On pirate ships: why do so many people think 3550 and its sister ships are the best Playmobil ahs made?

I grew up on 4290 and recently got myself the 3940 so I'm biased to this type of ship. After searching this subreddit, it seems like 3550 is considered the best.

Tbh I don't really see this, imo it only has a small cabin and I don't like the stern shape. It reminds me of a medieval trading ship.

Curious to hear someones thoughts on why they like 3550 so much.

I found a Dutch Playmobil theatre play book from 1977

I found a vintage book in Dutch in National Library of The Netherlands. It was intented to perform little theatre plays. Hence the name 'theatre book'. The title translates to 'In the Wild West'.

It contains a story and stage sets of a Wild West town and a trading post. The carton pieces fit in the backdrop, so a 3D stage set can be created. Although they did release western buildings a year before. I don't know if the figures were originally included. I didn't saw them in this copy.

The illustrations are made by Jo Hart (Johnny Hart?) and the text is written by David Godwin. It seems to be translated from English, but I haven't found the original.

If these figures represent these countries, what figures can you think of for the rest of Europe/EU?

This is a serious project I been wanting to work on for a while now, any help is welcome :)

First set for an older child? What do we need to get started?

Hi all from Australia,

I'm wondering what people would recommend to start a collection for an older child? I've been looking for a new toy system to collect, and I came across Playmobil. I vaguely recall my brother and I having some in the late 90s/early 2000s, but I never saw them or remembered them in time for my son to have them when he was a toddler, they don't seem to be as popular in Australia as they are in the US and the UK.

I think my seven-year-old boy would really enjoy playing with Playmobil, but I want to make sure I get enough to give him a good starting point. I personally love toys and collect Sylvanian Families, and he's always shown an interest in those. He is autistic and can struggle with very open-ended imaginative play, so I think having the themes would be helpful for him, rather than having to invent a whole new universe completely by himself every time. We have tried Lego sets, but he is quite overwhelmed by having to follow definitive instructions that you can't veer from, and while he likes the idea of Lego City and all the cars and stuff, having to build it first AND keep it together while playing, and resist the urge to pull it all apart is just too much at this stage. At the same time, he's often really imaginatively building things from the box of random mixed Lego that we have, so I feel like Playmobil would be a good in between.

We haven't got a huge amount of floor space, but I want to give him at least a large coffee table to spread out on, that he wouldn't have to pack away every time.

Can anyone recommend some sets for tabletop style scenes, and anything that we really need to have in order to make it actually enjoyable from the start? Ideally without spending a crazy amount right away. He's 8 in November so I want to drip feed a couple of sets in over the next few months and gauge his interest level before I go all in.

Thanks everyone!!

I ❤️ Playmobil Stickers

Does anyone have any information about the I ❤️ Playmobil stickers that are in certain Victorian collection sets. I know that some sets just don’t have them or there wasn’t a sticker made for particular sets, However on the other hand there are sets that have specific stickers made for them but not all boxes contain them and I’d love to know why. Thank you for reading! The Victorian collection is still the greatest ever!!!

They are all ©1974 are they worth anything?

I just found these figures and have no idea if they are worth anything. I also found a 5.6 cm or 2.2 inch long completely white gun with "2)9" on it. Can anyone help me?
