Are there any differences between the English and the Japanese versions?
reddit.comSimilarities between May’s Mysteries and Professor Layton

I was looking for games similar to Professor Layton because I wanted to try something different for a change, and I stumbled across this game.
At first, I honestly thought it was some kind of fan-made game, but nope, it’s a real game. But seriously, this is way too similar to Professor Layton. The art style, the characters and even the cover art has basically the same layout. it feels incredibly close.
Would this actually be considered plagiarism, or is it just heavily inspired by Layton?
Any similar games ?
So I'm searching for a game similar to prof Layton, but more on the riddle side, so I'm not talking about a narrative game or some "basic" puzzle game like portal (I know it's not basic but yk what I mean). Any recommendations ?
Anime
So I have been rewatching the Ace Attorney anime and I just can’t understand why the people that made the Professor Layton anime did it based on Layton Mystery Detective Agency, the game no one seemed to like. I didn’t mind that game, but I definitely think they should have done the anime based off the original 6 games.
I have heard people say to just go on YouTube and watch all the cut scenes pit together, because seriously those were amazingly done, but that’s not the same as having an actual anime.
Do you guys think we would ever get an anime based off the original games? Or do you think they gave up on it because no one liked the current one we got?
Warmth and Kindness is a really good beginner song to learn on piano.
The biggest challenge with learning the piano is getting the hands to operate independently so they can play completely different parts, but the nice thing about this piece is that it has a simple melody with a lot of holding out of notes, with the accompaniment only coming in while you're still holding a note out with your right hand so you're free to let your left do its thing.
It does eventually get more complicated and force you to do some simultaneous maneuvering, but even then it's relatively simple and beginner-friendly.
It's also emotional enough to impress people when you play it.
Found a really sad lost in translation with this series
So, throughout the series, in all the games, one is Layton's Japanese puzzle solving quotes is 当然さ。英国紳士としてはね (of course, as an English gentleman.) this was translated in a few ways over the course of the series, with the original replica going with "a true gentleman leaves no puzzle unsolved," but then I'm the Japanese version of Unwound Future, we get to see
>!Layton and Claire's last interaction. The last thing she says as she leaves is always wear the hat, and then she finishes the sentence with "as an English gentleman." Whenever Layton says that quote after solving a puzzle, he's quoting the last words Claire ever said to him.!<
Playing again for the first time in years.
Just dusted off and recharged my Nintendo 3DS and am about to play the games again. Checked the release order (as to me this is the only way to play them) and fished out Curious Village from the basket they live in.
I just hope I can remember what to do!
If you could rewrite/change anything in Professor Layton, what would you change?
Replaying Specter
I'm replaying the specter on the DS, and I'm wondering why it's not available like the other ones in HD on Android/the app store? I'm literally just starting the game, but so far the puzzles are phenomenal, and I absolutely love that tapping on an object lets every character say something about it. Plus, I never realized until the end of my first playthrough years ago that you can move the shoe and the case lol.
About to move, can I still download the Professor Layton Vs. Phoenix Wright dlc?
I'm about to move to the Netherlands and was wondering if I can still download the extra dlc for PL Vs PW on an NA copy as I'm curious if they have like different servers or... something, thanks for reading!
This game broke me.
First of all, I like how they integrated the majority of the puzzles into the story. I also love the variety of the locations we visit. And we finally get to meet the real Chelmey! It was so funny when Luke tried to "unmask" him.
The soundtrack is phenomenal. I'm in love with Lost Forest, It's so mesmerizing.
And that final chapter...
I have no idea where to start. I never thought a video game could evoke so much emotion out of me, but this game managed to do it.
It's so bittersweet. I feel so bad for Anton. And yes...I cried. AGAIN. The voice actors did such a good job. Each sentence hit me like a truck.
My vision became blurry from tearing up so much. I was sobbing throughout the entire ending cutscene, and just when I finally manage to hold myself together, they hit me with Anton reuniting with Beluga and I burst into tears again! You can't keep doing this to me, game!
This is easily one of my favorite endings in a video game.
And I almost forgot to mention how badass the Professor is. Seriously, where did he learn how to swordfight?!
Crayola clay Stumble
Although my resin job is horrific, he's still adorable.
I love Layton NPCs so much
I discovered an artist i forgot
Guys, while waiting for the New game, can we take a sec and appriciate the bangers adrisaurus made 15 years ago for the games?
finally completed the CV gashapon line!
took a few months since my last post about these guys, but I finally got Layton today! I've got a triplet of Lukes now too, he's terribly stubborn, but I am finally glad to relieve my Layton-shaped itch.
Side note, has anyone ever made explanations behind why the puzzles have their specific answers? I never really liked how the Wiki and other sources would just give you the answer outright or not detail, step-by-step as to how to come to the conclusion. Sooo, I've been planning to start a blog explaining how and why, but I wasn't sure if someone already did it before me! Feel free to let me know if anyone would be interested to read about it :)
To put things in perspective, we're getting GTA VI before we're getting NWOS 🥀
Which Layton game should I get?
I’m getting real tired of waiting for the New World of Steam (do we still think it’s happening this year?) so I’m looking to get a different one in the meantime. I haven’t played since Nintendo DS days Curious Village. I could either get Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy for the switch OR one of the iOS games curious village, diabolical box, unwound future… etc.
Is the current switch game worth the $$ or best to wait for the new game and get an iOS one instead. If iOS which one?
