Does everyone eventually give up on boat lifts?

I live on a very large lake. Which turns from calm to 3’ waves pretty quick. And ends up be a pain to get on lift. Very rocky shore so can’t beach it.

Do those plastic docks actually work ? Or am I just better off buying a scissor trailer and haul in and out every time.

Anyone have any suggestions willing to hear you out.

Starter was stuck on for close to an hour...

So went out on our boat today like normal. However apparently, the ignition was stuck in the start position for quite a while. I noticed the motor making some odd noises when I put it in neutral but figured I'd look at it tomorrow.

Fast forward to getting to my destination. I go to turn the key off and feel the ignition click once, realizing that the boat had been in the run position this entire time. I go to turn to boat back on and the starter engages but doesnt turn.

Im assuming I fried the starter but want to hear your opinions before I really start digging into it.

Edit: it's a 2018 bennington 22 ft sxpb with a yamaha 115

Radio antenna mast

Used pontoon has an antenna base but no mast. Were these removable... replaceable?

Low Drag Tube?

Does anyone make a lower drag tube for pontoons? I have a 24 ft with a 115hp Yamaha. I know some may say it's a be a bit underpowered but is perfect for us for cruising even with s full boat. The problem comes with tubing and drag. I know it's expected to slow. Does someone make a lower drag tube that would be easier of the motor? We have a Mable Super

Airhead 3 rider.

Anyone seen / own one of these gems ?

Just got this in a property acquisition.
15ft pontoons with a 10ft deck.

15 hp mariner that has been outfitted with a remote outfit.

Might make a project out of it - seems to be a perfect small fishing boat .

Mercury 150 R RPM issue

I have a 2026 Suncatcher Fusion 324 RC. (Tri toon) Originally I had a 115 Yamaha on the back but wanted more from it, so I upgraded to a 150 R Mercury.
With the 115 my boat max speed was 30mph with perfect conditions.
Now with the 150R, it’s only at 35mph. However, I don’t think it’s reaching full potential. No one seems to be able to figure this out so I figured Reddit might be my best bet.

My main problem is the engine will only go to 5k rpms at full throttle and trimmed correctly. It’s strange, when I am at low mph, it will easily go over 6k rpms , but once I hit 10/15ish mph it won’t go over 5k rpms.

The prop is 14.6 x 15 P

I think the prop might need to be a 3 blade to achieve what I want. I was told by the dealership I got the engine on from that my max speed should be 45 mph.

Trolling motor for pontoon

Is this motor well for a for a sylvan mirage 820 fish and cruise? And does it come of easily for trailering? Will it fit in a 35 inch area?

Alarm going off at full throttle

I can go 90% throttle no problem for hours but anytime I go full throttle i get the alarm at a constant beep. Can someone plz tell me what to check to diagnose? I have just replaced impeller changed lower unit oil and spark plugs. Don’t know if that helps but I think it’s safe to say the stream if good for sure.

Disappointed with the engine noise.

Im disappointed in the engine noise level.

I find that I have to walk forward yet holding the wheel in one hand behind in order to have a conversation under way on our boat. Sitting in the captains seat and all I can hear is the splash and engine even at 1700 rpm’s.

Bought new 2023 Harris 25 Classic Tri toon. 150 HP Mercury. Kept in new condition. Easily handle family outings with 18 persons. I’m hoping I will one day forget the high cost of this boat. So far I’m still reeling at what I spent. 😳

Ok sure it’s way nicer and larger than our previous 2013 23’ Bennington with a 115 HP. Carpeted floors are the worst.

I don’t want to be cranky about this but I find the noise and isolation annoying. My hand gestures are misinterpreted as overly aggressive. 🤔

If I upgrade the boat what are the quieter options? Electric outboards or other configuration? Please don’t say add a sail. lol

Pontoon Value Source

What’s a good source to determine current retail value of a pontoon? Thinking we may upgrade ours. It’s been a fantastic boat and we may just keep it. I haven’t decided yet. I’m curious if there is a good source you guys use to determine current value. For reference it’s a 2019 Bennington SX21 saltwater fishing edition with a Yamaha 115. It has 250 hours on it. Just went through regular service, new steering cables, new cover, etc. If any of that helps.

150 hp on a 24 foot Sweetwater

We are shopping for our first ever pontoon and looking at a 2016 Sweetwater. It has 13 person capacity with a 150 hp Mercury. If we are fully loaded and cruising, will it still be enough to cruise at a decent speed (like 12 mph) or will it drag it down further than that?

Vibration slight grind between gear

2015 Crest pontoon with 115 Mercury 4 stroke. When shifting from neutral to forward or reverse there is some resistance and you can feel some vibration maybe a grind if you try to ease the shift. Is this normal or do I need to be more deliberate with the shift and not try to baby it?

I’m anew to boating and the videos I have been watching the shifts seem to more of smooth click in and out of gear.

Sea trial on used pontoons

So I have been hunting for used pontoons and I have asked every one if they do a sea trial. Every single one in Wisconsin has said no so far. Is this typical or will asking again when in more serious negotiations yield different results?
