WORST OP EXPERIENCE AYALA PICKLEBALL ACADEMY EVER

grabe, i would say this was literally my worst OP experience talaga.

i looked for OPs kanina for inter-advance na pasok sa sched ko and nagkataon na ang sa Circuit Pickleball Academy ang pasok sa sched ko and inter-advance talaga lagi ko sinasalihan for good games and rally.

they had 1 court for beginner/novice (16 players)
2 courts for inter-advanced (24 players)

before paying, inisip ko na parang medyo red flag yun kasi matagal ang queuing but i gave the benefit of the doubt na since inter-advanced naman, baka mabilis lang ang game. so nag proceed pa din akolate ako dumating kasi i came from qc pa. probably 2:30pm, dinrive ko pa talaga kasi nga gusto ko ng good rally.

kadating ko, i waited for 45mins pa before my turn to play. pansin ko din na they dont screen the players kung inter-advanced ba talaga. kasi upon arriving, parang hindi naman halos ganong level. (hindi ako nagmamagaling gaiz. sadyang im hoping for more good quality rallies and competitive play lang talaga kasi yun naman yung pinunta ko)

i asked sa organizer kung 24 players ba talaga for 2 courts and they said yes, pero nung sinabi kong sobrang tagal ng queuing, dedma na sya. NEVER AGAIN

may club ako na laging sinasalihan bc they organize properly and they limit the players for number of courts and quality talaga ang game kaya ko sila binabalik balikan.

pero grabe talaga ang ayala pickleball academy. apparently even their upcoming OPs ganon pa din YIKES

Is this PB Policy fair?

📢 PB COURT REMINDER 🏓

Barangay policy: RESIDENTS FIRST + BRGY. ID required.

When open play reaches 24+ players on 3 courts and resident wait time exceeds 1 game (10–15 mins):

  • Residents: priority on open-play slots.
  • Guests: may play only while resident priority is not affected.
  • Once resident waiting exceeds 1 game, guests must yield the next open-play slot to residents.
  • Resident hosts, please inform your guests before they join so walang biglaang abala.

Please keep your Brgy. ID ready when requested by Barangay Security.

Pakiusap: Let’s follow the policy kindly and consistently so everyone knows the rules before playing.

Thank you! 🙏🏓

Pickleball Court + Cafe + what other business?

We are conveniently located near a Pickleball Court so we put up a small cafe catering the food and beverage needs of pickleball players.

We still have a small idle lot around which could be used to put up a small venture. What businesses have you seem around, in or near Pickleball courts?

Thoughts on pre-loved Kamito Alpha X Her for ₱9,000? Need advice for my first high-end paddle!

Hey guys! So I’m currently eyeing a pre-loved Kamito Alpha X Her being sold for ₱9,000. The seller mentioned they bought it last June (so around 2 months ago pa lang) and that it’s "lady-owned" with pictures provided naman.
Since this is going to be my very first mamahalin (high-end) paddle if ever, kinakabahan ako magkamali ng bili. Super worth it ba siya for that price given the age? Also, how do I check if it’s legit and not a rep/fake before I pull the trigger?

Drop your thoughts and tips naman diyan, hihihi

Thank you so much! 🙏🤍

Paddle Geometry 101: Elongated vs. Hybrid vs. Widebody (Pros, Cons & Trade-offs)

A lot of intermediate players upgrade their paddles based purely on surface material (Raw Carbon vs. Kevlar) or core thickness (14mm vs. 16mm), but completely overlook Paddle Geometry.

The shape of your paddle dictates your Twist Weight (sweet spot stability), Swing Weight (speed/power), and reach far more than most people realize.

If you’re trying to figure out which shape actually fits your playstyle, here is a quick technical breakdown of the 3 major paddle shapes on the market:

  1. Elongated (16.5" Length x 7.5" Width)

The Concept: Max allowable length for extra leverage and reach.

  • The Good:
    • Maximum reach on desperate overheads and ERNEs.
    • Longer lever arm = naturally heavier plow-through and higher pop on third-shot drives and rolling speedups.
  • The Bad:
    • Higher swing weight (often 115–125+ depending on static weight).
    • Slower reload speed during kitchen firefights.
    • Smaller, more concentrated sweet spot (lower twist weight, more twisting on off-center mishits).
  • Who it’s for: Singles players, ex-tennis players who take full swings, and aggressive baseline power players.

2. Standard / Widebody (16" Length x 8" Width)

The Concept: Max allowable width for sweet spot forgiveness and lightning-fast kitchen reaction.

  • The Good:
    • Massive sweet spot and highest twist weight (very stable on resets/blocks).
    • Lower swing weight = fastest hands at the net.
    • Unmatched forgiveness on dinking battles.
  • The Bad:
    • Shorter reach (you lose half an inch of court coverage).
    • Less natural whip/power on deep baseline passing shots.
  • Who it’s for: Control/reset players, doubles specialists who live in hand battles, and anyone coming from Table Tennis or Badminton.

3. Hybrid (16.3"–16.4" Length x 7.7"–7.8" Width)

The Concept: The modern "Goldilocks" shape that dominated 2024–2026.

  • The Good:
    • Aerodynamic tapered/flared shoulders to cut through air.
    • Gives you ~85% of an elongated paddle’s reach with ~90% of a widebody paddle’s sweet spot.
    • Balanced swing weight (typically 110–116).
  • The Bad:
    • "Jack of all trades, master of none"—won't give you extreme power like a pure 16.5" blade, nor the absolute mega-sweet-spot of an 8" widebody.
  • Who it’s for: Modern all-court tournament players who want quick hands without sacrificing baseline aggression.

