Community homeless pantry

Hi guys, after thoughts cause I’m not sure if I’m viewing this wrong

There is a local shop with a bookcase set up out the front as a drop off for community donations / collection point for homeless people

Having a coffee at local shop this morning and saw someone come and completely fill it, $100+ of food which is amazing!

Not even 5 minutes later the staff came out with boxes and took 3/4 of it away.

I asked them why and they said it’s so nobody hoards the food and people just take what they need and they restock it when their open.

It’s already nearly empty and won’t be restocked until business reopens on Wednesday.

There is such a need in our community this feels wrong to empty it and not restock for days

Public surgery wait lists at Nepean

Hi all, I’ve just received a referral to the ENT outpatient to get surgery for my deviated septum, likely looking at category 2 but waiting to be triaged. Has anyone been on the public wait list and could advise how long you waited for your surgery and when? What category were you?

If you’re on the wait list currently, how long has it been and what have you been Tom about the estimated wait?

Any other relevant info or comments are very welcome!
Thanks 🙏

Thornton Estate/Lord Sheffield Crescent Buildings- Safe?

Hey everyone, recent-ish new resident here. Looking to move out of my current apartment ASAP due to danger (residents break into each other’s units, everyone smokes inside, people leave sharps laying around, I can generally always hear some sort of domestic going on) but I’m finding it hard to trust the safety of any place following my experiences here.

How safe are the buildings near the station? They look newer/nicer than my current one, but I’d really like to hear personal experiences from people who live there.

I’m a young female living alone for context. I can’t stop looking over my shoulder after the break in. I’m scared all the time. Does anyone have any advice?

Police Union claims homeless man Officers assaulted was being intimidating, 'edited' video used to make them look bad

The Police Association of NSW have posted on their facebook a video from their president defending his members, by claiming the video was edited, offscreen there was a family who were intimidated by this man (which they later gave lunch for, for some reason?) and we all should be aware of people using this video to judge officers.
Luckily, the judgement from the public has led to comments being disabled on facebook.

If only there was bodycam footage that could be released, if the original video was heavily edited and misleading?

Any Good Pubs/Clubs Going Solo

Will be staying in Penrith this weekend for a business trip. Can anyone recommend a good pub/club to go to for an early 40s fellow on their own? Thanks!

Dental Payment Plan Options?

Hi all,

I’m 28 and have pretty bad teeth. They are clean, I brush twice a day, but struggle with flossing due to how crowded my teeth are - both top and bottom with some rotated fully sideways.
I recently developed a fairly wicked toothache and figured I should probably try get a dental plan sorted, but like most of us at the moment money is tight. I’m getting married next year so may as well see if I can get away with Invisalign too.

Does anyone have any local recommendations for a good dentist, that offers payment plan options?
