Just got my B-Robo mecha and decided it was over time to build the Kabutak model kit. Love these dudes. So cute. I need to find an emg sub of this.
The cool thing about the mecha is you can flip it over and it turns into the model kit smaller Kabutak which is a cool gimmick
Hot Toys Vi
So this is my second Hot Toys, and I got some thoughts.
+ They look fantastic
+/- Great accessories, but some odd omissions. Jinx has an alternate expressive face and no blast effects, while Vi has blast effects and no expressive face. They both have the one thing that the other needs to level up.
- Vi's face doesn't come off. To pose her eyes you have to take the entire head off and stick your finger in there (there's an eye adjuster thing but it's easier to just use a finger). Problem is it takes quite a bit of force to pop her dome back on, which often rattles around the eyes I just got finished screwing with. I even had one of her eyes fall out. Since the face doesn't come off I had to finesse my big ass fingers in there to put it back. Jinx's face comes off, so why the hell not do it the same way for Vi?
- Articulation is not great.
- There's no reason for these to not have full silicone bodies.
- Their shoulders do this bunching thing if you raise their arms. It's worse on Vi than Jinx, I guess because she has more meat. But silicone bodies have been a thing for so long now that I don't really think there's an excuse for this.
I'd give them an 8/10. They aren't the best figures I have, but the negatives are ultimately not that big of a deal, and what they do well outweighs the downsides. Hopefully HUNTR/X resolves my quibbles with these two.
More info coming in June. It doesn't explicitly say Classified, but since the 3.75" line is a ghost town one would have to assume they're doing Lara in Classified. Which would be pretty cool. Hopefully they draw from all eras of TR and don't just do the default 2013 look.
I'm just jazzed because Lara hardly ever gets figures.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CUTE LITTLE GUY WITH THE POM POM????
Packaging: okay
Base: really simple. I like the color scheme tho!
Figure: it popped out and I wanted to have it. Given that I need to be more wise about space, I might not have gotten it. Hard to say. It’s here tho so I’m happy.
Notes: some minor “breaks”. I say that because while it was not attached to the figure, it wasn’t broken. May be that not enough glue was used during assembly. There are also places where the paint is kinda meh but have to look real closely.
Hope yall enjoy.
