Hi everyone, this is my phobie PopBob, the killer clown (pretty cliché but... ignore it) It is inspired by the phobia of clowns, coulrophobia.

Phobie Concept

PopBob - The High-Skill Dimensional Assassin (5 Keys)

Hello everyone! I wanted to share a fan concept I created for a high-skill, strategic Phobie named PopBob. He is a creepy clown centered around mind games, prediction, and dimensional teleportation. Here is his card profile:

POPBOB CARD PROFILE

Description:

"He loves birthday parties, but no one ever stays to sing along. If he offers you a balloon, run... before he vanishes into thin air and reappears right behind you."

General Information

Name: PopBob

Race: Dimensional

Rarity: Rare

Key Cost: 6 Keys

Base Stats (Level 1)

Health (HP): 1100

Movement: 3 Tiles (Type: Walker)

Attack Range: 1 Tile

Base Damage: 700

Active Ability: "Do You Want a Balloon?"

Target Range: 2 Tiles

Cooldown: 3 Turns (activates after teleporting)

Mechanic: PopBob places a floating red balloon on any empty tile within range. On his next turn, the ability changes to "Pop!". Activating it causes PopBob to pop the balloon remotely and instantly teleport to that specific tile.

Counterplay: The balloon has only 1 HP. If an enemy Phobie steps on it or attacks it before PopBob teleports, the balloon pops, and the ability enters cooldown.

Passive Ability: "Magic Trick"

Mechanic: If PopBob teleports using his balloon and reappears on a tile directly adjacent to an enemy, he automatically performs a surprise stab at the end of the turn if he left the balloon at that exact turn.

Effect: The attack damage increases to 950 (instead of 725) and applies a Bleed effect (the target takes 150 damage at the start of their next 2 turns).

Restriction: PopBob cannot use his basic attack normally if you choose to teleport on that same turn.

Sound Effects

Spawn: A fast balloon inflating sound, followed by rubber squeaking and a muffled, psychotic giggle.

Movement: Echoing, distorted oversized clown shoes squeaking on the floor.

Basic Attack: A sharp, metallic slicing sound cutting through the air.

Ability Activation: A creepy, out-of-tune music box melody playing for 2 seconds.

Teleport + Passive: A loud, echoing balloon pop layered with a deep stabbing sound and a manic, echoing laugh.

Taking Damage: A brief, fake crying sound that instantly cuts into an angry growl.

Death: The long, slow sound of air leaking from a deflating balloon as his body collapses.

Gameplay Style

PopBob is a fragile but highly dangerous Dimensional assassin. With 1450 HP, he cannot survive a direct head-on fight against heavy tanks. He forces the opponent to make a psychological choice: either waste an action to destroy the balloon, retreat entirely, or risk getting heavily punished by a high-damage dimensional stab on the next turn.

How the Pity System works, and what it means for the future of Phobies

Alright, as of the Fuller Discloser Update, we now have the Pity System in the form of Vendy Bucks (Or Vbucks as I'll call them) and Vendy Packs. You can hold 300 Vbucks and 200 are needed to open a Vendy Pack, which guarantees a Rare or Ultra Rare, or just an Ultra Rare if you have all Rares. Oh also there's a TL;DR at the end if you want to skip all of this.

The formula for gaining Vbucks is as follows:
100 Coffee = 1 Vbuck
Vbucks are only earned if you get no new Phobie from the pack

This applies to ALL coffee packs, including the ones in the VIP Pass. Keep in mind this does not apply to Tear Packs. The Pity System is also accumulative, not losestreak dependent. Lets take Dreadfuls for example. Failing to get a Phobie in 10 Dreadfuls will get you enough Vbucks to open a Vendy Pack. Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be back to back to back. If you get a Phobie on your 8th Dreadful while the previous 7 didn't give you one, your Vbucks don't disappear, they stay.

Before the update, you'd average 1 new Phobie every 10-13 Dreadfuls, but now the Pity System cuts that in half as you're guaranteed a new Phobie at 10. This mans the new average is one new Phobie every 5-6 Dreadfuls(not exact but the math is being worked on).

