HMO Inquiry (PhilCare)

Weight Management Center in St. Luke’s QC

Hi! Has anyone here consulted at the Weight Management Center in St. Luke's QC? My doctor recently referred me there. For context, I'm 28F diagnosed with PCOS, obesity, and possible hypothyroidism. My main concern is the cost (I haven't inquired yet, but I plan to tomorrow) and whether the program is worth it. I don't have an HMO yet and the consultations with my OB, endocrinologist, and hema are already taking a toll on my wallet. 😅

TL;DR**:** Is the Weight Management Center at St. Luke's QC worth it, and how expensive are the consultations/programs?

Best Affordable Hospital/Clinic for Raspa (D&C) in Metro Manila?

I have PCOS and have been dealing with heavy bleeding. My OB recommended that I get a D&C.

So far the cheapest option I've found is Fabella Hospital. I don't have PhilHealth or HMO, so I'll be paying out of pocket. I know Fabella is a public hospital and can get really busy, so I'm wondering if there are other affordable hospitals or clinics in Metro Manila that you'd recommend.

I don't mind paying just a bit more if it means a more comfortable experience. If you've had a D&C before, I'd really appreciate hearing where you went, how much it cost, and how your experience was. Thank you

ST. LUKES | OBGYN RECOMMENDED DOCTORS

Hi everyone! I’m looking for recommendations for an OB-GYN.

I had an OB before, but I didn’t really have a good experience. Every appointment felt so rushed (around 5–10 minutes), and I barely had time to ask questions. I also felt like my concerns weren’t really being addressed, and I left without getting the answers or treatment I needed. She also seemed unapproachable, so I didn’t feel comfortable opening up.

I’m looking for an OB who can help me manage my PCOS and hopefully be my OB in the future if I get pregnant, so I can continue seeing the same doctor throughout my pregnancy until delivery. I’d really like someone who is hands-on, takes time to listen, explains things well, answers questions patiently, and doesn’t make their patients feel judged.

I’d really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

ultrasound consult?

Hello! Is it normal for an OB to tell me that my only ultrasound option is transrectal? It felt like there was too much emphasis on transvaginal being “bawal” solely because I’m a virgin. Is this standard practice? Should I switch doctors so that I’m allowed to have an option?
