Season 16 Support Builds

I'm pretty new to Pantheon, and I have been trying to get an idea of what good builds are out there. But, coming from a burst mage background where itemization is all about damage, I have been feeling a little overwhelmed with the new items and the diversity of build paths you can do with this champ.

I like to play the roaming support playstyle, where I am all over the map. I don't mind setting my team up by just holding enemies still, but I prefer to have some good damage so I have a bit more agency.

So far some general build paths that I have seen recommended are:

Bruiser: Swifties -> Black Cleaver/Sundered Sky (both items but order depends on matchup) -> Deaths Dance -> randuins or maw (depending on damage threat)

This one seems the most consistent over a large amount of games due to the mixture of damage and survivability.

Lethality/Squishy Build:

CDR boots -> Ghostblade -> other lethality item depending on game state -> collector -> lord dom or mortal reminder -> infinity edge

This seems like a more high risk/high reward build. I've tried this and the damage buffs are nice, but it's a lot easier to get killed.

The last build I have seen, but haven't tried is:

CDR Boots -> Eclipse -> BORK -> lord dom -> deaths dance -> ghostblade if squishy or cleaver if tanky

What is this build for? Is this kind of like the lethality build but for tankier enemy comps? Or is this build a little outdated, since it looks like eclipse isn't great on pantheon nowadays?

Again, I'm new to these items and champ so I don't know too much of what I am talking about. But these are builds I have seen recommended.

Finally hit platinum as a Pantheon support. Started in Iron in 2023

I finally hit Platinum as a Pantheon support main! I don't play nearly as much as I used to, so peaking now feels especially rewarding. I know my biggest weakness is dying too often due to inconsistency, and that's something I'm actively working on. Besides improving that, I'd love any feedback—positive or negative. Are there any habits, macro decisions, roaming timings, vision control, or matchup tips that could help me become more consistent and keep climbing? I'm open to constructive criticism and would appreciate any advice from experienced players

Thoughts on Aery for lane

Been doin' some thinking, and thinking about how the usual runes are mainly good for our man's all-in, and even then not the best.

Yeah you can keep conqueror up at a distance fairly early if you Q on cooldown, but he's not the kind of brawler who wants to try to drain tank even with it fully stacked at the start of your all-in. It's hardly any AD even then, nevermind teamfights where your all-in is your best bet of stacking it, and best case you still won't have it fully stacked until the next spell rotation.

PTA and Electrocute can't be procced with his poke, unlike champs who apply on-hits. So you get nothing out of them most of the time, until your all-in. And to get the most out of PTA, you need to heavily telegraph it since they know you want to empower W. (which tbf can also be used for bait)

But Aery can be procced every Q, and multiple times with your all-in, since the return trip will be shorter. And unlike all the other options, will always be the second instance of damage, putting another stack of Cleaver ahead of the rest of your combo.

Plus, being the secondary you normally take anyway, you can still bring transcendence and scorch, but manaflow to replace presence of mind without having to give up the other two precision secondaries.

Edit:

Since I did the math/testing of Aery versus DFT for a comment, figured I'd include it in the post.

Aery is 10 - 54.71 (+10%bAD).

DFT is 3 - 12 (+7%bAD)/s. Since Q is AoE, it only burns 2s instead of 3, so it's 6-24 (14%bAD).

Lv 1, you have 21 bAD.

  • Aery: 10 + (2) = 12
  • DFT: 6 + (3) = 9

Lv 6, around 41.

  • Aery: 22 + (4) = 26
  • DFT: 6 + (6) = 12

Lv 13, around 81.

  • Aery: 38 + (8) = 46
  • DFT: 9 + (11) = 20

Old pantheon similar champs

im a returner to league, i play on season 5 to 7 and i like pantheon, specially the spear in lane and then just repeating it until the enemy is low and i engage and ignite. What are similar champions to that? I want the gameplay to be, poke poke poke in lane and then when they get angry and engage on me, i just stun them and then back off. I dont need to win the late game as long as i dominate my lane in the early game and make the other top laner miserable, i think old pantheon is perfect for this but they changed it, the q now needs skill and its not spammable anymore.

How does Pantheon's passive work?

So I started playing Pantheon support and I wanted to ask because I didn't fully understand it.

First thing, is your 5th hit empowered? or does your 5th hit make your passive fully stacked and your 6th hit is empowered?

When you hit your empowered shot, does it just reset the passive and its now at 0? Or does your empowered hit reset it and add one stack to your passive? I mean after the empowered hit is my passive now at 0 or 1?

Also I asked AI and it says that when I land my Q when my passive is at 4 charges, it automatically becomes empowered despite being the 5th hit. Is it true or not cause when I asked again it said the opposite. Im confused.

(I know my sentences are made assuming the previous ones are true, but I'm not sure. Just want to learn.)

And extra question, whats the best all-out combo? Not a trade.

One step closer to Glory 🌟

7 months ago, I was promoted to Emerald. Today, I finally took the next step up.
And as long as my spear points towards the heavens, I shall rise higher on the mountains.

To my fellow climbers, I hope you'll achieve your goals this split.

LF Masters+ NA Pantheon Main for Flex

Like the title mentions. I'm ideally looking for a Pantheon who plays regularly who is Masters+ solo que and is Emerald or near Emerald in flex. There is a rank restriction in flex once one person in the lobby is Masters+ everyone else has to be Emerald+ in flex.

Looking for someone who is able to VC and isn't toxic. We want to make a Challenger push.

Which 2 other champs to OTP besides Pantheon?

Hey Soldiers, I've been religiously spamming Pantheon in Top lane for multiple seasons now and while I'm a firm believer that OTPing a champ is better than having 10+ available picks, I also know that a champ alone won't fit for every role in the team.
So I've decided to change things up and add 2 other champs that would fill in roles that Pantheon can't fill.
I have trouble finding the right picks though, so I would appreciate anyone (with a good understanding of the game and top lane ty) giving me some suggestions.

My OP.gg if that gives any insight.

Hubris first?

I’ve been building it first item in a lot of my games recently as I tend to get quite a lot of kills/kp when I play pantheon (I play him jungle). And I think the stacking ad is pretty nice. But since coming back to the game there’s a lot of items I don’t really recognise and haven’t had a chance to play much yet.

My build path usually atm is hubris-Boots-sundered-cleaver-voltaic- last item is usually just to counter whoever is their carry.

Just not sure if the extra ad is worth or not over some of the other items in the game.

What items do I go for pantheon jungle

I’m not new to league but Ive been really trying to get better recently and one thing I do t understand is what to build and when to build it.

For most in depth pantheon guides on YouTube most of the time there item guides are outdated and these items now suck for pantheon or something else.

My problem is that most games I’m basically going sundered or eclipse first into black cleaver or steraks but some games I feel like if I went something like hubris first that might’ve been the smarter option because I had a huge kill lead or sometimes I don’t understand what I’m gaining from going deaths dance instead of guardian angel.

Same with the runes if one game I feel like pta is better than conquer would I change my build up a little. I’m just getting my thoughts out here because I feel like understand what to build and when to build it would really improve my game and especially the lethality items like serpents edge yommus and rage blade

I feel like I have a lot of opportunities to further my leads in games with better itemization so please help me.
