Omeda hero direction

Why is every character in this game come with CC and ridiculous auto damage? Ikra is able to just pick me up melt me before i touch the ground. That bubble comes back every 3-5 seconds late game and its A JOKE. ALL OF HIS ABILITY CUES LOOK THE SAME!! How do i know whats a damage ability and whats CC?

WHY ARE ALL THESE HEROS ABLE TO HARD STUN!!??

Things I dislike about this game as a moba and platform brawler player

So LOL is my main moba and for what it's worth I am max rank in that game so ik my way around a moba.

My friend plays paragon however and since it's also a moba I was actually exited to try it. I though that it being 3d 3rd person would actually make the mechanics more fun. I'm also big into brawlhalla so I love the mechanical aspect of fighters too.

My hope was that predecessor would be like a hybrid that combines the high level strategic thinking of a moba with the mechanics of a 3rd person fighter.

However in reality the mechanics of this game are not fun for a few key reasons and they also undermine what I love about mobas.

So first let me explain what makes fighters like brawlhalla fun.

In fighters abilities and basic attacks all require your character to commit to a certain amount of active frames. Big powerful moves like heavy attacks do alot of damage or have big hit boxes or knockups but they also have alot of active frames. During this time your character is locked into the attack animation so if you miss its easy for the enemy to move in and punish you.

Smaller moves like basic attacks will also have active frames that lock your characters movement in place it will just be alot shorter and harder to punish.

The fun here is the dance this dynamic creates. Each player is waiting for the other to overcommit to a big move that they can then punish.

Each character has there own fun combos they can use to chain abilities and punish their opponents as well. For example a character might have a move that's hard to land and has alot of active frames making it very punishable but it also chains into alot of your highest damage combos.

These two aspects are what creates depth in a fighting game and makes its fun and rewarding to play.

Predecessor however has barely any of that.

Most abilities in this game and basic attacks don't even affect your characters movement at all. Sure maybe they slow you a little like basic attacks do but it's hardly comparable to being physically stopped in place.

It basically makes it so that there is no cost to casting an ability outside of it going on cooldown. Which sure from a moba perspective isn't terrible but from a fighting game perspective its awful.

So many fights just devolve into these goofy encounters where players are just jumping around trying to land more basic attacks than their opponents.

That's another thing about this game that makes it less fun. Time to kill is so high that even on assassins you dump ur whole kit on a squishy and it's still not enough to kill them. U need to sit there and basic attack them for five seconds as well.

And I average 600 gpm in this game just due to my better macro and efficiency so it's not a gold diff issue. In fact it's probably even worse for the average player that isn't getting high gpm.

Abilities feel underpowered and it gives basic attacks more impact than they should. It's why basic attack builds are so rampant in this game. Heck even ap Champs run attack centric builds half the time.

Also when I look at half the kits in this game it looks like they basically just picked a bunch of different abilities from different league champions and put them on the same champ.

Now I have no issue with them copying league, the issue is that league champ kits aren't just slopped together randomly. Each ability is made with the others in mind and it creates a Synergy between them that allows each ability to feed off the other.

Basically the league champ kits are well done and make sense. You can't just take random abilities from different characters and pair them together.

The result is that champ kits in pred often feel like they have an identity crisis. I'll look at one part of the kit and think Oh this is a burst dmg champion that wants to go in dump their abilities or main combo then dip. But then I'll look at the passive or ult and it will be like the kind of thing you want on a sustain fighter that likes to stay in combat.

Conclusion:

Ultimately the janky combat mechanics make micro mechanics feel shallow and inconsistent and it also takes away from the macro aspects as well since fights are often determine by who lands more basic attacks rather than punishing and baiting or combo execution.

The underwhelming dmg from abilities also makes the problem worse by giving basic attacks the most mundane and unfun way to dmg ur opponent, too much importance.

Anyway maybe my mechanics are just bad but I don't feel like the game rewards you for having good macro and high cs. That and the mechanics themselves feeling inconsistent and unfun are what make this game just no fun to me.

Ok predecessor your minion changes clearly did not get implemented

I don't care what you say. What you showed in video and what we got is like nothing ever even changed. Minions running by. Towers not changing targets. Minions not receiving damage low enough to last hit before I can hit them enough before the tower takes the last hit. All the thing you said you did is not what you said. I play every day. 4500 games. This update didn't do what was said.

Can we stop making recolors one solid color and so saturated it’s very unflattering.

A lot of RC are just one solid color and a lot of reds are super saturated very rarely are they good.

Explain this one Omeda

I was 4th pick in the draft non of my team had gotten the opportunity to pick it was opponents 1 and 2 turns and they were probably the ones who dodged the draft considering they got to 6 seconds still not picking anything yet I get the ban for it? Thankfully it was only a 5 min ban but with all do respect if I got banned for 24 hours or worse over something like this that's the type of thing I might want to delete the game over and have to think twice before coming back.

I love the game I really do. I want to get Wukong my favorite hero to affinity 99 due to my respect for the journey to the West but it's really getting harder. Feels like more and more things are breaking. More and more lag is happening too.

Recently it feels like passives on items don't work properly damage isn't being applied properly you look at your stats and there not correct I'll buy Mutilator but it will say I still have 0 life steal. il use Xyris and not get proper crit from bone collector. il get onixian quiver and the bonus crit on melee characters won't be added. Scaling numbers don't add up correctly. My friend keeps lagging out getting 24 hour bans because of it despite having great Internet and no issues on other games. What's going on?

Not 100% sure why the minions got scared. Im guessing the Aurora wall blocked path finding for them and the next open path was through the jungle...?

The minions walked back to the jungle entrance between the 2 friendly inhibs on duo side, then walked back to lane (not through jungle).

Its simply not enough to say missing left and careful right. People see that and dont really take it serious. It would be extremely helpful for when people aren't in voice coms.

QoL improvement: Allow us to look and choose the Augment/Eternal selection menu before having selected our hero - updated with new hero selection menu

Right now we can't look at the hero augments and eternals until you have selected your hero, which is a problem as the latest you select your hero, the least time you have to look at augments and eternals, and if you have the bad luck to be the last player on selecting hero you will only have 30 seconds to select them.

So a possible solution for this problem would be to allow us to open the Augment/Eternal selection menu while we are still waiting to select a hero in the hero selection process, putting a small Augment/Eternal menu at the bottom of the screen.

The system would work in the following way:

  • The menu is minimized and put at the bottom part of the screen as there are certain roles have more heroes that occupy the whole screen
  • When you click in the bottom left menu, the normal size menu would appear in the middle of the screen
  • The Augment/Eternal selection menu needs to automatically close when your turn to select hero starts, this is so people don't miss that it's their turn to select the hero
  • You can look the augments/eternals of any hero you want, this allows you to learn about the augments of different heroes, and to look the recommended eternal each hero have, so you can make an idea what eternal enemies could use, in case they use the default eternals
