Seeking extrovert cat lady grandma type mentality friends

Edit: (This has turned into trauma bonding for our pets, please feel free to tell your stories/post pictures 🤣)

That intro threw me off also but it's what I'm seeking.

41-M looking to understand life after my fiance chose the friend novel. Love all people, all personalities, hoping to make new friends, enjoy live music, photography, share recently read books, cooking, crafts, walks, mildly tame hikes, would love to learn dnd finally!

I'm best described as a an old cat lady but oddly enjoy dancing until 2am sober. I'm on a huge Sade, Goldie Boutilier, Wolf Alice, Abby Sage (yes I'm in my feels era) music kick, so concerts would be lovely. Have wanted to rejoin a book club, always wanted to trying a running club, its cliche, but one day! My mom taught me how to crochet as a young teen, thats always been something I'd enjoy taking up again. Also love to propagate plants, watch tragically bad 80s rom coms, anything Studio Ghibli, or anything with Prue (iykyk)

That's basically me, quirky, humor is dry like cooks champagne, just want to help everyone see their best self and grow a community of friends who support and empower each other's dreams.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend,

Anybody want to join? 🇺🇸

Does anybody else have a large american flag and a thong and want to go walk or jog around downtown with me for a little bit in about an hour?

If you don't have a flag to bring, that's ok. Everyone is invited; we can make it a party!

Does anybody have a portable speaker?

I feel that this will be a good way to test the status of our freedom of speech in America:

May the cheeks be plentiful. May men show their cheeks, too, not just the women.

May we sexualize each other as equals; or may we not sexualize each other at all.

Ὑμῖν γὰρ λέγω·

New here (23F), looking for friends

Hi potential friends!!

I'm Christine, early 20sF, she/her, and I'm in the NW area. I've been here a couple of months already, but I'm too shy to attend large group meetups so I haven't made any friends aside from work. I would love to have a small group of friends tho. I moved here from Hawaii since it would make it easier for me to go traveling from here. I also love the mountains and forests more than the ocean lol.

I'm looking for friends to hang out with, to visit random places, to go hiking, to try out food/restaurants, to go thrifting with, and more. I basically want to try new experiences together. I'm only available weekends tho.

I'm into reading, anime, games (Genshin, TWST), and EDM. Mostly reading game lore/theories, and fanfics nowadays tho. I would love to go dancing with someone, but I don't drink so I can be DD if need be. Other than that, I'm currently watching Apothecary Diaries and Sword Art Online Abridged, badically attempting to go through my to-watch list.

Please DM me if you're interested, I would love to be your friend!!

27F - don’t want to always do things solo!

The name’s Vivian (she/her)

Living in NE, formerly SE

I love staying active. Whether it be swimming, running, biking, climbing, lagree, camping, backpacking, hiking, going to the gym to lift, yoga. I love raves/edm, but also a wide variety of music. Noah Kahan, Goth Babe, Still Woozy, 70s, etc. I’m not great but pottery is also awesome:)

Looking for friends to stay active with or even craft with. I love thrifting, coffee shops, and eating local. Ideally I’d love to climb with the girls since I have not done it enough out here & would enjoy some company (I’m not super great). It’s my first PNW summer so tubing along the Sandy River has been on my list too! I don’t drink so bars and such aren’t my scene.

Been watching The Bear & FIFA!!

I moved to Portland because I’m a travel healthcare worker. Although I won’t be here through the fall, I would love to make meaningful relationships & explore more of Oregon in good company:)

Are you interested in helping with a short film here in Portland?

What's good, all you lovely people? I am /u/snoogazi, but please don't call me that. That's my father's name. You can call me Charles. I'm reaching out yet again to see if there is anyone on here who wants to help out with the 48 Hour Film Project, coming up from July 24th to the 26th, here in good ole Portland, Oregon (or as I like to call it, "America's Least Favorite City". Folks from the midwest LOVE that joke).

It's very simple. On Friday the 24th, all the teams meet up at the Jupiter Hotel and are given a random genre, along with a prop, character, and line of dialogue. From that point, we have 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a 4 to 7 minute movie.

