Anyone else having these Polestar 4 quirks/issues?

Hi everyone,

I’ve had my Polestar 4 for around 2 months now and overall I really like the car, but there are two things that are starting to get on my nerves a bit, and I wanted to check if other owners have the same experience or if I’m missing a setting somewhere.

  1. Radio/media auto play & startup volume Every time I start the car, the radio/media is paused and I have to manually press the play button on the screen. Is there a way to make it automatically resume playback when starting the car? Also, when I press play, the volume is often way too high and I need to quickly lower it because it’s almost deafening. Is there a way to set a default startup volume or prevent this?
  2. Profile loading issue (Phone Key / Digital Key) I use the phone key/key card on my phone and it works fine for unlocking and driving. However, recently the car has been loading the Guest profile much more frequently instead of my personal profile. It’s roughly 50/50 now — sometimes it loads my profile correctly, sometimes it loads Guest. Has anyone else experienced this? Any fix or workaround?

Would appreciate hearing if this is normal behavior, a software bug, or if there are settings I should check.

Thanks!

creaks and rattles

Hi everyone!

Now that the weather is getting warmer, my interior started to rattle and creak literally from every place inside - rattles from front doors when driving at 40-60km/h, today I noticed rattle behind the steering wheel, random creaks from behind, from roof area.. I wrote to Nardobil in Trondheim a week ago and got ignored. Am I the only one with these issues? If not, how do you deal with them?

MY25 23000km on 20inch wheels. Btw summer tires from Pirelli are much more noisy than winter tires from Hankook. Also pirelli have a high pitched noise on 40km/h and 95+km/h. I noticed the same noise on VW id7 and bmw i4 on the same pirelli tires when had a test drive.

P4 Trunk Button Question

Thought I would (potentially) embarrass myself here before (potentially) embarrassing myself at the dealership.

My trunk button seems to have stopped working. The trunk still opens with the kick gesture, but the button no longer opens the trunk.

I checked the manual, and it doesn’t mention being able to disable that in software, but I thought I’d check with other owners to see if there’s maybe a setting I accidentally changed (or the car decided to change on its own).

TIA!

trip statistics app and charging performance

Hi!

is someone aware of some app available in Google play that could deliver meaningful trip stats? journey log is quite poor... I saw that P3 has "road and trip" that seams to deliver much more relevant data, but unfortunately is not available for the P4. Standard stats are very poor in P4 and I was wondering if there is any alternative available.

Additionally, I would like to ask if someone is measuring the charging performance: I'm measuring the kWh loaded into my P4 trough a Shelly device from a schuko plug (charging at 10a). figures are consistent between Shelly and polestar app, but e.g the car takes more than one hour to charge 2kwh while this is the charging speed. yesterday I charged 24kwh to get 20% at this speed... wasn't supposed to get 24% (considering de.100kwh baterry)?

Thank you in advance for your feedback ;)

Temperature Sync

Often times I am driving alone, and i like to have the temp control showing as one number for the whole car (Sync) - sometimes I start the car and it's in sync other times i get the seperate sides - what is causing this difference - I would just like it left to what it was when I got out of the car

My BMW dealt with this brilliantly, it had a physical sync button which would automatically undo if the passenger touched their dial

Google Voice issues

So I've just started to have a bit of an odd issue. The voice commands on Google have gone a bit weird. I used to be able to say "navigate to Costco" and it would ask me which Costco (there are 2 near me). Now when I ask it says it doesn't recognise the command. Not only Costco, this appears to be any supermarket or shop as well. The navigation works fine to a place and works fine when I type it in it just says not recognised when I use the voice feature. I've tried resetting the infotainment and cleared Google cache but joy.... Anyone else have this issue?

Current Polestar 4 will be renamed to Polestar 4 Coupé

I recently received an email from Polestar informing me that my car’s name will be changed to the Polestar 4 Coupe. I currently have a Polestar 4 on order, and they sent this message in advance to clarify that it’s only a name change, not a different vehicle. To me, this suggests that the Polestar 4 SUV will be arriving soon, or at least announced in the near future.

Here's the email I received from Polestar

Translation of the email to English:

Polestar 4 Name Update

Hello Posseidox,

We are contacting you with an update regarding the naming of the Polestar 4. You will soon start seeing references to the “Polestar 4 coupé.”

To clarify: this is a new name, not a new car.

Your vehicle remains a Polestar 4, with the same specifications, design, and estimated delivery time you originally signed up for. Nothing is changing, apart from the possible addition of that extra word you may occasionally come across.

If you have any questions or need support, we are always here to help.

How has the OTA journey been for you so far?

Hi everyone!
One of the best things about the Polestar 4 is seeing it evolve through software updates. I’m curious to hear from those who have been driving theirs for a while:
How do you feel the car has matured since your first drive?
Any favorite "quality of life" fixes or performance improvements from recent OTAs?
I'd love to hear your long-term impressions. Safe driving to all!

Software

Seems to me we are due another update for the 4. There have been numerous rumours about a big one to resolve some of the remaining niggles.

Does anyone know anything or have heard anything?

Abit of an odd one…

I recently had my bumper and the Lower rear panel removed for a repair after a motorbike ran into the back of me. The car looks great outside now!

But a piece of trim inside is badly scratched! According to the repair centre, they didn’t go into the boot as the panels are all removed from the outside? Can anyone confirm this? Or would they have removed this piece of trim to access some internal fasteners? Thanks 🙏
