Favourite dosage?

I got my hands on a lot of fresh pans and bought a dehydrator to dry them, I had quite a nice experience with 15g(each) fresh with my gf. Then after that we decided to take 2g dry each (didnt know they dried up to 5%) and it was absolutely mental but not quite ego death(we are both quite experienced psychonauts).

Now im seeing everywhere that that high of a dose is absolutely bonkers for pans so i was wondering what is yall recommended/favourite dosage?

Aio bag - first time?

Inoculated 2 weeks ago with LC - agar looked good - think maybe the heat was too high. Chuck? The brown stuff is gelatinous - not liquidy - thanks

Overlay problem

This is my first go at pan c "blue ridge". Both trays are overlaying and bruising blue. The trays "ttbvi" next to them look normal and starts popping of the first shroomies.

I was thinking to put on a second casinglayer. Is this a good idea? Any thoughts /tips?

Pan attempt 2: electric poogaloo

My first attempt at Pan Cyan failed spectacularly. I attempted to use a home made setup with an automated fan that just dried everything out. Got full colonization, but no fruits. Eventually both shoeboxes got hit with contam, and I had to toss them. I tossed the set up with them.

I bought a kit from Midwestern grow tech. The gordo tek kit. It came with everything I needed. I had another jar of MiB pans ready to go, so I went to S2B right away.

Let me tell you. The manure substrate that comes with this kit STINKS. Whole house reeks now. It is fully mixed, pasteurized and hydrated already, so maybe thats why it smells so bad compared to the boomer manure sub that I got from northspore...but WOW.

Well, the deed is done anyway, just gonna wait and see, hopefully I have better luck this time, just gonna follow Gordo step by step.

Why aren't they fruiting

Does anyone have any clues on why my ttbvi isn't fruiting? The white timer is my fan cycle and the black electronic one shows my temp and humidity. I've been lightly misting about twice a day just to keep moisture but it just keeps colonizing the peat moss instead of fruiting.

Pan Cyan agar (weza), transparent halo around mycelium — bacteria or normal?

The mycelium grows white with no obvious mold contamination, but growth is slow and there’s always a transparent/wet-looking halo around the mycelium. The strange thing is the halo only appears around the growing mycelium and doesn’t spread across the plate by itself.

I took transfers from the clean edge, but the same thing appeared again on the new plates (second pic, day 3).

So now I’m confused

is this bacterial contamination hitchhiking with the mycelium?

should I keep transferring on agar or move to grain?

can cultures like this still fruit normally?

First pic = original spore plate

Second pic = transfer plate

Deconstructed Multispore TTBVI

I thought this was a good showcase of what isolation does. A year ago these were all from the same spore print. It is almost to the point to where I can tell what strain they are by the fruit. Most are only 2-3 cloned generations away from the original spore.

No Good...?

I pasteurized four of these, several months ago. This is the only one that has this dark band in it. I'm guessing it's a black mold (or something), and that I shouldn't use it.

I didn't think the others were an issue, but I just opened one up and used it to send some grain to bulk. It did not smell good. It smelled like shit. I mean, it's manure based, so that's partially expected, but it smelled much stronger than any of my past batches.

I'm not hopeful on this run. The only thing I am hanging onto, is that I normally use bulk the day after I pasteurize it. I heard leaving it for a week can be beneficial, allowing some good microbes to recover.

Either way, the grain spawn was slow, and I wasn't looking to carry that line forward, so if I lose this bulk run, then so be it.

Any help/info for helping dense pinsets continue to grow in? Would thicker casing layer support healthier pinsets? What causes this?

I'm wondering if this is normal or not but when I get super dense pinsets, the mushrooms are often times super thin and come in very slow. I'm watering the casing twice a day making sure its not drying out. There is plenty of moisture in the substrate, I can feel it, but my casing layers are extremely thin around 1/8th inch and will dry down if not watered (I think from the pins drinking and the air exchange)

This is maybe 4-5 days from seeing pins, they hopefully have another few days (or 4-5) to go if they don't abort.

Some things I notice correlating (I think) with overly dense pinsets:
Higher amounts of grain/too high
Maybe thicker casing?
Genetics? (fwiw, these are from two different Bvi prints i've worked a handful of generations down the line, labeled AB2 and A4)

FAE Cycle is 4 minutes on, 11 minutes off. I'm using a 4 inch 100cfm fan (I change if I have it set to high medium or low because I'm not sure what is ideal). Martha tent, set to 90% Humidity.
