What is this? and how to fix it?

I'm 18 years old and had Isotretinoin acne treatment a year and half ago. After that I didn't get much acne but some small ones here and there but now I feel like there are a lot of small ones and it's concerning. I have noticed i mostly get them on the side of my face and mostly on one side.

Suggestions needed for Dark patches (چھائیاں)

Hi, my wife has these dark patches on her face called Chaiyyan چھائیاں in Urdu (not sure about the English word). They have been there since our child's birth (about 1.5 years now) and they aren't going away. If you have tried anything that works, that would be really helpful. Thanks.

Dandruff and black patches on cheeks

Any suggestions on what to do about these are appreciated. Any recommendations on a good Doc in Lahore?

P.S. I was able to peel that layer off of my scalp, or some of it at least, though I was not trying to. So again, not sure what it is.

Thank you to everyone who has replied or will reply to the post.

Am I balding

I’m so confused, I always lose a lot of hair and it definitely is less than what it was in my childhood
I don’t know if my hair looks normal or should I be seriously concerned.

Plis plis plis, help a brother out!

Hello everyone, please help a brother out.

My sister has been struggling with acne for the past 4–5 years, and it has affected her self-esteem quite badly. Her periods are regular, usually on a consistent 28-day cycle, but she tends to get breakouts, especially around the time her period is approaching.

She recently saw a senior dermatologist in Islamabad who recommended isotretinoin. We got her lipid profile, LFTs, and creatinine checked, and thankfully everything came back normal. She is supposed to start at 20 mg.

The reason I’m particularly anxious about this is that I personally struggle with severe anxiety, and my sister can sometimes experience low moods as well. So naturally, I’m extremely concerned about the potential psychiatric side effects of isotretinoin. I would take mental peace over clear skin any day, and I absolutely do not want her to compromise her mental health just for her skin.

So would genuinely appreciate hearing from people who have actually taken isotretinoin:

* How was your experience overall?
* Did you experience any mood changes, anxiety, depression, or other psychological side effects?
* If you experienced them, did they start after beginning isotretinoin, or were you already dealing with them beforehand?
* What happened after you stopped? Did the side effects completely resolve?
* Have you had any long-term or lingering effects after completing the course?
* Did isotretinoin actually make a significant difference to your acne?
* Looking back, would you recommend taking it?
* Is there anything you wish you had known before starting?

I’ve also come across some really frightening claims online about isotretinoin causing severe complications or even sudden death. I don’t know how much of that is actually supported by evidence versus internet horror stories, so I would really appreciate hearing from people with genuine firsthand experience.

I’m not looking for people to scare me or blindly reassure me either. I just want honest experiences so I can understand what my sister might be getting into and make sure she is monitored properly.

This is genuinely coming from the deepest corner of my heart. I just want the best for my sister and don’t want her to suffer unnecessarily, whether that means suffering from acne and the damage it has done to her confidence or from a medication that could potentially affect her mental health.

Thank you so much in advance to everyone who takes the time to share their experience. ❤️

DERM RECCO: DR OSAMA BABAR

Hi!

Just wanted to shout out the amazing Dr. Osama Babar! Visited him during his Karachi clinic a month ago for some acne related scarring, and he was the most patient, helpful & understanding derm I’ve ever been to.

Islambadites are so lucky to have him. 10/10 would recommend him.

Where do you guys buy authentic skincare products in Pakistan? 🇵🇰

Hey everyone! I’m looking for reliable websites/stores in Pakistan where I can buy 100% authentic skincare products.
I’m mainly looking for brands like The Ordinary, CeraVe, COSRX, La Roche-Posay, etc.
There are so many online stores claiming their products are original, so I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually ordered from them.
Which stores/websites do you personally trust, and which ones should I avoid?

Thanks

Want to ask something.

So right now, I use a 2% salicylic acid face wash and a moisturising face wash. Should I continue using both together or should I only use the salicylic acid one?

Best hair dermatologist recommendations in karachi

Assalam-o-Alaikum

Please suggest, if anyone knows, the best dermatologist in Karachi with proven results (especially for hair). I'm (M27) also facing a hair fall issue, no bald patches so far, so I want to know what a good hair care routine would be, which shampoo I should use, and most importantly, how to minimize it.
