Help me decide my first running shoes pls

I am a plus sized girlie - 164cm 93kg. I have been walking constantly in my old sneakers and I want to transition to jogging and eventually running. I hit my first 5k last week at 62mins and super sakit sa paa, sa ankles, sa alak alakan. So I think it’s time to invest na with good beginner friendly shoes.

Which one po kaya would be a good pick for its price?

ASICS Dynablast 5 (P4.3k)
Nike Winflo 12 (P4.6k)
Adidas Running Duramo Speed 2 (P4.2k)
Anta PG7 (P4k)

Thank you so much po!

Nag podium pero hindi nya bib

Nakakalusot pa rin pala yung mga gumagamit ng bib ng iba tapos proud pa umakyat sa stage for podium nu? Diba bawal yun? Cheating pa rin yun eh.

Please help me decide!

Nakipag chat ako kay chatgpt (lol) to ask anong shoes fits for flat footed and may overpronation. Eto yung shoes na sinuggest ni chatgpt. Xtep kasi talaga choice ko na bilhin since budget-friendly and I’m joining a 10km run in 2weeks. Should I buy it? Or do you have other recos? First time ko rin mag-join btw and it’ll be my first shoes for running. Please help!

What’s wrong with wearing a running vest?

I don’t really understand why a lot of people criticize runners for wearing running vests. Note to you guys: There is no rule that says you can only wear one after a certain distance.

Personally, I love running vests. Compared to running belts, the advantages are clear — you can carry more, the weight is distributed better, and it usually does not bounce as much.

I typically use a vest for runs or races that will take me more than two hours. At that duration, I carry gels (I plan for a gel every 30 mins), a water bottle, my phone,my wallet, and my car keys. The water bottle is especially important for me — experience has also taught me not to rely too much on hydration stations. Sometimes they are crowded. Sometimes they run out. Sometimes they are not placed where you need them most. Plus I always take a sip of water after ingesting a gel.

Now try putting all of that in a running belt and you will quickly understand why a vest makes more sense.

I hate it when the bottle makes the belt bounce. I hate it when the belt slides down because of the weight. I hate having to constantly adjust things while running.

Now I know that some runners wear vests for the shorter distances. They don’t deserve the criticism for this choice. A running vest can still be practical.

At shorter distances, a runner may still carry an extra shirt, a towel, medication, food. They may be items they do not want to leave in the baggage area. Some runners commute to races. Some may be going elsewhere after the run. Some are practicing with the gear they will use for longer events. Some simply feel more comfortable and prepared when their essentials are with them.

If you are one of those who criticize other runners for wearing a vest, what’s it to you? The person wearing a vest does not affect your run. If a runner wants to wear a vest for a 10K, 5K, or even a short training run, then let them.

Don’t take away another runner’s confidence for choosing what works for them. Run your own run. Let others run theirs.

Ayala Car Free Sunday

First time running here today. Hindi ba talaga nasusunod yung right lane for walking and left lane for running? Or vice versa. Minsan kasi 3-4 group of friends sila magka hilera kung mag walk lang ee, one or two lanes na lang natira for run

Robinsons Buddy run 2026

Joined the Robinsons Fun Run ulit this year and grabe, ang laki ng improvement compared last year.

Mas organized na yung event, mabilis lang mag-claim ng medal, and hassle-free rin yung pagkuha ng freebies. Sulit talaga kasi nag-enjoy ka na, may freebies ka pa.

Kudos sa lahat ng organizers for making the event smooth and well-organized! 👏 Sana tuloy-tuloy pa ang ganitong quality. See you again next year! 🏃‍♀️💙

Is a garmin forerunner 165 enough?

The garmin forerunner 165 non-music is currently on sale sa tiktok for ₱8.3k and im looking for a fitness watch to use for running, I want to monitor my heart rate, pace and maybe GPS?(i will be running in my local subdivision and there arent any skyscrapers in my city so its not so dense), i also play pickleball and do weightlifting for strength training and the garmin pay is nice but i heard its only for the music edition, i mean i have my phone always with me so i guess non-music is okay since i dont want to store music on it. Im not sure if the 165 is enough for all of these activities mentioned, should i instead go for the forerunner 170 or the 265? Or the 265 is too much? I dont plan on doing any half marathons, i just do daily easy runs like 5-10km to improve my endurance and stamina, I fear on missing out on the features that the 170 or 265 might have. What are your thoughts? Should i grab it while on sale right now?

Asics Gel Kayano 32 worries.

Hello, Kayano 32 has been my target shoes ever since due to great feedback fr flat footed people (flat-footed po ako kaya medyo eyeing stability shoes).

Since wala pa akong budget, i previously bought XTEP 2000 Plus as an alternative. Now I'm at 150km and i noticed na masyado syang matigas for my liking. To the point na during long distances (10km+) e sumasakit yung flat ng paa ko and i feel light pressure under my knees. This doesn't happen with my other shoes (Qiaodan Wind 3TR and Peak UP30 5.0).

Now I'm working towards the budget (not yet there but slowly keeping a portion of my salary) for the Kayano 32. I've read reviews (read reviews fr time to time to refresh my motivation to save hahaha) na medyo may katigasan din daw yung sapatos na to. I'm worried after all the saving, when bought, I'll be disappointed lang that it won't be the shoes for me. Any thoughts to those who own the Kayano 32 (if there's someone who have both xtep 2000 plus and kayano 32, comparison based on exp would help me a lot, salamat pooo!)
