**Boycott Lanphere Cellars**

Just so everyone is aware- Lanphere Cellars in Aurora hosted Christine Drazan’s election night watch party last night. The family that owns and operates Lanphere Cellars is INCREDIBLY MAGA, and they’re loud and proud about it. I encourage everyone to vote with their dollars, and to not give your money to businesses that don’t align with your values.

Looking for a safe home

I am 44 disabled woman with a 17 YO cat. I receive SSDI for a rare autoimmune disorder and work part time as a home caregiver for ODHS. I have ZERO criminal background or drug history. I’ve been disabled since I was 13. I come from an abusive adoptive family and my birth family abandoned me at 4. So no family support.

For the last 14 years I have lived at Ruth Haefner Plaza, a Home Forward property. Here is some information about HF as of late:

>Home Forward CEO Ivory Mathews will resign from her position effective Friday, following reports that the public agency executive spent taxpayer money on lavish trips.

https://www.kgw.com/article/news/local/home-forward-ceo-resigns-scrutiny-taxpayer-funded-trips/283-d6a3dcfb-6c11-4e3f-82f2-81d1982b36dc

>Against that difficult backdrop comes Home Forward’s homegrown problems: high vacancy rates, slow unit turnover times, buildings in poor condition, looser vetting of prospective tenants, and tenant concerns about drug use and dealing within buildings’ walls.

https://www.wweek.com/news/2026/03/11/public-pressure-on-home-forward-ramps-up/

>the board is more afraid of getting beat up by the criminals they allow to live in their buildings than being sued by an elderly crime victim.

https://www.wweek.com/news/dialogue/2026/02/16/readers-respond-to-home-forwards-tenant-screening-policies/

>Home Forward loosened its criminal background threshold for tenants in 2022.

>“I used to try to say something when people would come in the door without permission, and now I’ve been assaulted a few times.”

>Before the policy change, tenants could lose rent assistance if they were accused of drug-related crimes.
Now, the policy requires a felony conviction for drug distribution.
The same standard applies to violent criminal activity; only a felony conviction would lead to termination of benefits.

I was maced to the face a week and a half ago by a male tenant. He trapped me in the elevator and maced me. Cops were called. Home Foward has done NOTHING. They will not evict.

I need a safe apartment to go to. I gave bi weekly in home infusions for my medical condition. And I have an elderly cat. We just want to live in peace and be safe. I only have my nurse as my visitor because I’m afraid any other person could get sick or attacked while visiting.

Hit and run help, NE Portland Oregon

I was riding my bike down NE Ainsworth and a car with a tailer ran me down and took off. Nothing broken, but I am banged up pretty bad. Happened in the east bound lane on NE Ainsworth right before NE11th Ave. According to witnesses the car was going 50 mph. I never saw them coming. I was thrown over ten feet beyond where my bike landed.

Anyway, I need tracking down the *ucher. The car was a dark colored midsize SUV pulling a trailer. The trailer was small with solid aluminum sides. It weas a light duty model. Two tires fell out of the trailer as it fled away.

That's all I got. If you know someone on Ainsworth between MLK and 33rd and they have a ring cam, please let me know. There is an open Police investigation. Case number 26-139951, phone 503.823.5700

Thank you to the staff of Emanual Emergency for taking such great car of me.

Scott

Yup that't me
