Posted yesterday about catching my first shiny pokemon ever, ponyta, which apparently was legit since I haven’t done the side quest for it yet. Thought that was crazy enough. Today I went back to the same first area to get more eevee and I heard a strange sparkly noise. Turned around and Shiny Starly was just chillin there. Waited for the stun throw opportunity and caught him first try. Does this happen all the time? How do I get 2 shiny Pokémon in 2 days? Is this a common thing this early in the game? I only just fought the girl with the munchlax yesterday. This is absolutely crazy. I still can’t believe it.

Started playing two days ago. Haven’t left the first area yet because I’m enjoying exploring and catching and filling the research data so much. First area as in I haven’t crossed the bridge yet. Anyway I go left from the hill where alpha Rapidash and to the right where Eevee usually shows up and there’s a bunch of ponyta standing there. When I get close it tells me the outbreak has been found.

I’m an idiot so I thought it was for one of those npc side quests that ask for something or a task to be done so I kinda didn’t know what to do. They didn’t run away when I got close so I decided to fight one and see what happens. I completely forgot outbreaks are how you find shinys. I use Dewott and insta KO the first ponyta and boom a shiny one appears! I wasn’t expecting that at all and I kinda panicked. It starts running away immediately so I chase and throw a pokeball at it. And it breaks free and runs away forever. I wanted to end it all right there. So I fight like 5 more hoping another would show up but realize I messed up and it’s gone.

To avoid this I look up how to properly catch shinys for later. Then it says when you go out to manually save so if something happens you can close the game and start again before messing up. I hadn’t saved after losing it so I close my game immediately. I don’t remember when I last saved so I expected to be pretty far back from that unfortunate moment. I start it up again and it puts me right at the outbreak. This is either good or bad. It either saved before I fought one or it saved after the last one I fought and it’s still gone forever.

So I fight the first ponyta I see, KO it and bam Shiny Ponyta appears again! Holy crap! Ok this time I’m going to lock it in to a battle so I throw out my Dewott again and hope it doesn’t run away. It uses ember on me and I throw a pokeball hoping it works. After a second it shoots up the flare and I catch it! I celebrate like a last minute winner happened for my favorite sports team and I save immediately.

I go back to the village, save, go to the pasture and see my ponyta chillin with the others. I freak out at my first shiny catch and text the boys these screenshots of what I caught. After a photoshoot with ponyta as seen above I save again just to be extra safe and continue on my pokemon journey.

Sorry for the long post this is a record of how it went down for my future self as well as a post of what happened! Thanks for reading and hopefully if you lose a shiny you can close your game and still have a chance at it like I did.

TLDR: I found an outbreak of ponyta and after the first fight a shiny instantly appeared. I threw a pokeball and lost it. Looked up how to catch shinys and it said to close the game and retry from last save if you mess up. I hadn’t saved for a while so I did that. It luckily loaded right at the outbreak so I fought one again and a shiny instantly appeared again. This time I threw my Dewott to lock it in battle. It used ember on me and I threw a pokeball and this time I caught it. Went back to the pasture in the village for the above photo session and now I’m still in disbelief. Can’t believe I caught a shiny so early in game. This game is awesome!

So I haven't played pokemon arceus in a while so I was checking on my account and found a maxed out rowlet with horrifying stats

Idk what flare to use here as it's a shalpha but I've tried so hard to catch it but ahhh the pain

I just got back into the game, still learning it again! What are the gray arrows?

I already went to 4 locations and caught and defeated some Pokémon at each one, but when I talk to Mai absolutely nothing happens. I even decided to go to a fourth one and catch and defeat those too, but it still says I still need to investigate 3. I already restarted the game and this is still happening. What can I do? Did my save file break? :(((
