Me and my team have been arguing over what feels like the smallest product decision, but we genuinely can't agree.

We're building an app, and when someone joins our waitlist, the current flow is pretty simple:

User enters their email.

They get a success message.

We send them a confirmation email.

My thought was... why not also show them their exact waitlist position?

Something like:

🎉 You're #67 on the waitlist.

To me, it makes the experience feel more real. Instead of submitting your email into a black hole and leaving, you instantly know your spot. You also see that other people are interested, and it gives you a reason to check back later.

My team completely disagrees.

Their argument is that we're still very early (less than 100 people on the waitlist), and seeing #34 or #82 will actually hurt trust because the number looks "too small." They keep telling me this is a millennial way of thinking, while Gen Z users supposedly won't care—or worse, it'll make the product seem unpopular.

Now I'm curious what people outside our little bubble think.

If you landed on a startup's waitlist:

• Would seeing your position make the experience better?
• Would a waitlist of under 100 people make you less likely to trust the product?
• Or would you rather not see any number at all until the waitlist is much larger?

Hi! I have a basic understanding of how QR codes work. As far as I know, one QR code points to one URL, and if that URL changes or no longer exists, the QR code won't work.

Here's my situation:

I'm printing a set of stickers, each with a different emotion/expression. Instead of having every sticker's QR code open the exact same website, I'd like each one to first show a personalized popup/message that matches the sticker's emotion, and then direct the user to the main website.

For example:

• Happy sticker → "You're looking cheerful today! 😄"
• Sleepy sticker → "Need a nap? 😴"
• Angry sticker → "Take a deep breath 😤"

After that message, the user would continue to the same website.

What's the best way to implement this????

Do I need to create a separate webpage (or route) for every sticker, each with its own personalized popup, and then generate a unique QR code for each one? Or is there a better, more scalable approach?????????

The product is still in development, but the goal right now is to build an engaged waitlist, validate demand, and get early feedback before launch.

I'm a technical founder, so building the product has been the easy part. Marketing and distribution are where I'm struggling.

For those of you who've successfully grown a waitlist:

• What were the fastest channels that actually worked?
• If you had to get your first 100–500 waitlist signups, what would you do today?
• Are there any communities, launch platforms, or growth tactics that gave you the best ROI?
• Would you recommend paid ads this early, or should I focus entirely on organic growth?

I have purchased the domain from Hostinger "ustadApp" [.com] but i need the email for it, if i get it from the domain provider, its costing me a lil, which i dont want to spend because the project is not generating any revenue

So I'm looking for some other options to which i got

Option 1: create a gmail account, something like
[hello.ustadapp] at gmail .com
[ustadapp] at gmail.com

or

option 2: go for cloudflare email provider

But I haven't used it before. This is my first time doing it

== i have explored zoho but now they aint providing free professional email

Suggest to me if i should go for option 2 and if it won't affect anything, or if there's any better option for me to go for
