Sparse yielded of TTBVI
I grew 8 trays of TTBVI in a Martha Stewart tent and they are all at different stages and sparse. Any ideas how I can get a better second flush? Temp was 82F, humidity 90 deg, no misting. Pinned in 3 days.

This is just a few weeks old… I used some LC and it was slow to take off, but wow look at it now.
Please suggest a substrate recipe… I have horse poo, coir, verm, gypsum, all the typical stuff.
Do I sterilize or pasteurize? I have access to a very accurate oven that will go up to 160F.
For you experienced folks out there, as the title states: Is it possible to inoculate a pre-sterilized grain bag without buying a sealer? For instance, could you cut open the top, well above the air exchange port, inoculate, and just roll and clamp shut? Thank you.
I ordered a 12” monotub kit cause that is about all the space I can negotiate from my partner for my experiments. I know it’s not ideal but it’s doable. I’m doctoring the ingredients that came with the kit to make it more pan friendly. I have no expectations but why not fuck around. So far the mycelium looks gorgeous. Is b&s a thing with pans?
Here is the second flush of my dutch growkit,
Do you think i should harvest now or i should wait for the tiny pins to grow and wait all the family to be complete ?!?;))
Thanks for your advice,
Ttbvi.. put to grain on 7/22, substrate on 8/3, cased on 8/7. I think it took longer on grain because it was a spore germination plate. I'll wait another day or two to harvest for better spore production for my next round of prints. Tent grown on 50/50ish manure/straw with verm and lime added. Casing was jiffy with added lime
Tiny crop but high powerful mushroom i hope ;)
The first one did 3g dry, i will weight this one after drying and tell ya
Since straw tends to contaminate quite easily, which is what VL does in his EF-Tek (he uses shredded hemp), I was wondering why not:
- first inoculate a grain-and-straw mixture (3:6 ratio);
- then mix it with coco coir and vermiculite;
- then put it into fruiting conditions.
I’m considering filling a small Tupperware container and then putting it straight into an SGFC, as I usually do with my Psilocybe mexicana. What do you think?
This is my first time. I put it to substrate 5 days ago. Does it normally pin this fast?
Apres une petite premiere recolte, la deuxieme est partie dès le lendemain, ca point à pas mal d endroits c est cool
I left it upside down with the tub on. Just went out and flipped the mix over curious if any fruits were to be had.
Anyone ever use the coir to case their ttbvi? How long do I wait for it too cool after pasturizing
first time growing pans, can’t tell if these are ready to harvest or not. haven’t seen any spores or anything
I had the opaque lid. Tragedy struck my grow twice basically dooming it. Ended up with trich for the first time ever in any grow.
Power went out for about three days, and I just had to go and fuck with my lid. I should've just left it alone. Though I probably messed up most by sitting on grain spawn a bit too long before spawning to bulk. Guess I'll try again shortly
Knocked up on the 8/9 with MiB redspore. Gonna Fafo with a tub next.
Spawn to bulk and did casing layer 9 days later but seems like it’s colonizing even the casing layer? First time growing Pans
Using gordotek
After an unsuccessful spore-to-grain attempt, I want to try agar petri plates next.
So... what is the community preference for petri plates? Purchased pre-made sterile plates from a vendor? Homemade agar poured into plates and then sterilized in a pressure cooker?