With the price of a Rare/UR now being placed at 200 bucks, the 100 dollar offers with coffee look more enticing. It also gives steady progression to get new Phobies if luck is not on your side. The Pity System benefits EVERYONE, so that's good.

Now let's address a huge problem: Coffee is still really hard to get! The average F2P gets about 12 Dreadfuls every year, so they may only use the Pity Pack once per year! They're still benefitting from it as I said with the odds before, but that is some real slow stuff.

I also have to bring up a sentiment some of us players have come to conclusion on WHY the team isn't making it "easy" to get the Rares and Ultra Rares: F2Ps aren't gonna be able to get every single Phobie. This is not a bad thing, if you could get everything for free, how's the game supposed to make money? That is not very sustainable. And very often, the F2P just want a system that gives them free Phobies, which is not good. Not good at all.

WIth all that said, the Pity System is still good for everyone. F2Ps have a light at the end of the tunnel, big spenders can spend 100 dollars on pack offers or coffee and have increased chances of getting Phobies. The Pity System exists to help those who have consistently gotten nothing from packs. Yes it may benefit spenders more, but it's not a "rich gets richer poor gets poorer" situation, everyone gets richer!

This is a good step from the team to make Phobie progression not feel like ass, cause be honest, it sucks so hard. We still have the problem of Coffee being really hard to get, and while you are getting 40 coffee daily, its not really enough. The resource caps also need to be lifted, as this punishes grinders. Why do we even have those still?

We are heading towards some good times, even if the changes we want are taking a while to come. Remember, the team is currently composed of like 6 people with only 1 programmer! Their heart is in the right place, even if some of the things they do are actually really useless(I'm looking at you Tick, whose HP got nerfed from 1300 to 1250), but still the right direction!

TL;DR Devs are listening to the community this system is good for everyone still have some problems like not enough ways to get coffee ingame without outside sources, changes are happening slowly but surely

Vendy Bucks are a good step towards the right direction, But it still isn't good.

I've done the calculations.

Assuming you don't spend a single dime

You need to play 6 matches daily to max out the weekly Coffee mug.

Assuming a player is on SOAF 1-2 and plays exactly the amount to max out each weekly Coffee reward and complete all Jackboxes + they win half of all of their matches.

You get 40 coffee (daily mission + Jackboxes) and you get 15 Coffee If you win half of the daily matches you need (5 per match).

You get 55 coffee daily (best case scenario)

Plus 143 coffee at the end of each week,

(I'm on SOAF 2 so I'm using that as a base)

It means you're getting around 528 Coffee weekly, which translates to one dreadful per month, so it takes 10 months to get ONE Vendy pack, assuming you're not getting ANYTHING from them, gets worse when you realize that even getting a common or uncommon from the pack instantly extends the waiting period one more month.

Sooooo...Brutewurst didnt get a cooldown nerf 😃

Imma be honest, the balance changes for this update sucked

Im not even upset hercubees got nerfed, that was deserved, its the fact they buffed and nerfed some of the most random shit imaginable (who tf had a problem with i-sceam for him to get nerfed by 10 damage, what difference does it make?😭)

There were just so many phobies that deserved buffs and nerfs. Im not expecting them to completely change like 90 phobies, but cmon...

Im not even gonna get started on leshy dodging a buff (also cluck norris, mistle toad, etc) I've already given up on that fucking whimsical dream

Mine is clearly Impy, he looks sick!!! (Seems like Boss didn't fire this demon and promoted him to fight along side the other phobies!) And he seems really baalnced! I like that ❤️

So I take that when you open packs you get those Vendy coins, I think the better the pack the more Vendy coins you get. ✨

Vendy packs give you one scratch card, it may seem pretty mid but it GUARANTEES YOU A NEW PHOBIE! AND IT'S A RARE OR AND ULTRA RARE!! THIS IS INSANE! NO

The pack ALSO gives you 20.000 XP and guaranteed rare and ultra rare upgrade cards!❤️❤️❤️

This is a dream come true.. 🥹