I've done this twice before (most recently in April) and it's a lot of fun. We are looking for actors/actresses/actorx and crew members, along with places (hopefully in the metro area) that would make good filming locations. If this goes well, we make a fun movie and become lifelong friends.

Are you interested? My DM's are open.

Introvert looking to get out of my shell

Im looking to make some friends that will help get me out of my introvert ways. Iv lived in the general Portland area for a while now but have failed to go out and make a friends group. I enjoy playing, watching, or talking about basketball and a little football. I play at 24hr fitness and in the City Rec League, would be cool to find someone who would play. I would be interested in checking out local events even just to experience them. I have a dog and would love to find more people to go on walks or dog parks. I enjoy being out in nature, mt hood or coast trips. I would like to find people who enjoy rap/R&B that would be interesting in attending concerts.

I really enjoy scary movies and would like to find people to go see the new Evil Dead movie coming out on the 10th of July.

I’m 34m that’s biracial. I’m open to friends of all identities.

Random things I would be interested in trying:

Comedy shows

Indoor rock climbing/boulding

Beginner run groups

Kickball league

Art or cooking classes

Vegan Group

Hey y'all! there is some interest in forming a vegan friend group. User u/elvengemini (28(they/she)) specifically is looking to form a group of vegan friends that have a mix of going out and casual activities with people around their age. Things from grabbing drinks and painting to cooking together and having a movie night to a picnic in the park, nothing too rigid but hopefully just people who are interested in connecting without having to put being vegan off to the side. People interested in learning about and trying out veganism also welcome!

Reach out to u/elvengemini if interested!

Bearing my soul! Hello <3

Hey, my name is Jose but I go by Joe. I’m native Mexican “Latino” from the Mixtecan people. I grew up here in Portland, I’m 31.

Currently? I’ve been homeless for about 3 years: and it’s been incredibly easy.. how?! Why? What?! Well, I became homeless due to some very bad house mates and gang violence, in shared housing.. and my savings died, I lost my jobs, PWB was too much… it’s been easy, because I practiced the “old ways” of Native American resistance/ magic lore, since childhood <3 the culture I am from loved me, even into “death.” And I do pretty well! It’s just my situation, it’s not my life. Also, my mental health is superb. Grandma raised a strong child, and I’m now a man in the eyes of my people. I have enough to shower, wash, cook, etc. I practiced for nearly 20 years, before this happened.

Besides that! I absolutely love reading for pleasure, I spend 99% of my time outdoors: I’m incredibly stealthy and deadly, yet all I wanna do, is read a book with you <3

My main mode of transportation is a bike: I do very well by packing light and also “BikePacking.”

I’d love to meet more “adventure” friends who would want to go bike or hike, or just go read and craft at parks. I’m a massive introvert and I’m quite small, so I’m not much of a party animal or drinker. I only smoke 420 and already quit tobacco.

Let’s see, other hobbies I had… I want to play more guitar, I play ukulele and ocarina. I’m fairly good at fine arts, I do NOT play video games and I can’t really do that. I’d be down to join board games :)

As for jobs, I own a small business that I can work at my own schedule: SO I CANNOT MAKE FRIENDS AT WORK, which is very unfortunate.

Just moved back to Portland after a 6 year Seattle hiatus

Hi all, I just moved back to Portland from Seattle after divorcing my violent wife, found a very nice bungalow in the Pearl, and looking for new social circle. I’m a very zen guy, music maker (released an album last year, workin on my next), I play vidya games, I am learning how to sow so I can alter clothes for my tall ass, and I am looking for a gym buddy too. (I push myself harder when I am with someone.)
I’m good at pub quizzes, shuffleboard, bocce ball, and basketball, and love political discourse and debate.

Using my throwaway, but by all means hit me up! If I can join the band!

Looking for friends!

