Silly Filipino-American diaspora

Imagine a Filipino citizen (me) who’s minding his own business and tries to do some good In the world to rehabilitate our image internationally

Only for some Fil-Am idiot who’s never seen the Philippines to suddenly speak on my behalf.

These people genuinely live in another planet.

Bawal ba mahalin ang country for all its flaws and faults?

Also OOP should vote in 2028 if they want to make a change. If they hate the country so much they wouldve left a long time ago, or maybe they cant.

I know the country has deep issues especially today but tayo lang rin ang makakapagsolve ng mga ito by educating ourselves and others on voting wisely. No iron first nor external nation can solely fix our issues for us.

Also r/philippinesbad mentioned!

ER doctor fulfilling the elitist stereotype ng mga doctor

Note the pride OOP takes in dismissing other Filipinos, and their casual forgetfulness on how democracy works.

Found this on my FB feed, i think it fits this sub.

POST description

Defeatism is disgusting.

An average indio 300 years ago could hardly imagine being free from Spanish colonial rule. People in that time didn't know what Philippines would become because they are living their historical moment, just like we are living ours now.

The Philippines that exists today might have been unimaginable to many Filipinos during Martial Law. A better Philippines 50 or 100 years from now can be equally unimaginable to some of us.

Things will not magically become better. We will be rolling with the punches and it will be up to us to refuse to accept that the present is permanent.

"Things are bad" doesn't mean "There is no hope

PNRI chief eyes barangay-level education on nuclear power - Bilyonaryo News Channel

Interviewed on Bilyonaryo News Channel’s “At the Forefront” program, PNRI Director Valerie Samson said communities could be hesitant to host nuclear facilities because of limited understanding of the technology, including its potential benefits and safety measures.

“The hesitation of hosting a nuclear power plant is of course the community that doesn’t know anything about nuclear and they are not aware of the benefits of hosting a nuclear power plant in their locality,” Samson said.

“It is the task of the Nuclear Energy Program Interagency Committee to educate our local stakeholders on nuclear,” she added.

I really hate how the main sub keep twisting the word "Resiliency" as something bad. God forbid people do things to survive any disaster such as this

Kahit na ba ganyan ung ginagawa nung mga tao, sa ringing ba ng OOP sapat na dahilan yan para di seryosohin ng gobyerno yang di matapos tapos na problema sa baha? Why is the blame on the people and not the corrupt politicians their fraudulent flood control projects na paulit ulit nang pinonpost ng punyemas na sub na yan?

The way they practically demonize the word "Resiliency" like it's the main reason why our country is the state that it really rubs me the wrong way.
