Rant about Paki Freelancers

I just want to share my experience as a Pakistani freelancer/professional hiring another Pakistani freelancer.

Whenever I can outsource or refer work, I always try to support fellow Pakistanis first. Unfortunately, a few recent experiences have made me think twice. Here's the worst one.

I hired a Fiverr freelancer to manage my LinkedIn. He was the most proactive person I spoke to, so I gave him a one-month trial. The agreement was simple: 16 posts per month, 15 comments, and around 20 connection requests per day.

The first month seemed fine. Midway through, I asked him to keep a simple record of the comments and connection requests, not because I didn't trust him, but so both of us had proof the work was completed. He happily agreed but never actually shared anything. At the end of the month, he sent an Excel file I couldn't even access despite asking multiple times. Still, I was satisfied overall and renewed him for another month.

The second month was different. Near the end, I asked for two items that were already within the agreed scope, plus one optional task outside the scope. I clearly told him he wasn't obligated to do the extra task if he was busy.

He never delivered the two in-scope items, so I ended up doing them myself. For the out-of-scope task, he claimed he had worked on it, but during our meeting it became obvious he hadn't. I had already done the research myself, and he was making up facts and figures on the spot.

The final straw came when I checked the LinkedIn comments for the last week. We were about 20 comments short of the agreed target. I took screenshots, and when I asked him about it, he insisted he had actually exceeded the target by 10 comments. Once I showed him the screenshots, the excuses started.

On a call, I told him I couldn't leave a good Fiverr review because he had missed the agreed targets and had no proof to support his claims about either the comments or the connection requests.

He later rushed to do some extra comments as if that fixed everything. I left a 2 to 3 star review, after which he repeatedly spammed me on WhatsApp with more excuses instead of simply taking responsibility.

For context, he also took frequent days off throughout the project, and I never complained because the work eventually got done. What bothered me wasn't the mistakes. It was the lack of accountability and the constant excuses.

So, AITA for leaving an average review? I feel like I trusted him far more than I should have.

Who might be willing to do this small job

I need to hire someone to fill up online registration forms for number of foreign regulatory bodies. They will need to go through my detailed CV and do the manual patchwork to fill in dates, durations , locations etc.

If anyone can give me info about anyone who might be able to and interested in doing this job.

Offcourse this wont be a long term assignment. Requires analytical and critical reasoning skills to sive through the dates etc.

Not rocket science, but clearly very mundane stuff which I am willing to pay for somebody else to do for me.

Let me know if you know someone.

Thank you.

Am I getting scammed?

So, I applied for a basic editing job for US content creator. She took my interview. She said you are on trial.I'll teach you my editing style and give you a permanent position.

Now,she was supposed to send me raw files to edit but for some reason she could not.She said she'll send me 50$ for waiting. And she really did.I didn't do any work,I was not even on permanent job.

Is this normal? She was also very sweet and cooperative.

I am confused. She is also paying me a decent amount for the work she want.Maybe Its a little cheap for her but still her videos are really simple.

Does this sound like a scammer.Maybe she gained my trust and will not pay my real compensation?

I think I am being paranoid.

Need help building a passive investment plan for PKR 7M (Lahore, 27M)

Asking here because freelancers are always into such sort of investment scehems.
I have some money sitting idle in my bank account that I'd like to put to work. I've already invested a portion in PSX (Pakistan Stock Exchange) stocks and gold, but I still have around PKR 7 million in free cash that needs a home.

I'm 27, male, and working a full-time job in Lahore, so I can't give active time or attention to whatever I start. It has to be passive.

I was considering buying a rental property, but I'm not confident this budget will get me a good rental property in a decent location. The returns and quality don't seem worth it at this price point.

I'm also wondering if I should buy into a branded franchise, like BATA or something similar.

I'd like some guidance from someone experienced, basically a proper plan comparing my options (real estate, franchise, stocks, gold, fixed income, etc.) given the PKR 7 million budget, keeping in mind this needs to be passive.

Alternates to Fiverr/Upwork

Once a upon a time, these freelance platforms were one of get rich quick schemes.
Now dead. No clients or activity, full of silence.

Some old client still backing but fear about relying on few, how long?

So wanted ideas. I'm NOT a newbie.
I been developing software for clients when AI didn't existed.
Know how to fulfil wishes.

Freelance digital artist want to start earning internationally

Hello. I'm a self taught digital artist for almost 6.5 years and I've been working with clients nationally throughout. Now I want to start my own earnings but I'm facing a few problems.

  1. I've an Askari paypak debit card which doesn't work on platforms

  2. Suggest me best bank and which type of it as a freelancer to receive payments internationally with minimal or no tax

  3. Which apps are best to receive payments internationally which I can connect my own bank account with. Also I don't want clients to know my actual name (ofc I've an artist/foreign name) so please is there any way I could receive without my name being visible to them?

  4. Also please guide me according to which country should I keep my social profiles upto. Pakistan, USA or any other? TIA!

How would you approach asking for compensation after building out an entire HighLevel ecosystem?

I've been with my company for a while handling my normal day-to-day operational management responsibilities, but over the past few months I've gradually taken on a much bigger project that wasn't originally part of my role.

