32F Looking to make friends!

A bit about myself:

32 African American Female.

Love basketball! Typically play once a week, but am out for a bit due to a current surgery. Have a pup and a couple of cats. Would be nice to have pup play dates. The coast is one of my favorite places to go. I like getting out into nature, being around water, and going on Hikes, especially to waterfalls! Pretty easy going and chill. 420 friendly, and enjoy going out for a drink every once in a while . Music, coffee, horror films, board games, cooking, good food, camping, and chill gathering’s are a few other things I enjoy.

Would like to meet people with similar interests!

I suffer from several chronic illnesses, so getting out and about can be tough sometimes. Ideally would like to be able to video chat during times I’m housebound.

Looking to meet new people

47f, Ive lived out by Mall 205 for many years, and am tired of being a hermit with my two cats and husband and hoping to meet new people. 🙂 I'm pretty chill....Board game groups, knitting circles, other arts and crafts? Maybe even just a lunch time coffee chat?

Are you a childfree Portlander? Come join my new meetup group!

Hi everyone! I recently started a new childfree meetup group for the Portland, Oregon area and would love to help build a childfree community here!

If you’re in the Portland area and interested in meeting other like-minded people, I’d love for you to join us. Our very first mixer is happening on May 29th, and I’m excited to meet everyone!

Disclaimer: This is not meant as an attack on parents in any way. Parents already have many supportive communities and spaces available to them. There are over 10 meetup groups in the Portland area alone! My goal is simply to create a welcoming community for people who have chosen not to have children, for whatever reason that may be.

27 y/o trans guy here!

hey everyone! i've decided to turn to reddit to try and meet some new people since i'm pretty shy and struggle to put myself out there sometimes. i'm glad this subreddit exists and there's other people looking for the same thing!

basically, it's been hard to find other guys who i have a lot in common with, and i tend to feel more comfortable approaching women but i also don't want to come off as creepy lol. i'm happily in a long term relationship with my amazing girlfriend! but i'm super open to making friendships with anyone regardless of age/gender. :)

as for me, i'm an artist and i'm currently working towards my tattoo license. i love making all types of art though! i also love going in nature and going on hikes, but only really low effort ones because i have mobility issues. i'm really into birding and foraging and that's usually a big factor in my outdoor adventures. i also have a 1 year old doggie who loves going in nature with me and i'd love to do some doggie playdates! (he loves people too 😊) i'm a huge fan of low key activities like going to coffee shops, drawing, going thrifting, walking in a nice neighborhood, getting a drink somewhere chill, etc.

i'm also autistic and have the cptsd/anxiety combo if you find that #relatable, and i've been in therapy for years and i've put a lot of effort into my mental health. i'd really like to meet people who are also very vested in themselves! and of course, i lean very strongly left.

thanks for reading all this if you did! send me a dm if you'd like, or i can send you my instagram if you're also active on there like i am.

57 year old science nerd in NE

57 year old software engineer looking for more people to talk to and go for coffee with. Hoping to overshare and exchange lots of memes. I am a lot and not for everyone. My ideal candidate would be a neurodivergent leftist female cryptid with an advanced degree in a hard science. Don't care what science, but I am a very science heavy person.

Coffee & desserts, rollerblading and picnics? 35 in NoPo

North Portland Queer fella here looking for new connections (I drive so no specific neighborhood pref)

I have been off of pretty much all social media (except reddit) for over a year & though I make a lot of lovely connections through my barista job, sometimes it can be awkward navigating the customer turned friend dynamic & i am not a huge bar fan (not sober, just not that into the noisy / low lit environments)

I moved here from Utah in 2018 & mainly met friends through the queer bar & performance scene but have distanced myself from that world for a quieter life.

Things I enjoy :

Love pastries, coffee, tea, matcha, boba & all sorts of other culinary adventures.

Been rollerblading for years.

I've got a cute dog named Kipper who loves meeting new dog friends and people friends too.

Theater, movies, live music, philosophy, poetry, arts and crafts & the occasional hike.

I do not care how you identify on the gender or sexuality spectrum, I just care that you're not a jerk 😃

27 year old female!

Hi Portland people, my name is Abby and I just turned 27 today 🎉 I moved to Portland about 5 years ago and somehow fully immersed myself in work and accidentally forgot to make actual friends along the way lol. So I figured I’d stop being awkward and make a Reddit post instead.

I’m super chatty, pretty easygoing, and honestly love simple little things. I’m really into ceramics, sewing, coffee shops, cocktails, thrifting, cozy hobbies, and wandering around Portland.

Would love to meet people around my age (23-35)

who like grabbing coffee, trying cute bars, taking random classes, wandering bookstores, or honestly just hanging out and talking about life. Adult friendships feel weirdly similar to dating apps now, so here I am shooting my shot on Reddit 😭

If anyone else is looking for friends or knows good places/events for meeting people in Portland, let me know!