Quick Rule of Thumb:

  • Struggling with pop-ups and mishits? ➡️ Go Widebody
  • Struggling to finish points or generate put-away power? ➡️ Go Elongated
  • Not sure where to start? ➡️ Start with Hybrid

TL;DR: Don't just buy a 16.5" elongated paddle because Ben Johns or your local 5.0 swings one. If your kitchen hand speed is lagging or your resets are popping up, moving to a Hybrid or Widebody shape will instantly improve your consistency.

Curious to hear from the sub: What shape are you guys currently maining, and did switching shapes noticeably change your DUPR rating or consistency?

Best paddle for my play (Kamito Alpha X Her)

Hi, I’m planning to buy a new paddle.

For my play, di ako masyado marunong mag control ng ball, also, malamya so I need support sa power. I asked Gemini and they said Kamito Alpha X Her ang best option for me though I wanna ask your thoughts esp based on your experiences since the paddle is not cheap. My original paddle is Warping Point Keystone and it’s too heavy for me. Thank you!

kawasaki aurora paddle

Hi! Has anyone here tried the Kawasaki Aurora paddle? I’m a complete beginner and just bought one, but I’m still waiting for it to be delivered.
Would love to hear your thoughts on it! Is it a good and decent paddle for someone just starting out? And is it worth it for the price?

Let me edit your raw pickleball videos for a small fee! 🥒🎥

Busy mag-OP kaya wala nang time mag-edit? Send them my way! 😂

I can cut and splice your gameplay footage to make it more seamless and easier to watch/review. I'll remove dead air, ball-picking/waiting time, and other unnecessary parts so you can focus on your actual rallies, points, and mistakes.

I'm also a pickleball player myself, so I can help pick out the best rallies and highlights from your game! :)

Rates:

  • Gameplay edit — ₱150 per gameplay (up to 20 mins raw footage, based on average gameplay durations)
  • Additional highlights reel — +₱50 per gameplay (30–60 sec, good rallies/points/kills)
  • Gameplay + highlights — ₱200 per gameplay
  • Simple live score captions — +₱100
  • Additional raw footage — +₱50 per 5 mins or portion thereof, per gameplay

One minor revision is included! For additional or major revisions, we can discuss if there's an extra fee depending on the request.

Payment & turnaround:

  • Payment via GCash/Maya
  • Turnaround time is usually 1–2 days after the footage and payment are sent, depending on the number of requests in the queue!
  • Footage can be sent via Google Drive, WeTransfer, or another file-sharing service.

A few notes:

This is a small side service I'm starting in my free time, so editing is currently focused mainly on cutting and splicing footage for a smoother gameplay review and highlights. Rates are based on the total raw footage per gameplay, regardless of the number of files submitted. If you have other editing requests, feel free to PM me and we can discuss whether they're possible and if there would be an additional fee.

If you're interested, comment below or send me a DM! 😊

Paddle Reco

Hi. I am currently using the Selkirk Amped Pro Air Invikta (bought at sale price) and been playing for a few weeks now. I am not sure if I haven’t got used to playing with it or it just does not match my play style. I cannot control using this paddle tho I appreciate its power. And I feel like the ball just goes anywhere when using this.

Planning to get a new one. Do you have any paddle recommendations that’s within 5-8k budget and would match my needs? Thanks so much

Selkirk OMNI Verification Error

Hello!

I bought Selkirk Omni sa reseller and when I scanned the NFC, eto yung lumabas.

Top part is yung activate warranty while the bottom part is yung verification error.

Possible po ba na fake yung nabili ko?

Thank you!

What are your thoughts about this?

Context:
My friend and I joined a novice tournament, beginners and advanced beginners ang participants. What the organizers did was, they paired beginners with advanced beginners for fairness. This person (screenshot) is a beginner like you could tell na newbie siya because wala pang form and fundamentals. Just there for experience I guess, nothing wrong with that. But since it’s a tournament, of course everyone was competitive.

Mid rally, the ball was rolled by my friend’s partner towards this person (unintentional of course), nagbounce sa paddle niya upwards and tinamaan yung eyeglasses niya and nabasag. It was part of the game, she was not targeted. And my friend received this message from her on Reclub a day after even though he’s not the one who “hit” her, it was his partner.

Hindi ba dapat play at your own risk, kung tinamaan ka ng bola it’s part of the game and nothing against the opponent. Unless of course if intentional. So if ikaw ‘to, what would you do?

OPs around Scout Area or nearby?

Hi! I’m moving to Scout Area by the end of the month and I wanna continue playing. (Sayang paddle lol)

Self-rating: Beginner-advanced beginner at most (self-rating).

No DUPR. Reason for playing is to be active and keep losing weight. Came from 85kgs down to around 77kgs+- after almost 1.5 months of playing. 36yo. Male. Very friendly. Hindi buraot. Professional.

Are there any OPs or clubs that welcome my level?

Happy to be pickleball buddies too! 🥒🏀

Thoughts on a “no outside drinks” + corkage fee rule at a pickleball court in Mandaluyong?

Saw this sign at a pickleball court in Mandaluyong: “No outside drinks allowed. Corkage fee applies.”

For context, they do allow you to bring your own tumbler. This is more about bringing other drinks from outside. As someone na mahilig mag order during game. 🥲

Curious lang what everyone thinks about this kind of rule. 😅
I understand if the purpose is to encourage people to buy drinks from the court’s own café/bar or to keep the area clean. But is charging a corkage fee for outside drinks reasonable for a pickleball court?

For those who play at different courts, is this a common rule? Would you be okay with it, or do you find it a bit excessive?

QUESHUN!

Hello!

Bought my first enflexy.. I appreciate the Anti-counterfeiting NFC thing.

Do I remove this before I put the grip tape? or just like The Beatles, I Let It Be and put grip tape over it?

Salamathanks!!

Happy OP!
