I took a syringe I had and put a couple of CC's on an agar plate. The plate colonized very heavily. Can I put all the contents of the plate in a grain bag and mix it in to colonize the bag?
I just started messing with plates and thought I could only use the plate to colonize a culture jar.
Skipping that with this plate since it's a variety I've got already culturing in a jar would be helpful
In my grows I am getting pretty thick mushrooms and am currently dehydrating at 120° for 19 to 20 hours. At the end of that time some of the thicker ones are still a little bit soft. The one in the picture was still soft after 20 hours at 120°. It is ODPE. It was soft on some of the stem but other parts were getting to crunchy.
I want to hear from the seasoned professionals out there. What temperature do you dehydrate at and for how long? And can you really over dry a shroom where it affects the potency?
I'm wanting to grow these poppies next summer. Where is the best place to source seeds? I'm in Colorado.

Happy Wednesday. Curious question. I just bought the supplies to develop mycelium. I've got a sample on a agar plate now.
My real question is that I've got a couple of syringes of mycelium I bought from the store. If I inject one of the jars with that syringe will it grow more mycelium and ultimately give me more to work with?

I just bought the malt agar plates the still air box and the other necessities. Does anyone recommend a video I watch or any other educational resources on culture growing?
I have really gotten into growing psychedelic mushrooms.
I don't enjoy taking them myself because about 45 minutes in I dry heave for a half hour and then my journey can begin. I don't look forward to that dry heaving part.
Problem is I'm overrun with mushrooms and don't really know what to do with all of them 😂😂
I'm about to harvest my second flush of mushrooms that were started in a bag. They are in a hard cake now. I have transferred them to a mono tub that has perlite at the bottom soaked in water and they are laying on foil.
Some reading I have done says to dunk the cake and submerge it in spring water for a few hours.
Is that accurate?
What does that process look like submerging the whole cake for a few hours. I've read some places that say up to 12 hours but that seems like a very long time to submerge the cake.
Is there any place local in Denver metro area where we can have mushrooms tested to see if they've been laced with something or if they have had any kind of poisonous mushroom added to them or something along those lines.
My wife took shrooms on Thursday. We are in Colorado where this is legal. Everything was fine. Friday night she started acting drunk. That continued through Saturday and didn't get better.
We ended up in the ED on Sunday. The best way to describe it is that she acts drunk slowed speech lack of coordination no depth perception cognitive functioning is very very low slow movement you name it.
They tested her for everything under the sun. Completed a CT scan and an MRI with contrast. Imaging all showed normal and nothing abnormal about her labs.
Has anyone ever seen anyone ever experience this after going on a trip. It's now Tuesday and she still struggling to form words and is unsteady slow speech and everything. They referred her to a neurologist. I don't think it's mushroom related but if anyone in this group knows someone who has had an experience like that after taking mushrooms please let me know.

Most of what she took was sourced through a licensed business. She did also eat some caps and steme that were gifted from someone.
She's going through a lot with her mom right now and has been seeing a psychiatrist but has been kind of passed around to different psychiatrists because the practice has psychiatrists that leave and such. She was on a very high dose of Wellbutrin and Zoloft that she stopped over a month ago.
She was placed on a small dose of buspirone about a week and a half before.
The psychiatrist also gave her propranolol 10 mg twice a day PRN and I learned that she had been taking it twice a day. She doesn't have high blood pressure and it was supposed to be an anxiety rescue med but she was just taking it. We were seeing blood pressure numbers around 90/50 and numbers like that.
It's very scary what we're dealing with. They did release her from the hospital and gave her a neurology referral but we are parents to a 4-year-old kid and I'm terrified to leave him in her care with all of her forgetfulness and lack of coordination and cognitive deficit.
Please don't give me any crap about it stupid seeking medical advice on Reddit I'm just trying to find out if anyone has ever had this experience or knows anyone that had this experience related to mushrooms. I'm just really trying to rule that out.
Update: I guess it's important to mention that my timeline may be off. She's been dealing with her mom and cancer. Her mom is also developing dementia. Her mom literally called her 25 times when we were in the ER but didn't know we were there when her sister reached out to Mom she learned that Mom was mad because three eye holes in her knitting needle was too small and wanted my wife to fix it now. Her psych put her on high fine Wellbutrin and Zoloft. In therapy they identified it read anxiety. She went off those meds 5 weeks ago and was placed on 7.5mg buspirone. I posted last night about these bags and it was recommended that I wait till the veils open. I looked at it this morning and there are several with open veils that are spread wide open but a lot of them still have the caps closed. Should I wait till I'm a majority of them have those whales open?

I'm so excited. My grow bags that I was worried about have started to fruit. After one of the members here nacho Queen commented I went ahead and taped up the hole I cut in them to mist them and have left them alone but they are coming along and I'm so excited. This is my first grow!
Both bags have a lot of side pinning going on.
After the first harvest should I move them to a tub?
I'm learning that I have a very low tolerance four psilocybin. 1 gram gives me full effect. I've also noticed something else and I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this. I had cervical fusion surgery and cervical disc replacement surgery along with chronic neck pain. I'm on a pretty low dose of oxycodone. 5 mg three times a day.
I am physically tolerant on the oxycodone but I noticed that within an hour or 30 minutes of taking the psilocin that I start yawning and my eyes are tearing and then my neck starts hurting so it seems like the psilocin is knocking the oxy off of the opioid receptors.
This is taking gummies that have the active ingredient psilocin. When I take mushrooms I dry heave after about half hour for 20 or 30 minutes and also have the repetitive yawning and eye watering and then move through it.
Has anyone else experienced this? It goes away if I take another oxy and then I settle in and do okay but that first hour hour and a half really sucks.
I can only imagine taking two or three grams.
I'm just wondering if anyone else who is opioid dependent experiences this effect?
My wife can take three or four grams and barely get visuals and feels very what she describes as a body high.
I've noticed if I microdose 0.2 g then this does not happen.
I am 3 weeks in on this grow. I got the colonized bags from happy mushrooms and follow their videos. Left them alone for the first week after spreading open the bag to get air and then after 1 week I cut just below the air patch to do a little misting every other day. One bag looks like it's coming along but the other one has some fuzz at the top of the substrate. I do see some standing water at the bottom of each bag. What are y'all's thoughts on what's going on in each?

I got two grow bags from happy mushrooms last week. These were started on Saturday and I'm seeing them mycelium. The videos say I need to open them up and give them oxygen after the first week so this weekend I will sterilize a spray bottle and start that part of the process but I'm excited to see the outcome of this very first grow.

One of the curiosities is DMT but from everything I've read the substance naturally occurs in a number of tropical plants.

Colorado isn't a tropical place so I don't know where to find these plants. Does anyone know a nursery that sells these ornamental plants that I could purchase and grow myself?
