What card do you have multiple copies of ?

Is this the same card?

I'm looking at buying this slab online and on the listing the seller is showing pictures of some very slight damage to bottom of the slab and 2 bottom corners.

Am I mental in thinking this isn't the same card and it could have been swapped? The damage isn't much at all and the seller is the one pointing it out, but I'm just not sure.

The first 2 darker pictures are the scan of the card from the grader, and the next 3 lighter pictures are from the seller. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Spotting fake booster bundles

Always see people talk about spotting fakes of booster bundles by looking at the seal or other things, but it’s not always that obvious.

Not sure I’ve seen it mentioned before, but there’s a much easier way to notice it.

The lettering for “Pokemon Company” on the bottom of the box should be bold, but also the “C” should be quite straight where it should curve.

Take the 3 photos, and the middle one you can see the letter “C” in ‘Pokemon Company International’ is more straight than curved. The seals look more obvious in these examples tbf, but if there’s one where the seal looks near perfect, always look out for the font on the ‘C’ and that’s the definite giveaway.

Thoughts from London Card Show, my first card show attended!

Just went to my 1st card show Saturday and thought I would share a couple of bits for anyone thinking about going to one in future, or if you're holding on to some of these items mentioned...

Raw cards - If you have near mint raw cards then 'Ungraded' (who I had seen advertised on facebook recently) were by far the best and hassle free service available. Tables were offering 70% - 80% Cash values on cards, 'Ungraded' offered 90% of market on cards worth £30 or more, was quick and hassle free and I sold about £300 worth of cards to them and got paid £270. Worth checking these guys out.

Table etiquette when trying to sell / trade - Almost all tables were clogged up by people trying to offload or trade 10's of cards at a time, even with pulse speeding this process up they should really have a max limit per transaction / interaction. Half the time after the vendor has spent time pricing everything the punter then tries to negotiate individual cards before then taking everything and clogging up another vendor and queuing punters to do the same again. Making this worse is each vendor typically only has 1 proper decision maker so you have a lot of people waiting for 1 person.

ACE slabs - These were treated like contraband, 80% of vendors didn't want them (all of mine I was looking to shift across pokemon and Lorcana were graded 10's for reference) and the 20% who entertained them only wanted to offer 70% of last solds. I'd always been under the impression that ACE slabs were liquid movers as they weren't as expensive as PSA but seems most vendors have been having trouble moving them. Really sad considering I believe ACE to be the best UK grading provider, they didn't even have a table at this show which I found surprising.

Cash is king - This won't be a surprise, vendors were more likely to accept offers with cash

Modern cards - Some cards were so readily available it was crazy. Take the first partner kanto trio promos, there were 100's of these available at this show, way too many available to keep the current price. Lots of Ascended Heroes SIRS. Very few tag teams (these are still underpriced), didn't see much 151 either.

Pokemon - This Show felt like it was 70% pokemon cards, 15% sports cards, 15% other bits and bobs!

TLDR - ACE slabs treated like crap. near mint raw cards selling consider ungraded, lots of Modern card prices are way too high, Don't try to sell / trade 10's of cards at a time. Pokemon and cash are king!

Does anyone have any recommendations on who can produce cute custom binders?

I’m not sure if this forum is the right place to post about this but I’m wondering if anyone has any recommendations as to who can do custom binders at all? Decently priced would be a bonus. I’m planning on doing an Espurr/ Meowstic binder and an Oddish binder! I would do it myself but I can barely draw stick men haha. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Are there any pokemon shops in Westminster?

Hi all! Travelling from Canada and would love to know if there might be any card shops worth checking out while in Westminster/london. Found some shops closer than Google Maps showed us while in arbroath so hoping there might be something closer than the 20+ minute drives I’m seeing from our hotel here. Thanks for any help!

Completely new to the hobby, any tips?

Hi, as title says I am extremely new to card collecting and have only opened about 2 packs total.

I originally only played the games but after getting really into them I wanna start collecting a few cards of at least my favourites and set them up nicely in a binder.

Is there any particular pack I should start with? I’ve done a bit of research and packs that had my all time favourite (Hisuian Samurott) were released back in 2022-ish 🥲 and so is out of the question unless I buy the individual cards online.

More money friendly tips would be appreciated as I am still at an age where many purchases need to be approved by a parent.