Using HighLevel as the core, I've built and deployed a pretty extensive automation ecosystem, including:

- Complete CRM implementation

- Multiple sales, support, trade, and order fulfillment pipelines

- End-to-end workflow automations

- PandaDoc integration for agreements and document automation

- Shopify Flow integrations

- Zapier automations connecting multiple systems

- Automated lead routing

- Sales/support call routing logic

- Shopify order automations

- Trade account onboarding automations

- Opportunity creation and management

- Reporting improvements

- Custom fields, tags, triggers, and pipeline architecture

On top of that, I'm still doing all of my regular operational management work every day. None of those responsibilities have gone away.

The company didn't hire an agency or consultant—I designed, built, tested, and deployed everything internally. It's now saving the team a significant amount of manual work and gives management much better visibility into operations.

I'm at the point where I feel this work has created a lot of value for the company, and I'd like to have a conversation with my boss about additional compensation.

For those of you who have been in a similar situation:

- How would you approach this conversation?

- Would you ask for a salary increase, a bonus, a promotion, or some combination of those?

- If you were the employer, how would you value this kind of work?

- If you were consulting instead of doing it as an employee, what would you charge for building a system like this?

I'd really appreciate hearing from agency owners, consultants, and anyone who's built complex HighLevel implementations. I'm trying to figure out what would be a fair way to value this work before I have the conversation.

Thanks in advance!

Ecom Freelancers - Let's Connect

Salam, everyone.

I have always felt freelancers in PK normally operate in a Silo where if they networked, they couls grow and wcale faster. This is a mistake I made, which I think prevented me from scaling faster. That is what prompted me to create this post.

I wanted to connect with other freelancers working / providing services to e-commerce brands. Maybe a community of sorts but filtered where we could support each other's success, refer clients if we are offering complimentary services, create collab opportunities, and so on. I am open to other suggestions / ideas.

About myself - I am a top rated Fiverr seller with agency on the side. Team of 12 and growing.

[For Hire] Girl I need work

I am 20 and I have put together a fiverr account where I want to monetize some of the skills that have been laying waste in me. Most I just read and attend classes and be depressed the rest of the time. Of course money is central to my angst.

Anywho, I can write. I run an Instagram page and sometimes publish stories on Substack. But just reading A Little Life and writing brooding stories is getting me nowhere in the slums

I want some work through my fiverr. Or some good suggestions on how I can get it. I only get creeps asking to contact them outside fiverr. I hate that shi.

I can design resume, maybe make your LinkedIn 'optimized' oh I hate that word.

I can made up the gigs in haste and I want someone to tell me where I am going wrong, for I have only attract the worst even on fiverr. I try both cold outreach and cold shower. Does not seem to work. Both.

If you have some work, please reach out.

Or else, please pray

Should I pivot from video editing to AI content creation?

Used to do freelance video editing, made some good bucks, but the last 1 year has been rough
lost focus, kept jumping between different things, couldn't stick to one thing.

One thing I keep coming back to is Gen AI, AI ads, AI images, AI content creation. I already have a background in editing and creativity so it feels like a natural move. Plus $$$ to PKR makes it worth going all in.

Anyone here doing AI creative services for foreign clients?

AMA! Working with 60+ clients in the US; Canada and Australia Combined!

Some Faqs:

- Never used any freelancing platforms

- We run a lead gen agency in the automotive niche

- Started with cold calling; then switched to DMs and content, now paid ads is the main source

- Invested in a lot of coaching and it was all worth it, constant feedback loops accelerate progress and free courses are good but you don’t have any accountability or direct feedback loops

- We use FB ads and Google ads to get our client results

Ama!

23M/ Making 9L/mon. POST 2

Hey everyone,

My DMs completely exploded after my post two weeks ago. So many of you asked how I'm actually making this kind of money with AI automation. I promised a no-gatekeeping breakdown, so let’s get straight into it. To be completely honest with you guys, what I’m sharing is 100% real truth—no fluff, just what worked.

Alhamdulillah, I hit 9 Lakh/month in just about 6 months. But it took a lot of grinding and a very specific strategy to get here.

1. The Strategy: Hyper-Focus First

Don’t try to learn 50 AI tools at once. It's overwhelming. I started by mastering just one specific thing: building landing pages using AI. I built a clean portfolio around just that, got my foot in the door with clients, and only added new skills after they trusted me. Now, I’ve picked up 5 or 6 different softwares along the way by solving client problems.

2. The Tech Stack

Once I scaled into full workflow automation, my tech stack became:

GoHighLevel (GHL): My absolute core platform for CRM, client funnels, and core operations.

n8n, Zapier, & Make.com: For backend AI automations and connecting apps.

3. The Hustle & The Pivot

Getting started was brutal. I spent three solid months applying on Upwork with zero luck. Once I finally landed that first client, momentum took over and I reinvested everything. Right now, I’m scaling into a proper agency. I'm collecting video reviews from my current clients and will be recording video content myself to boost our conversion.

4. I Need People to Outsource To

Honestly? I have too much work right now. I’m always looking for hungry people who want to learn. I brought a few people on board recently, but no luck—it didn't work out. I’m still looking for dedicated people to teach, with the goal of completely outsourcing my overflow work to you in the future.

My advice: Master one specific skill, land a client for it, and then stack more skills on top.