Hiya! I’m Annie (39F). I’m a pretty neato person who’d love to meet more fellow neato people.
I’m into board games, video games, crafting, and I’m a brand-new gym bro… gym bra? I’ve also gotten really into cooking and baking.
I’m looking for friends to adventure with, grab coffee, wander bookstores or thrift stores, play games, or simply chat about whatever life decides to throw at us that week.
I’m the kind of person who loves learning about other people. Tell me about your weird hobby, your latest obsession, your favorite rabbit hole, or the thing you could talk about for hours. I genuinely enjoy listening to people get excited about what they love.

Gym buddies

Hey all!

32 M here, I’ve been working out for about a decade now. Weightlifting mostly. I’m looking for people to work out with, and go from there. We can work out at your gym of choice. Or I can get you a guest pass to mine (I workout at Lifetime currently).

Obviously looking to get to know you and hopefully develop a friendship as well.

All levels of experience are welcome, it’s both motivating to teach and learn from others, for me. First day at the gym ever? No problem, we’ll take it slow. Been hitting iron for 30 years and eat nails for breakfast? No problem, show me your ways!

My interests involve music, flying (helicopters), reading, video games, hiking, dogs, food and I work in renewable energy for a career.

I’m open to all ages and genders.

Any girlies looking for a new friend? 😁

Hey!! I made a New Year's resolution in January to "become more interesting" and moved here to the Portland area... but admittedly I haven't done anything too interesting since moving. 😅 I think a big part of this nebulous dream requires me to actually leave my apartment, which is a lot easier to do with friends-- so here I am!

A little about me:

I'm 28F, moved to the PNW (Seattle) from Texas in 2018, and currently work a remote IT job. Moved here to the Portland area in January!

I love gaming (videogames mostly but also tabletop), film, anime, crafting, and am working on being more active; I recently started taking pole & pilates classes and would love to have a buddy to join me!

Movies/Shows: I love horror and psychological thrillers (Rec, Zodiac, The Wailing, Creep, Funny Games are some faves), cat-and-mouse thrillers like High & Low or Seven. As far as shows go, I think I quote I Think You Should Leave constantly, and love Tim Robinson's other show The Chair Company. Some other faves include Three Body Problem, Widow's Bay, Chernobyl, Mindhunter, Slow Horses... I'm not really into reality TV but maybe it'd be more fun with friends (and wine)! 😝

Overall I'm really just kind of an awkward, easy-going gal trying to get out of my apartment more. I'm more familiar with the NE area but I'm down to meet up anywhere-- I'm still figuring out Portland so I'm happy to explore all of it!

What I'm looking for:

I'm dying to expand my social network and make more friends, and ultimately want a girl squad! I've romanticized the idea of being in a 3-5 person group chat for spilling tea and memes, organizing cute dinner parties or movie nights, trying new restaurants, sampling new hobbies, hiking-- whatever comes up! I'm more of a small intentional hang person than a big group energy person, but I'm flexible and love to try new things!

If any of this sounds like you and you've also been meaning to meet people, drop a comment or DM me. Let's make it happen!

35F Moving to the Area Next Month!

Hey there! 👋

I'm moving to the PDX Metro Area from the Bay Area the second week of July, and am looking to meet new friends. I'm vegan, very Neurodivergent, and am pretty friendly but can also be a little awkward and/or snarky.

I like checking out different bars and restaurants, going to festivals, drag and camp, unique movie theatres, and museums. I'm not judgy if you're not vegan, but I am only looking for friends with leftist views. Meeting up at a bar or brewery would probably be my preference, but I'm open to group outings as well.

Very big into older Pokemon games/ROM hacks, Animal Crossing, The Sims 3, and Paralives. Some of my favorite TV shows are Hacks, Broad City, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, Mad Men, SATC, and Common Side Effects. I also really love pop culture and media analysis, especially from a feminist perspective.

My DMs are off so please respond here and I'll reach out. Best wishes to everyone! ❤️

(20s F) I'm in Vancouver (I hope that's ok), looking for hiking friends or a group!

I have Thursdays and Fridays off usually, and evenings. Would love to have friends to hike with! Intermediate to somewhat difficult hikes at most, nothing dangerous. Endurance is not an issue though. Thanks for reading!