Also, has there been an upsurge in the hobby? Went everywhere I saw used to have packs but were completely sold out.

My favourites are Oshawott and its subsequent evolutions, Slowpoke and its evolutions and Psyduck and Golduck if that helps for pack recommendation.

[LeafeonGate] Vinted Pokémon Card Swap Dispute: 36 Days Later, 40 Files of Evidence Rejected in 6 Minutes

After 36 days, Vinted finally made a decision on my €300 Leafeon ex dispute and approved the buyer’s return, saying they had not received enough information to determine the card’s authenticity.

The Buyer, u/Icy-Try7846, originally posted about this dispute, but the post was later deleted along with their Reddit account : https://www.reddit.com/r/IsMyPokemonCardFake/comments/1ut0t9i/got_scammed_on_vinted/

During the dispute, the buyer also reported my Vinted account, which resulted in a 14-day suspension. On July 22, he shared my full name and postal address in our Vinted messages, together with a photo of my apartment building. He also claimed that proceedings had been formally initiated through his legal protection insurance and law enforcement authorities. I reported these messages to Vinted twice, but both reports were rejected, with Vinted stating that it did not find a violation of its rules. As of today, I have received no formal contact regarding any such proceedings.

The buyer’s claim mainly concerned the back of the card, among other alleged authenticity issues, and I provided my evidence and asked for the card to be independently assessed.

Vinted Lithuania then gave me a chance for a second authenticity review and explicitly asked me to provide photos, close-ups, videos, purchase documents and any other relevant evidence.

I sent around 40 files, including:

  • original photos of the card before shipment;
  • photos and videos taken during packaging;
  • photos of the package and shipping label;
  • purchase invoices and proof of provenance;
  • a comparison showing differences between my card and the card shown in the buyer’s photos.

I also pointed out that the buyer provided no photo or video showing the opening of the package or the card immediately after delivery.

I’m using Paris time (CEST, UTC+2) for the timestamps below.

I sent everything at 3:25 PM.

Vinted replied at 3:31 PM, saying they had reviewed the authenticity information a second time but still could not determine the card’s authenticity, and confirmed the return.

So, after specifically asking me for additional evidence for a second review, Vinted reached essentially the same conclusion about 6 minutes after I submitted the evidence.

I have now asked Vinted to confirm whether all the evidence was actually reviewed and what specific evidence they considered insufficient. I also copied VVTAT on that correspondence.

For context, this is the original post about the dispute: https://www.reddit.com/r/IsMyPokemonCardFake/s/CXb2YVJh4v

I also posted the original Vinted dispute screenshots in this German-language thread, as the Buyer was active there and I’m also fluent in German: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG_DE/s/DpvX5Iy4uO

 u/Artistic-Jellyfish70 also reviewed the evidence in a Re: LeafeonGate thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/IsMyPokemonCardFake/s/EFGGyKh3t4

I also originally posted the Leafeon pull from my ETB before this dispute: https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonTCG/s/n5IgZFeZrn

At this point, I’m waiting for the return unless Vinted reconsiders its decision before the return deadline. The next important step will be seeing what card is actually returned to me.

I’m honestly devastated by this outcome after everything I submitted and after waiting 36 days for the decision. Thank you to everyone who has followed this case and supported me so far.

I’m still waiting to see what happens with the return, and I’ll update this thread as soon as I receive the card.

Slightly Sour Experience at London Card Show

Anyone else been overcharged at London Card Show this weekend?

My purchase should’ve been £2 and at the point of purchase, I’m pretty damn sure the card machine showed £2. My phone signal was pretty terrible when I was there so it’s now just come up as £4 on my banking app 😩
I know £2 isn’t a large amount but either way it’s wrong of vendors to be doing this and it adds up a lot if they’re doing this to every buyer!

I used to love going to card shows but a similar thing happened to me at the last one I went too and now that it’s happened again it’s left me with a slightly sour experience

Want to start collecting but unsure how

As the title says, I want to start collecting but it’s very overwhelming right now. There are so many different booster packs not sure where to start. I’ve opened a few Pitch Black and Prismatic Evolutions booster packs and started a binder but with no real goal to go for.

Am I too late to start collecting or should I set myself a goal and stick with it?

Favourite Pokemon are Umbreon, Ampharos, Altaria, Greninja and Kingdra so would love some of those cards, any help is welcome 😊
