I built a wireless tethering app because I got tired of the existing option

Hi everyone,

I'm a commercial fashion photographer, and after years of dealing with wireless tethering, I got frustrated with the same problems that keep coming up here: slow transfers, unreliable connections, and workflows that try to send every RAW file over Wi-Fi.

So I decided to build my own solution.

Instead of trying to replace a tether cable completely, I focused on what clients actually need during a shoot:

• Instant JPEG review on iPad, iPhone, or Apple Silicon Mac
• RAW files stay safely on the camera card
• Download RAW files only when needed
• Fast and reliable image review

In my setup, JPEGs usually arrive almost instantly, and even RAW files can be pulled in quickly when needed. But my main goal is not to force every RAW file over Wi-Fi — it's to make the review process fast enough that clients and teams can keep shooting without waiting.

It currently supports Nikon and Sony, and Canon support is almost ready.

I've been using it on my own commercial shoots, and it's worked well enough that I decided to release it publicly.

I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts.

If you've given up on wireless tethering before, what would it take for you to trust it on a real commercial shoot?

Anybody know this pouch?

I keep seeing it advertised on Gelatin, but they don’t sell it and can’t find it anywhere. I use the Manfrotto one and it’s so shallow, would love to find this bucket.

Capture one short cut for this?

Whenever I’m batch rename because of moving files into a new folder when the photographer moves on too fast I always feel like the step of hitting the dots and the set rename counter takes a minute faster than I’d like. I tried looking in capture one for a short cut to that but there doesn’t seem to be one. Anyone know?

CaptureOne Workflow Questions

Fellow photo assistants, digis, retouchers - I have some pain points about using using captureone, would love your help or general anecdotes on how you approach these areas. Context: I'm at the stage where I shoot and manage files myself on shoots.

  • How do you keep different looks organized? I set up different capture folders, green flag if I love, and 5 star after the shoot is done to make selects. At beginning of post, I will have 10~ photos to fine tune grade.
  • How do you manage images that need to be edited in photoshop? I add all my selects into a session collection, but sometimes I can't send directly to photoshop in a folder, so it gets unorganized here.
  • I love the match look feature, and can quickly get a different look when switching looks. Or build the grade before the shoot. But sometimes the grade is too specific and clients expect that. Do you stick to a general style, just curves, apply grades when client isn't looking?

Any other pain points about capture you can share? Love hearing any wisdom out there.

Arca Cable Plates

Looking for an Arca plate I can put a tether cable through (currently using tether tools but plan on switching down the line).

I was hoping to find something cheaper than the tether tools one. I tried a cheap $13 one but it wouldn’t lock in any of the Arca heads I had, would slide right out the side.

If I have to pay $100 that’s fine but was just seeing what is out there.

Currently needed for an R5ii with Vello battery grip/no grip. Having the anti rotation pin would be nice to have as well.

Thanks yall
