Long story short: six months ago, I switched from an iPhone 16 Pro to a Pixel 10. I wanted to give Android a try, and I was tired of dealing with what felt like artificial battery performance degradation with new iOS releases.

I already posted my first impressions back then. I never felt like switching back to iPhone, so I sold it. The Pixel 10 is an excellent base model. The keyboard, camera, and battery life have all been great.

Over the past six months, though, I noticed just a few things I wanted to improve:

• Storage: I bought the 128GB version, and after six months, I was already using around 80GB. The 256GB version would have been a much better fit for me.
• Display: When I compared it directly with my iPhone 16 Pro, I noticed a small downgrade in sharpness. The 60Hz refresh rate was also noticeable, and I occasionally caught some flickering in my peripheral vision when using Always-On Display. I eventually got used to it, but my eyes aren't getting any younger, and I could never quite find the sweet spot between display size and font size in the settings.
• Camera: The colors are excellent, and the camera works great for everyday photography. I just wanted a little more detail and better low-light performance.
• Performance: I noticed some performance limitations when scrolling through Amazon reviews with high-resolution photos. The images would sometimes stutter as I scrolled.

And that's pretty much it. Those were my only real complaints. Otherwise, the Pixel 10 has been an excellent phone for me.

My original plan was to try a Pixel by buying one as cheaply as possible on the used market. I paid $500 CAD for mine, and if everything worked out, I would upgrade to the Pixel 11 Pro later.

But after the RAM downgrade and price increase, I wasn't interested in spending $1,500 CAD on it.

So I decided to keep my Pixel 10 and casually monitor local marketplace listings. And then I got lucky: someone in my town listed a Pixel 10 Pro XL with 256GB for $850 CAD.

Now all the boxes are checked!

Here's what I like about the upgrade:

• Display: Much nicer to look at. Typing is more comfortable, and everything is easier to see. My eyes definitely appreciate the larger, sharper screen.
• Size: Yes, it's big, but not so big that it bothers me.
• Condition: Excellent. The phone is 11 months old, with 96% battery health and 280 charge cycles.
• RAM: 16GB. The stuttering I experienced when scrolling through high-resolution photos in the Amazon app is gone.
• Storage: 256GB. I should be set for a long time now.

So, by selling my Pixel 10 for the same $500 CAD I originally paid, this upgrade will cost me just $350 CAD. I think that's a pretty good deal!

P.S. There's one weird issue I've noticed on both phones: the screen protector starts lifting in exactly the same spot, near the power button.

The Pixel 10 had a TOCOL screen protector, while the Pixel 10 Pro XL currently has a no-name one. Based on recommendations from Reddit, I've ordered a Spigen protector. I'll see how that goes.

Other than that, these are just excellent phones. After 10 years of using iPhones, I'm really enjoying the switch to Pixel. Even with a previous-generation model, I never feel like I'm missing out. Everything runs smoothly, the battery life is great, and the camera keeps making me happy.

Hello - I upgraded from Pixel 5 to Pixel 10 PRO XL and was amazed to see a big difference in the camera quality. However, that excitement quickly vanished as soon as I started exploring the night skies with my pixel. My Pixel 5 was damn good at Astrophotography and I even clicked Milky Way Galaxy with it but this new Pixel 10 PRO XL is just blurring out everything, such as start and make them appear like a blurry white dots. The quality is so poor that I feel maybe my phone is defected. Is it normal for Pixel 10 Pro XL ?

Have a new Pixel 11 Pro XL. Anyone else having an issue with the screenshot app? When I go into the app, I get this message."MODEL DOWNLOADS PAUSED Connect to Wi-Fi to continue downloading the Al models in the background". The same message is showing up in my notification panel. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing the cache, deleting the cache in the AI Core app, and deleting the cache in Google Play Services, and I've run out of options. I am connected via Wi-Fi to the hotspot of another phone by the way. It continues to show that message. Just wondering if anyone else has found a solution.

I'm part of Pixel community since I had P8 for two years and then switched to P10pro. Already on P8 had problems with receiving and establishing calls. It just happens randomly that I can't call someone, and after the second or third attempt it works.

But what's worse is being unable to receive calls from others. When P10 was out I traded it for my old P8 hoping that issues will disappear.

In the beginning it seemed to be better but actually it's getting worse. I thought it's because of the carrier so I transferred my number to a different carrier and got new sim card. But again many people complain about being unable to call me. I live in Croatia and bought my pixels from Germany. Is it possible that their phones aren't compatible with our carriers? Should I send my phone to Google as a warranty claim? Before pixels I owned Xiaomi and never had such issues. Could it be fixed in software?

I'm looking to replace my Xiaomi Mi 11, which I've had for about 6 years, with a Google Pixel.

My priorities are great photo quality and a phone that will last for many years.

My current phone has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and I'm constantly running out of space, it has become tiresome.

It's also still running Android 11, so I'm definitely due for an upgrade 😅

I'm currently considering the Pixel 10 Pro or Pixel 11 Pro. But i am a bit short on money so anything saved is good.

Would you recommend going for the 12GB or 16GB RAM version?

And is 256GB enough for long-term use, or should I go for 512GB?

For someone planning to keep the phone for many years, which configuration would you choose and why?

Has anyone else run into a Google Maps navigation issue, where the phone routes you in the opposite direction to where you should be heading? It happened to me again today for the third time.

I'd get it, if it was trying to route me away from a traffic back up or something, but it's not. My girlfriend had the route on her iPhone at the same time, and that was showing the correct route. I cancelled the route on mine, and started it again. Everything worked okay for about 10 minutes, and then my phone lost GPS completely until I totally restarted my phone. After that, everything was working fine.

Just curious to know if anyone else has had this happen? I'm not sure if it's a hardware issue or what would cause it.

So I recently paid off my phone(over $1k) to unlock it for my deployment. Verizon says it's unlocked and taken care of but I still can't use an additional esim. Does paying it off free and clear not unlock BOTH of the numbers so I can use another esim? I've tried 6 esim companies already and when I go to install them, it says "can't switch sims". What am I missing here?