34M Just a silly dude in Vancouver looking for people to socialize with

I'm a social introvert currently looking for just friends. I'm ok with just online / gaming friends. But what I've pretty much struggle with for the most part is making friends irl or just irl validation. I live in Vancouver but delivered for Amazon in Portland for 5 so I know parts of Portland kind of well. Otherwise I've lived in the Hazel Dell neighborhood of Vancouver since 1996, when I was 5. Lived in Washington my whole life.

Current hobbies:

Videogames - Mainly Helldivers 2 at the moment. Otherwise PC, Xbox One, Switch 1

Music: I mainly listen to metal and synthwave because they're my "safe space". Slowly branching out to anything 80s or 90s. Along with rock and metal bands from Asia. Also going to concerts.

Cooking: I enjoy experimenting. Like a real problem I have with eating out is the food being not seasoned at all or just being under seasoned in general. #SorryNotSorry but I'm adding at least 1/4 of a stick of butter to spaghetti sauce, extra salt, Italian seasoning and a small hint of something spicy to give it character. Also if I'm not working I may or may not spend like 6 hours baking deserts the night before a holiday. Also do the kids still say sorry not sorry? On the inside I'm like 60 years old but my knees are like 85.

Hanging out with my dog

Going for walks

Hobbies I want to get back into:

Hiking

Playing guitar, bass and ukulele

Recording guitar

Mixing and mastering music

Possibly card games, never played as an adult but collected Pokemon for a bit when the 151 set came out

Maybe learn to sing

Current goals at the moment: get real estate license (my main focus right now), get back into playing guitar - also get good enough to play The Hellion / Electric Eye by Judas Priest, learn some basic Dutch, start a youtube channel / content creator gig - videogames possibly Vtuber or nerdy guitar music stuff

Apologies if I come off as defensive at first. Recently found this section of reddit. Was mainly making post like this in... the other one we don't need to talk about. Also recently single so I might try to avoid some topics that are somehow associated with her. But don't worry I'm transparent. So you don't have to play the lottery trying to tip toe around topics.

26yo AuDHD trans woman looking for queer gaming/video friends

Hey all, technically I live in Beaverton but I hope that's close enough, especially as I'm looking mostly for people to hang out with online, mostly over discord or in games.

I don't have many friends and the few I do either work opposite schedules or aren't able to join me in games often. I work a swing shift that keeps me up pretty late, and I'm usually home by 11:30pm, staying up until around 4:00am most nights. I'm quite the fan of games considered "friendslop" which is a hard place to be in when you don't have many friends, lmao. So I'll list out some things I'm particularly into below.

Games - Friendslop: Peak and Super Battle Golf are currently at the top of my list for these ATM, but I also really want to look into others like Gamble With Your Friends, which looks incredible.

Other Games: I've been playing less Deadlock but still like it a lot, willing to add people on steam to invite them to the closed playtest. Been really into Resident Evil currently, inspired by the incredible RE:Requiem I've played through it, 2 Remake, 3 Remake, and am now playing through the 2014 RE 1 enhanced edition, hoping for an announcement of the proper modern style remake coming soon. I also just heavily modded Skyrim (again).

Shows: Big Big Big fan of The Owl House, Avatar + Korra, The Legend of Kipo, various other shows in the same general feel. Catching up on shows I missed as a teenager cause I was busy doing broody stuff.

"Content": the streamer that I watch the most of is by far NorthernLion. He's been a mainstay since about 12 and I don't see that changing any time soon. I'm also a big fan of PayMoneyWubby, loving his gaming arc recently but I got into him via his reaction stuff. There's about 200 other content creators I subscribe to but these are the two I enjoy watching the most, by far. I've also been put onto Dropout recently and have been surprised by the amount of their series I find enjoyable. Game Changer is incredible, as well as a few of its spinoff shows.

I'd love to be able to share any of the above content that might interest you over discord, and if you enjoy any of it already than thats all the better.

I recognize this is a long post but I'm really trying to get my feelers out here as I've been lonely for a while and it's only gotten worse after moving into a studio on my own and losing some people I thought were good friends. I'd love to get some conversations and genuine friendships going with people who enjoy the same content I do, and share content we don't already share an interest for

Anyone know if there's any active Recovering Couple's Anonymous (RCA) meetings in or near Portland?

Just learned about this 12-step organization for couples who are trying to improve their relationship with their spouse (and being sober, but that's not the focus) and it sounds like it could be a really great resource for my husband and I, but I'm not able to find any information on any nearby meetings. Anyone happen to know of any? Also welcoming any kind of marriage counseling and/or sobriety with a spouse resources you might have. Thank you!

Hey y'all! there is some interest in forming a vegan friend group. User u/elvengemini (28(they/she)) specifically is looking to form a group of vegan friends that have a mix of going out and casual activities with people around their age. Things from grabbing drinks and painting to cooking together and having a movie night to a picnic in the park, nothing too rigid but hopefully just people who are interested in connecting without having to put being vegan off to the side. People interested in learning about and trying out veganism also welcome!

Reach out to u/elvengemini if interested!
