Runners who lift too: how do you avoid overeating after runs?

Slowly building my mileage again this month after taking a break from running. During the break, I focused on building muscle and eating more protein-rich food.

Ngayong tumatakbo na ulit ako, grabe na naman gutom ko after runs 😂 Ang hirap pigilan minsan kumain ng kung anu-ano dahil ayoko masayang yung clean diet and muscle gains na pinaghirapan ko.

Kayo, ano usually kinakain niyo after a run na healthy pero nakakabusog talaga?

Beginner here! Struggling with high HR + Thinking of letting go of my Switch 2 for running gear. Thoughts?

Hi r/phrunners!

My girlfriend got me into running just last month, and I think I completely fell in love with it. During my first week, I just used cheap/knockoff training shoes and quickly realized I have a very high arch and started feeling some plantar fasciitis. Two weeks in, I bought my first proper running shoes to fix the issue.

Since then, I’ve been obsessed. I’ve been researching proper shoelacing, form, and breathing (though struggling pa rin sa breathing haha). I also do strength training at home and invested in a jump rope for my rest/recovery days.

Right now, my biggest hurdle is tracking and Zone 2 training. Wala kasi akong watch, so I only rely on the Strava app on my phone, which I read can be inconsistent. I really want to learn how to do easy runs properly. Pansin ko kasi that even when I feel good and running slow, my stats show I'm overreaching and my HR sits around 160-180.

I realized that if I want to take this seriously, I need a reliable watch (looking at a 2nd hand Garmin Forerunner 55 or 165) or maybe a chest strap for accurate readings.

Here’s my biggest dilemma:

I’m seriously considering selling or trading my Nintendo Switch 2 to fund a better watch and maybe another pair of shoes. I haven't turned on my switch since I started running (stopped playing Pokopia, Z-A, and Pokémon Champions entirely 😭).

Do you guys think it’s worth letting go of my console for this? Or impulsive lang ako since I'm a beginner and nasa honeymoon phase pa? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Rainy Season Running Shoes

After a strict one year of running without spending, I finally fell into the capitalist rabbit hole of running shoes...

I used to run 5k, 10k in my old but trusty Adidas Ultraboost 19. For a year I powered through ankle pains, knee pains, sore calves, sore hips, and numb soles. One positive thing that I observed after running in less-than-optimal shoes is that I feel like my lower extremities have hardened to a point where I no longer feel any pain whatsoever.

So after a year I gifted myself a silver Adidas Evo SL. I couldn't believe how light it was. I instantly made my 10k personal best record of 59 minutes in these shoes. In my old Ultraboost, best I can do was 1 hour 15 minutes. I was stoked.

Then I got me a Boston 13 and an Adios Pro 4. I don't want my Evo SL to be lonely.

I am a solo runner mostly, and here's how I use my rotation:

Evo SL - Easy Runs
Boston 13 - Daily Trainer
Adios Pro 4 - When I wanna race against myself

I apologize for the long intro, but now I am looking for a similar-feeling shoes for the upcoming rainy season. I am super OC and I don't want to use my normal lineup in the rain or mud. What's the best all-black running shoe that can perform as good as my current rotation that doesn't cost as much? Something that I can very easily run on in the rain and not worry about its aesthetics after.

Any tips for beginners?

Hello po! I am a beginner looking to run (or even just walk-jog) 5 km this August sa isang fun run. Any tips po for me?

My current average pace is 14:00-15:00 per km. This is only walking. I do walk-jog but I get tired pretty easily, as I am in the heavier side. I don't have a specific training plan but I try my best to walk about 3-4 km every day. So far, I can only do a full minute of jogging without exhausting myself much.

Li Ning RH9U Taobao Legit Store

Kasalanan nyo to! HAHA.

May 2 stores ako na nakita na mukhang classified as "Taobao Mall", yung isang store has 300+ sold, isa pa has 900+ sold. Help please? 😁

Also... Kumusta ang shipping? Ilang weeks inaabot at hindi ba nagkaron ng problem in shipping to PH address?

Last... May extra fees ba?

Thanks!!

Does Zone 3 running help?

Question: Does it help on a long run?

About my situation: Hi I've been running for almost 2 years now pero kadalasan eh pag kaya lang isingit sa schedule. Let's say 2-3 times a week at most with a race pace around 7:30. I just got a garmin watch recently and a friend of mine recommended to change the daily training to HR base. It usually recommends me to run on my Zone 3 HR, does it help? I feel good after runs pero di ko sigurado if ok ba ito. I also follow the training recommendation if I go tempo or recovery.

Crossing Edsa from Ayala to BGC

Hi! Planning to run from Ayala to BGC and pabalik. Safe po ba tumawid sa Edsa from Makati (Ayala) side to BGC side? Mga madaling araw or would you suggest po ba na tumawid nalang sa Ayala station or may ibang foot bridge po ba doon?

Or can you suggest another route for a loop na ang balik ay Ayala lang din.

Thank you po.

Shoe sizing for Qiaodan TG 1.0

Hi, I’m a beginner runner planning to buy the Qiaodan TG 1.0. I have wide feet and wear a US size 8. Should I size up to 8.5, or should I stick with size 8? I’ve read on some subreddits that the shoe is true to size and has a roomy toe box. Thank you!

training shoes vs race day shoes

Hi! So i will be joining 10K this july and I will start training on June. Okay ba if yung bibilhin ko na shoes for june is yun na yung gagamitin ko for july which acts as my training shoes or much better na dapat iba yung shoes na gagamitan on the day of the race? Concern ko kasi baka mapudpod yung shoes during my training.

Also please recommend me yung affordable shoes po but maganda quality since student palang po ako. Budget less than 5K.

Track vs road runner

May i ask kung possible ba na ma outrun or maging same level ng roadrunner yung mga babad sa track? I mean kahit same intense pagdating sa mga speed/vo2max session. Been achieved din sub 4 marathon kaso napakahirap abutin lalo pag sa body composition is bitin/short and feels like forever nung training weeks.

Ps.

On Cloud Shoes Stall

As the title says, I am trying to find a physical store of On Shoes, kaso wala ako makita. I tried sa SM north "The Block" pero matagal na palang wala. Trinoma mall. Gateway mall. Most are just stalls lacking of variety. Is there a store that sells authentic on shoes with wide variety? If i've known, sumabay nako bumili sa vietnam last week, kaso hindi eh. I want to built the habit/hobby of running, so yon. TYIA!
