Hey TN world 👋

I love a good Kraft folder in my TN’s and have them in each of my regular sized TN’s (great to add the pen loops too as well!)

But.. I couldn’t stomach spending the £16 plus shipping for the official Paper Republic one (even if it does look lovely!)

An A3 piece of 300gsm watercolour paper, some double sided sticky tape and knife later…. We have a budget version! 😂

I don’t see the point in the card slots - It’s been many many years since I’ve kept a business card!

This is for the A5 Le Portfolio (which isn’t A5 and an A5 folder would overhang annoyingly!)

I couldn’t find a single person making a third party version, hence the DIY!

I mean, what are your modules? To-do lists? Calendar? Daily journals? Something unexpected? Something whimsical?

I'm asking because I'm having a hard time determining if I want a modular set up, or I just want something new because my one-book-to-rule-them-all feels boring to me. I'd like to know what you put in there to carry around, and if it stays put or comes with you always/most of the time.

I came across Peter McKinnon's youtube video here, and he just looks like he gets a genuine kick out of throwing down ideas or mementos or whatever into his notebooks. I don't have that. I have to-do lists and calendars and reminders to get more medication from the vet soon. I know how many days it's been since I cleaned the toilet bowl, or changed the bed sheets.

It feels stale.

I don't know if mine is a problem of creativity, or ignorance of other uses.

So I'm curious to know how other people use their modular systems.

Hi everyone,

So... I already own a gorgeous olive A4 GV notebook; I've had it for almost a year, and even though it mostly stays at the office, it’s already developed a nice patina... I also have a red leather "The Fold" wallet that’s three years old (that one could use some TLC...). I can post photos if anyone’s interested!

Anyway, I want my next and final purchase to be special, it will either be an A6 trifold or portfolio in venezia or black... I’ve been thinking about different customization options and I keep coming back to the "dripping" roadbook by Louise C or the "drip" leather cover from B18 uk co. It’s sooo cute I'm obsessed.

Unfortunately PR doesn't offer that kind of customization to my knowledge. So I’ve considered DIY it but I could use some advice:

What kind of paint should I use? Will the paint age well (will the pigments fade overtime)?? What tools do I need?

I’ve never done any DIY anything before... is it risky to give it a try?

I got an A6 in olive green, and have it set up ready for 2027: weekly planner, lists journal and commonplace book!
I put another ribbon to have double ribbons inside. Have I tied them too tightly? Should I loosen them to avoid damaging the spine/leather?
Can’t wait to use it every day! 💚
